Formal Name: Enchandarai of the Allun “The Enchanted One” (En-CHON-dar-eye)
Known as: Chandra, sometimes Chan
(Chan-DRAH, not Chan-jra...very clean pronunciation)
(uh-LOON)
Gender: Female
Occupation: Apprentice, Archer Mage
Nationality: Allun, an elven race devoted to archery
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 124
Age: Undocumented, perhaps 19
Hair Color: Blue
Eye Color: Blue
Appearance: See picture above. (What she wears is the honorable uniform of the Kriha, or noble archer of her people. The bow she made herself as a part of her training, see history.)
Personality: Chandra is very wise and observant, she usually doesn’t speak until she’s analyzed the situation around her, and if said situation calls for her to voice an opinion. Otherwise, she usually uses body language to communicate with other people: an eyebrow raise here, a shoulder shrug there, her facial expressions express what she’s thinking most, and she usually doesn’t need to speak to get her point across. When she does speak, however, her voice is soft but confident and knowledgeable, and people usually have to actually pay close attention to her to hear what she is saying, which usually leaves them hanging on every word. It’s a more highly effective way than shouting for people to hear you, and a lot less painful on the ears and throat. She has a very level headed demeanor, the only thing that really bugs her is the lack of enunciation the human race has developed (she often over-enunciates her words, giving her a crisp clear tone), as it often leads to the mispronunciation of her name, which she finds a bit insulting when done repeatedly.
History: ] The Allun is one of three great Elven races. The other two races consist of the Haruke (hu-rook) of the South, an assembly of barbarians that specialize in ax weaponry and earthen magic, and the Outai (oh-tie) of the North, a peace-loving, monk-like village dedicated to the temples of psychic magic and worldly knowledge. The Allun is the lesser of these three races, as far as size goes, and they’re located directly between these two complete opposites. A solitary city is home to these people, the name of which is scarcely known to anyone outside of the city itself. It is generally called “The Sapphire City” because of its giant blue stone walls surrounding it. The fact that the inhabitants all have blue hair helps with this name as well, but that is simply a trait of their race. From the outside. The city appears foreboding, the skilled archers dotted along the perimeter could pick off a cricket from about a mile away as the land surrounding the city is drought-stricken wasteland. Beyond these walls, however thrives and intelligent and relatively secretive city. The grass is green and there is plenty of water and food for its inhabitants, completely different to the land outside. The reason or cause of this is unknown.
The Allun are skilled in the ways of Archery and its related magic, and it is common knowledge that an Allun-made bow is among the best in the world, if not the best. Painstakingly crafted by hand from the finest unblemished wood, and sealed with a dozen sealing and protective spells, the bow is basically indestructible. An Allun archer, like Chandra, makes his or her own bow, and therefore is very knowledgeable of the magic within it, and can wield it expertly. If their bow is somehow removed from their possession in battle or otherwise, the Allun are practically helpless in exception to some hand to hand combat. An Allun archer is chosen at birth, and removed from their families to begin training at the Temple of the Sun at the northern end of the city. They are given a name when they reach the end of their apprenticeship, as well as the official robes of an archer (like what Chandra wears). Once an honored Kriha, the young archers are immediately put to use defending the giant blue walls as well as the inside of their city, as they also play the role of peacekeepers among the inhabitants.
Despite being in the middle of a desert wasteland, the Sapphire City is constantly under attack by vagabonds and smaller cities in the hopes of discovering their secret to prosperity. Recently, however, the Haruke have taken interest in this azure culture, and it has become increasingly harder to defend their city from these barbarians, as well as the other lesser adversaries. In response to this, the Elders of the city decided to send out a few of their youth to gain an outside education in the hopes of finding something to help them against their blood-thirsty opposition. Chandra was one of these youths.
Style: Enchantment (Archery Mage)
Strengths: Chandra can enchant her arrows with magic, then shoot them at her enemy with great speed and accuracy. This is both beneficial to her physically in fighting as well as magically. Because of her elongated elven ears, Chandra has very acute hearing. She can pinpoint the slightest sound that gives away an enemy’s presence, and when really listening closely, her ears even perk a bit (like a rabbit’s, but not in an exaggerated way. In fact, some people only think they imagine this movement, as it is so slight). Along with her hearing, Chandra has sharp, watchful eyes from years of training as an archer.
Weaknesses:Other than her archery, she doesn’t know much else magic. She is knowledgeable about other magics, she simply hasn’t learned them. Therefore she is quite dependant on her bow, and without it she’s significantly weaker. She knows a relative amount of close hand fighting, but it isn’t her forte.
Spell List:
Enchantment:
Fire arrow: An arrow enveloped in fire. The entire arrow (shaft and all) is enveloped in fire when released from her box, which immediately spreads upon contact with the target.
Ice arrow: Upon making contact with the target, the area around it becomes enveloped in thick ice. Usually shot at feet or hands to hinder movement/spellcasting/etc
Poison arrow: Self explanatory. Arrow poisons the foe, weakening them each turn afterward (-1 strength, -1 dexterity, -1 energy each turn)
Electric arrow: An arrow, which upon making contact, sends an electric shockwave through the opponent. There are two strengths: mild (a short shock, BZZZT, that leaves the opponent tingly afterward, may lose feeling in limbs for a minute) and potent (cause temporary black outs while the body reloads. Lots of tingling and pain.)
Darkness arrow: An arrow that vaporizes as it reaches the target, temporarily enveloping them in a cloud of darkness. Disorienting, and sometimes produces hallucinations from the darkness element.
