-First Name: Tormaigh ("Thunder Spirit" in Gaelic, pronounced "TOR-my")
-Last Name: MacRagallach ("Son of Valiance" in Gaelic, pronounced Mac-RAG-all-ahk)
-Nicknames: Torm, Tormy, Mac
-Occupation: Spellcaster/Inventor/Handyman/Mechanic
-Orientation: Straight, non-negotiable
-Nationality: American, 100% Irish/Gaelic heritage
-Height: 6'5"
-Weight: 225 Lbs (without equipment)
-Age: 18
-Hair Color: Orange
-Eye Color: Green
-Appearance: Torm is tall and broad shouldered and fairly muscular. His orange hair is thick and untidy. A large clean-cut beard of the same color accentuates his jawline. His facial features are somewhat angular but not harsh or unnatractive. He favors a tan trench coat and a matching fedora which hides his face in shadow. He wears leather gauntlets with magic-reflective guard plates and similarly adorned boots. Under his sleeves and in his boots, he wears immensely heavy strap-on weights for personal training purposes. As for his other clothes, he tends to vary his ensemble but favors somewhat baggy pants and button-down, collared shirts, though he doesn't ever button the collar or tuck in, and wears a sturdy leather belt. On formal occasions, he trades the tan coat and hat for black or white and ads a red or yellow feather to his hat. He has all sorts of pockets inside his coat where he keeps a large supply of useful and useless things.
-Personality: Outgoing and friendly, Torm feels as much at ease in an unfamiliar crowd as with familiar acquaintences. Though he looks down on no one, he holds himself to a rigorous code of conduct that might make him seem overly hard-edge at first, but he knows how to have fun. Torm is usually the first to volunteer for anything and is obsessive about not going back on his word to an almost self-destructive degree. Another important part of his personality is better explained as part of his history section, so check that out. He enjoys a good drink every once in a while, but rarely gets heavily drunk.
-History: Torm's father, after successfully taking the test to become an Off-Academy Student, moved to the US where he met and married ranch tycoon-ess Cremia Romani. Torm was their first child. He exhibited a strange fascination with rhythm and music; he would often be anxious, figety, or down-right bad-tempered in the absence of some sort of sound pattern. His parents, seeing no reason to discourage this, urged him to try his hand at playing, and developed a large degree of ability in percussion, brass instruments, the harmonica, and the bagpipes, which he took up as a tribute to his heratige. Around the age of 8, he found that he enjoyed building and making things. Once he found that he could apply his fascination with rhythm to this hobby, he became even more enthused. He made a number of inventions, most of which he has kept secret for his own personal use. When it was discovered that he had some magical ability, his parents and he decided that he would one day have to attend the academy, but he would first prepare. His father tried to help him train, but his idiosyncratic thought pattern made it difficult for his father to understand which way his mind was going. Torm developed his magical abilities on his own by applying the elements he found he could manipulate to his mechanical creations. His system of "weaving" elements to create complex effects is not unique to him, but the application of rhythm is not documented in any other cases.
-Style: Of the traditional schools of magic, Tormaigh's style would seem closest to Enchantment, but is in fact a complex application of elementalism. Torm is an Elemental Weave-Caster. He casts spells by creating "weaves" consisting of "strands" of magic of the various elements. This allows for infinite complexity and variation of magic, given enough time and energy.
-Weaknesses: Torm's style of casting, while majorly flexible, is more difficult to perform under time constraint. The difficulty of casting a spell is directly proportional to the time available to perform it in. Therefore, only the simplest of weaves are available to him instantaneously.
-Strengths: Torm's pain threshold, general endurance, and physical strength are extremely well-developed. Also, his instinct and subconscious wisdom are a great asset to him. As time goes on in a battle, Torm grows accustomed to the enemy's movement pattern and can begin to expect and predict movements and attacks.
-Spell List:
--Weave(various elements, varies): Torm's spellcasting style is infinitely malleable, and therefore if he can come up with it, he can weave it with strands of elements. The weakness to this seemingly overpowered ability is time required. While some styles require little thought or preparation for spell release, the time required to create weaves is proportional to their complexity. In other words, only the simplest of them can be created reflexively, and more complicated ones require more concentration and time. Energy requirements also increase with more difficult spells.
Instantaneous casting is available for the following weaves at this time:
--Imbue(various Elements, varies): This is a general term for the creation of weaves that can be settled over an object and "tied off" in order to give them new properties. Think of it as enchantment.
--Mind Resonance: This can only be used effectively once Torm gets a good feel of the enemy's thought patterns. By tapping rhythmically in time with the intricate patterns of the opponent's thoughts, they enter a state of protracted hypnosis; a sort of mental paralysis which continues as long as the tapping continues uninterrupted. By altering the pattern slightly, he can cause the target to become sleepy, heal faster, introduce ideas and emotions into the mind, and a number of other things, including controlling simple body movements and functions. The opponent must be able to hear or feel the pattern and this technique requires immense concentration and perfect attunement to the opponent's mind, but is entirely physical in nature and uses no mana. Not really a spell, but an important technique of his, so there you have it.
--Class-Granted: Savior's Arm, Level One. Physical punch that restores energy and endurance to target or damages dark-element types. Effectiveness determined by RP and or energy put into spell.
Other: Interesting family side note: While Tormaigh inherited his father's magical ability and developed his own unique skills, his younger sister developed parallel to him in the non-magical realm. She inherited her mother's aptitude for the ranching business and has created a new industry: combination dairy/alcoholic beverages are now all the rage in the US and some parts of Europe!

Instantaneous casting is available for the following weaves at this time:
- Elemental Shield: With a gesture and the application of mana, a temporary magic/light reflective shield is created. It does not reflect physical objects, i.e. a bullet, back at the assailant, but it is solid so it will block the attack. By applying more mana and using a full-body spin, 360 degree coverage is possible, but quite a bit of mana is consumed this way. (For this, picture Neji's "Divine Whirl" in Naruto) The shield can be "woven" from any combination of the elements, sometimes granting it different resistances.
- Elemental Blast Weave: Basic concentration of an element for use as a projectile or in conjunction with a physical attack. Consumes mana per use, and more mana if several elements are combined in a single shot. Some elemental blast weaves can be used alternatively (example: air blast weaves can be used to boost things though the air or add force and speed behind something already moving)
- Elemental Lashhands: A long, visible, glowing thread of elemental strands protrudes from each finger of one hand. These strands can have different properties depending on their composition. Can be used for fast, whiplike attacks, as a means of hanging and swinging, to wrap around things, or to deflect spells. Costs more than the others. Remains for 3 rounds.
--Imbue(various Elements, varies): This is a general term for the creation of weaves that can be settled over an object and "tied off" in order to give them new properties. Think of it as enchantment.
