History: Arthes Ackem ruled as a dark sorcerer in 3rd century England. He held The Staff of a Thousand Lost Souls, an ancient magical source of power. It allowed him to summon the thousand lost souls of Leggen, a fortress of masterful wizards and witches. Before it was destroyed by an entire legion of ogres the wizards and witches ruled the known land at the time. What people don't know is that Arthes lead the legion of ogres. After Arthes had destroyed the fortress aided by ogres he took the staff of the top wizard, Orik, and sucked in the thousands of souls of the great wizards of Leggen. After his accomplishment Arthes destroyed seven different towns to test his new staff.
Arthes also killed ten different important kings and obtained the rank of Supreme Ruler of Magic. He recreated the towns that he destroyed and made slaves of the men and women in them. If anyone opposed Arthes, he would destroy them with a wave of a wand. But it was of Arthes' carelessness that he forgot The Five Wizards of Light. They were the only great wizards left and the only hope left for freedom. They caught Arthes' attention after they freed enslaved people from multiple towns.
Arthes found them as a minor annoyance and ignored the fact that a few people were freed. The guards protecting each town found it serious and started working later shifts. He told them to stop in the words:
"Doth thou disobey thy mighty OVERLORD!? Do not worry of this minor problem and stop giving me more work to do!"
The guards disobeyed and Arthes destroyed them. Because of the anger that the guards brought Arthes, he forgot about his staff and did not tend to it. Because of his anger one of the souls in the staff became free. The soul was in fact Orik. Now that he finally had a form he became a ghost…but using the magic that was carried to him from his physical form he was able to make himself solid and more human. Orik sought the Five Wizards of Light and in fact found them.
They discussed the matters and decided they would form a resistance and call for the many peasants and train them in the way of the Wizard. It was in fact formed and they found Arthes' palace. The entire resistance charged in and attacked the guardians as the Five Wizards of Light looked for Arthes. The team of wizards knocked down the gates to the main room of the palace…Arthes' room. It was a long battle but at last Arthes had defeated the five wizards…but not Orik. Combining a simple binding spell and some ghostly magic Orik managed to bind Arthes into a timeless chamber for the rest of eternity.
After being bound Arthes had watched Orik shatter the Staff of a Thousand Lost Souls. The timeless chamber kept Arthes at his currant age keeping him from dying (and that was the worst of it). While imprisoned Arthes was able to contact his inner spirits. As he talked to them they agreed to trade mana for power. Meaning that he could call for the power of whatever spirit he wanted if he gave them mana. Using his new found magic Arthes broke free of the binding and found himself in the currant year, with his palace in ruins.
Arthes wandered around when he had a portal open in front of him. He walked in and suddenly woke up on a magical train full of wizards, sorcerers and witches. The train stopped at a city called Babylos. Arthes reached into his cloak's pocket and saw a note saying: Arcane Academy…
Arthes had now knowledge of what Arcane Academy was but nor did he know what year it was, so he decided it would be a good idea to go to this Academy and learn more about Babylos.
Style: A style Arthes calls Possessing. You see…as it is explained in the history, Arthes has inner spirits and in order to survive Arthes needs to feed these spirits mana. If he doesn't they will leave his body to another person killing Arthes. In order to feed these entities mana he needs to use magic produced by them for he has no other magic because he lost his staff. These spirits were unknown to Arthes before he entered the chamber and he lost the battle with Orik only because he wasn't feeding the spirits enough mana, weakening him. So basically he gets possessed by the spirit of his choosing by feeding them mana…or else he's screwed and someone else gets his powers.
Strengths: It was not mentioned in his history but Arthes was trained for military combat as a boy (before he knew he could use magic) meaning he knows a numerous amount of battle stradegies making him a bit more ferocious in battle.
Weaknesses: He is very hot-head and careless in battles. He thinks since he was previously a LORD OF MAGIC (only because he had the most powerful staff ever at that time, he doesn't now though, making him a lot weaker then he was) he doesn't have to think about trying to win or lose because he thinks he is all powerful.
Spell List:
Dosan's Strike: Arthes calls on the spirit Dosan (spirit of the shadow) and Arthes blends in the shadows around him and is invisible, but is visible only to any sort of magic sight. He stays in this form for a set amount of time. He can turn visible also if he is hit and/or hits his opponent.
Eye of Hihcronn: Arthes calls on the spirit Hihcronn (the all Seeing Eye) and Arthes can see the next move from his opponent before it happens giving Arthes the ability to easily dodge it.
Lorac's Rage: Arthes calls on the spirit Lorac (the Arachnid spirit) and Arthes suddenly gains the agility of a spider, he also gains the ability to shoot webs out of his hands. (kind of like spider man)
Shape of Vivaton: Arthes calls on the spirit Vivaton (the spirit of size) Arthes suddenly can either grow smaller (the smallest is about the size of a wrist watch) or he can grow bigger (the tallest is slightly taller that a small barber shop) at his will.
Dosan's Revenge: Arthes again calls on the spirit Dosan and suddenly turns into the opponent that Arthes is facing. Giving Arthes the knowledge of every move they know and every move there about to make for a set amount of time. He can also turn back into himself if he is hit and/or hits the opponent.
Weapons/Gear: (None)
Note: The Spirits that Arthes has are not summons nor transformations, meaning they need no separate stats. (just thought I'd let you know that)
