EDIT: I added minor parts to the story in the history section. This isn't the in-depth storyline, just an additional play by play.
Name: Daigotsu Tenshu
Occupation: Apprentice Bloodspeaker
Nationality: Japanese
Height: 6'
Weight: 160 LBS
Age: 16
Hair Color: Natural black, dyed and tainted white
Eye Color: Brown, tainted black
Appearance: His skin is a tannish colored. He wears a men's blue kimono. His mask is rather a marvel. It bears a design that would be that of some kind of tattoo. Its horns are that of an Onisu (Demon Champion). His eyes thourgh the mask are white. The initial color was brown. Since succumbing to the Shadowlands taint, they have become black mists. His walk is normal. His muscles are not great, nor are they close to weak, but they serve a purpose most of the time. He carries his Jade Katana with him almost everywhere.
Personality: Quiet, seemingly deceiving, although he can be quite trusted. Do not make any promises to him that you do not wish him to keep.
History: Fu Leng, the weakest of the 12 kami would become the strongest. When the 12 kami were pushed out of heaven, the Sun threw him out, literally. Fu Leng's body dug into the ground so deep, that he was corrupted with what lay below. This is what was known as the Festering Pit. I it was a secret taint, and its weakness, jade and crystal. The opposites infused this taint in Fu Leng as he tried to move away from each of them. Eventually, he could accept them both and manipulate his creatures by using the taint to capture them, and then the jade and crystal to manipulate their free will. He was the epitome of evil, but not its first. His legacy began with the creation of the Crystal Katana. This is known to be one of the strongest weapons in Jigoku, but even Fu Leng could not use its power correctly. Without being able to do that, it was nothing but a curved piece of glass that would not break. Fu Leng's life only consisted of enslaving human and humanoid races, and his daughter. His daughter, the Dark Daughter Shahai was the only thing he could come to love. Shahai's mother was the taint itself, in a female form that was able to seduce Fu Leng. This girl would grow to be just as evil.
Shahai institued the use of blood magic, and found herself a husband willing to learn this blood magic. Her husband's name was Daigotsu.
His advancement of blood magic was an even more industrial subject. He could cast rains of blood that spread taint, acid rain, disease, and even pregnancy. It was such an ingeneous plan that it was used when a large village almost went dead after a war. This Rain of Dark Heaven caused the female villagers to be subject to pregnancy. However, the babies were born tainted. They were normal babies, but they did not live past 9 before succumbing to either death of taint madness. Taint madness caused people to go insane and wander into the Shadowlands to destroy the source of the taint. Upon getting closer, taint madness would make you attemp to destroy anything you saw as a threat. Daigtosu's evils reigned and rained. When Fu Leng had died, he assumed himself position of Dark Lord, right around the time a boy was born as cause to one of his Rains of Dark Heaven.
The First Birth
Over 1,700 ago, Tenshu was born under the sign of the Dark Lord: Fu Leng. Fu Leng was the first ruler of Jigoku. Jigoku was sometimes a religious hell, you could say, the capital of the Shadowlands, located below Okinawa. It was supposively the dark, evil roots of Ryukyu. This place, the very ground you stepped on, was tainted. This taint was an evil essence that was triggered by emotion, mostly anger, or just a weak willpower. It would consume your body, and if you were not strong enough, it would kill you, rotting your body black. Those who were strong enough could sometimes manipulate it, and maybe live long enough. Those who had such as incredible willpower could do the same, and it would prolong your life beyond plains of existences. Those born under the sign of the Dark Lord inherited his power. Those born under the sign of the Dark Lord were the 10 Onisu, Daigotsu, Iuchiban, Shahai, and Tenshu. Those born with it had a tattoo somewhere on their body of the Mark of Fu Leng. This evil birth mark would make them the strongest in the Jigokian Empire, being resistant to the jade. Tenshu could practice anything in life, and he could use the taint as an advantage. He had a faster, stronger wit, he ws physically enhanced, and he did not crumble down emotionally.
He had succumbed to taint madness, and went searching, but this turned out to be a false case of taint madness. For 200 years, with the taint prolonging his life, keeping him looking young at such a state, he had actually been having nightmares of his... "father", Daigotsu. What had really happened was that he felt a subconscious need to find this man. When he did, Tenshu also had the need to fight him. They fought for 500 years, and Shahai watched every minute of it. It was the second longest fight in Jigoku, next to Hida and Hida Atarasi for 1,000 years. After the fight, Daigotsu did not want to lose, because Tenshu's kenjutsu and gung fu were beyond amazing. Daigotsu fled, leaving Tenshu this position as Dark Lord. Shahai would follow Daigtosu wherever.
Tenshu's new life gave him problems. He was this evil person, but the Shadowlands creatures, these oni, goblins, trolls, ogres, infected and tainted being of all species, did not accept him. He was ravaged by those demons, tearing his soul from his body, and his eyes from his head, makign himself watch. It was the only thing that had ever scared him. He died that day, of course, but his body was still intact with the taint, so it could be pieced back together.
Second Taint Wave
Tenshu, reborn again at 0 years old, gradually regained memories from his past life. He was the same person being born all over again. It was a matter of the taint finding itself in the body to piece itself back together as an infant, and the soul finding the body to be reborn. This time, Tenshu was born just like Fu Leng was introduced to the taint. Tenshu was taught more things about the taint and some blood magic. He was still this boy, but the memories made him remind himself that he was that man as well. This time, he was not recognized in the Shadowlands anymore. He had ventured out of Jigoku a long time ago, but did not abandon his past. In the Shadowlands, he met a legion fo 10,000 undead tainted samurai, each of them guaranteeing their victory over Tenshu. They had no reasoning, they were undead, and tainted. The Dark Virtues were their reason. Tenshu defeated 9,999 of them. The last that remained was a large man named Kyoden. Kyoden defeated him, but could not kill him. For Kyoden's bravery and skill, Tenshu gave him the companionship in tern for each others favors. Tenshu would help Kyoden find his brother, Soetsu. Kyoden was to aid Tenshu as his body guard, because of what happened in Tenshu's past life.
There were many hard times, and a new army arose. An army of oni. Kyoden's body was ravaged, while Tenshu's body was unharmed. Tenshu defeat every last oni to save Kyoden, who had come to be his best friend by now. Kyoden's body could only be saved with an abundance of souls. First, his own soul was bound back to his body, then the oni's souls, then whatever loose souls were wandering around the Shadowlands. Kyoden's body could not sustain though, and needed structure. Armor found around the Shadowlands must do, or else nothing else would. He bound it to his body, and it would stay together with the taint drawing itself it. Kyoden owed his life to Tenshu, and he would have to serve with him for anything, or else his life was meaningless.
Tenshu and Kyoden had still been traveling. On their travels, Tenshu had tought Kyoden how to bind souls to bodies, just in case it was ever at all necessary. He taught Kyoden how to reap souls from bodies, also. The one thing he did not teach Kyoden was how to replace a soul in a body that already contained one, called instant soul transfusion. This was too dangerous of a rote, hardly was it a spell. It was a lifestyle that some spent years trying to master and could not perfect it. Tenshu learned this through finding Shahai. He found her at a shrine devouted to the Festering Pit. Now that Fu Leng was dead, she had to mourn her father's death. Tenshu had asked her where he could find Daigotsu. Her anger was immense, and this instant soul transfusion made her angry. She could not use such a rote on her husband Daigotsu because his power was above hers, and it would have no effect. She wanted to use this because he was close to dying from taint madness. However, his taint madness could be kept off while he was unconscious, or calm. Shahai had been rpacticing instant soul transfusion on anyone else she cam across, but it never made her stronger than Daigotsu.
Her plan was to attemp it on Daigotsu, but while Tenshu was practicing this, he never noticed how dangerous it was. While using this rote, a soul from a greater oni, just one oni, became a reaver, and lept inside Tenshu's body. It rotted his body out instantly, just by trying to cast a simple blood magic spell. Again, his body found its way back through the taint lines, and the soul was brought back. Kyoden was still a wanderer, and he followed Tenshu's soul to try and find his body. He failed Tenshu, and he would have to redeem himself.
Your Stars Are Gone
Tenshu's third life started when he was born in a small forgotten village of Kaminari, just outside of the Shadowlands. The village had become tainted with the evil Shadowlands taint. On rare occasions, oni (demons) are summoned by certain Shadowlands tainted beings to bring out strength to help them. This brings them one step closer to having the oni take over their body. Tenshu, however, is an oni himself from the later events of this third life, and did not need to take over a body. He not evil, but he not always in the pursuit of everything that is unlawful or rude.
Doom of the Dark Lord
It all mostly started when Kaminari was attacked by the undead ranks of the Shadowlands when Tenshu was just 7. The village was consumed, and Tenshu was killed then. Daigotsu, the founder of the Bloodspeakers, ressurected everyone in the village with an oni, trying to summon them into his ranks. Little did Daigotsu know that later, these villagers would uprise and kill him. Tenshu was one of the few able to resist this, and to take over the oni instead, but it destroyed his original body. The only body strong enough that was still intact was Daigtosu. He had no ability to move around in his soul, though, being so young. Kyoden, loyal Kyoden, came back, and used Tenshu's teachings to rebind Tenshu's soul to Daigotsu's body. This did not constitue a fourth birth. Tenshu soon discovered he had great power with this. His eyse began to form from brown to black from the tainted oni, and his hair turned white, aside from dying it. When Tenshu was separated from the Shadowlands at age 12, he had searched so long for some kind of school that would accept his art of maho (blood magic). He summoned spirits, sometimes, to keep him company, for he did not have parents. They were just shells of bodies that were hosts to the oni. He once tried to summon their own spirits, which ripped them from their bodies away from the oni. The bodies were destroyed without spirits to feed on, as were his parents spirits.
Now in Daigotsu's body, being a powerful oni, even more powerful that Daigotsu, Tenshu's soul made the body form to its true age. Daigotsu's body was younger, and younger, until it was Tenshu's age in this third life, which was about 13. At the age of 14, oni lords were what Tenshu called 'prey,' while mortal men could not fight them because of constant fear. Some Onisu were killed, and their blood was collected, for it is some of the strongest for using blood magic. The remaining Onisu are still deamed to be defeated. At 16, his search finally ended when he found a school for all types of magic and mahotsukai alike. The Arcane Academy was not exctly what he was searching for, but it would have to do.
Style:
-Majutsu/Maho- Blood magic/black magic, used by Bloodspeakers. This uses the blood and/or spirit of any being. One must be tainted, as Tenshu is, to use this type of magic.
Strengths:
-Mental integrity and charisma- A quick thinker to cast spells rather quickly, and never with a thought of failing to do so
-Speedy- Quick in motion
Weaknesses:
-Jade objects not under the control or sanctification of himself (major weakness)
Spell List:
-Hisui Sasori(Jade Scorpion)- This entranses souls of the dead to strengthen the caster's chi.
-Kaze-do(Stance of the Wind)- A martial style that uses chi to strike instead of force.
-Asu no Kage(Shadow of Tomorrow)- This allows Tenshu to help him predict certain things, like weather, deaths, and rarely the opponent's moves.
-Doki Kihi(Wrathful Spirits)- This temporarily summons a somewhat weak companion spirit to the caster.
-Seiryu no Fukushuu(Vengful Storm)- A storm of spirits are summoned. Much use of blood is required in this casting, and is a rather difficult spell to cast. The summoned spirits are rather strong.
Weapons/Gear:
-Crystal Katana- A katana used to defeat Shadow beings
-Jade Katana- A lighter, faster, and weaker version of the Crystal Katana
-Hm, that mask...- Nothing to be known outside of this character yet
-The Obsidian Scroll of the Dammed- Used to help control and save dying spirits
-Blood of the Onisu- Used for strong type sof blood magic/maho
