Name: Thalomin Vladimir Daevonicus
Occupation: Apprentice Black Guard
Nationality: Unknown; Possibly Siberian
Height: 6 foot 4 inches
Weight: 246 pounds
Age: 20
Hair Color: Silver and Gray
Eye Color: White
Appearance: Intimidating. That's the appearance he exudes overall as he stands at a height that is much taller then most of the individuals that seem to roam around the academy. With a powerfully built body from personal training and being battle-hardened he has pale skin that goes with his white eyes. Mid-length silver and gray hair that's to die for almost. Thalomin has a long trailing scar that goes down his right leg from upper thigh to ankle from picking a fight with a Razor Demon. He has an aloft look about him that many would say that he's bored at the moment with nothing better to do it seems. Thalomin's voice is deep yet at the same time has that dark lusty purr that is hard to ignore. Especially when physical interest is involved. His typical expression is not one of those angst ones or one of those disgusting joyful ones; rather instead it is calm and collected always studying and watching. The way he moves around suggests that he’s been at it for quite awhile as far as practicing his movements. To make them appear a certain way not just for the benefit of himself but, also the benefit for the others around him. After all when lugging weapons around or wearing armor you have to train yourself to appear that you’re moving normally when using such equipment otherwise you are nothing more then an idiot in training.
Personality: Calm, collected, cool, distant, controlled…these things all sum up Thalomin’s personality. The personality of a man that wants to take the things he wants and not having to worry over the repercussions of such actions that he chooses to make. After all if you’re going to do something then do it don’t let society’s preconceived illusions of what is right or wrong stop you from doing the things that you want to do. You only live life a single time so why bother playing it in a way to where it is dull and lifeless. The people that have power are the ones that should be in charge it is a simple survival of the fittest theory that Thalomin follows to a distinct point. He doesn’t waste his time on pointless angst or brainless idiocies if he is going to have a relationship with someone then he’d rather get serious and get the bullshit out the window. Thalomin follows a very strange code of chivalry it is chivalry that much is obvious but, there are some things to it that he has added, removed, or edited to his liking so that it is more of a code of honor. Thalomin doesn’t like listening to long-winded idiots preferring that things are cut straight to the point so he doesn’t waste his time. Speeches are for the weak-minded the fools that are brainlessly influenced into things through words that are not their own.
History: Not everyone is born to happy little families or having their parents die at a young age. Not everyone is born in some stable country or if they are they don’t have the sudden average life. Thalomin is one of those odd-cases and by odd I mean he’s had a life that is much different then other people that seem to flood the world. Thalomin was born to Russian parents according to official government records from Russia; however, he was born in the Siberian region to be more specific. To just clarify it all the out of the way town where Thalomin was born believed in collective raising of children since not all people were fit for raising children. After all why have kids if you’re going to be shitty parents who have no positive or at least constructive influence on the child that you strived so hard to give birth to? The village had decided that all children that were born in the area must be collectively raised by the village as a whole to better wipe off these constructive traits and to figure out the potential of each generation much more quickly.
To say the system was effective is an understatement. However, not all of them would enjoy the average lives of being in such a village. The village’s protection depended on a nearby war band that operated in the area many villagers whispering them to be hell incarnate themselves. These men and women of this war party were not normal; to ensure absolute protection they simply skimmed off any children that showed magic potential which was rather small maybe one or two children every four or so years which didn’t hurt the population at all. The village received its protection for the four years as Thalomin was the only child in this trip that showed any magical talent at all. The in the end would be beneficial to Thalomin as the Dark Mage, Falshoren needed a new trainee to take on. His last one had died because he was an idiot that couldn’t survive such simple things as combat trials and being able to keep a demon under control after you summoned it up.
Thalomin was of course the ‘lucky’ person so to speak to become Falshoren’s newest apprentice the line of dead apprentices far out-weighing the ones that lived. Many of the fellows in the group often placed bets to see whether or not Thalomin would survive a particular training session. Thalomin learned quickly that childlike dreams and emotions if not squandered or at least controlled rigidly were only going to get him killed and he had a strong sense of surviving even against the most damning of odds. He had to admit one thing about that fat old grouch though; that men had an incredible amount of knowledge stuffed away in his mind. The fact that the old man hadn’t even gone senile he being in his mid-seventies showed just how sharp his mind was. Falshoren wanted someone to successful carry on his magic his so-called legacy and this was why the ranks of dead apprentices had been getting steep lately because he wanted a successor to his power so that he could rest easy knowing that at least one had the potential to become grater.
Thalomin took advantage of this weakness in the old man learning a wide variety of skills in the dark arts that would make many individuals want to fall down and weep. However, Thalomin did not just want to be limited to just so little words. He wanted the ability to strike down an enemy that got in the way and he succeeded by mastering combative skills and learning to wear armor. These not only increased his strength but, also gave him the ability to survive more of the old fart’s tests that he so jubilantly flung at Thalomin whenever he was bored or just in a bad mood. Woe, betide anyone when that man was in a bad mood because he had an arsenal to really carry out his anger. Thalomin would spend most of his life under the harsh teachings of Falshoren until age finally caught up with the aged Dark Mage who by then had given Thalomin the keys to his knowledge and the ability to expand on what he learned. Thalomin however, had no intention of ending his studies so he looked further onwards.
The Academy attracted him with its wide variety of magic abilities that seemed to flourish in the city he would fit in and not be questioned. After all what’s one more dark magic user when there already seemed to be several around that could keep attention off his back while he studied. Now at the age of twenty Thalomin begins his studies at the Academy to learn just how far his power can go.
Style: Dark Arts
The Dark Arts is also simply known as black magic. Plain and simple magic that focuses on the more eviler and sinister side of magic. Thalomin's training is rather broad in what he can and can not do with this magic but, the fact remains that it revolves around black magic effects. What elemental attacks he does have are in fluxed with dark energy. Holy magic in general is not something that Thalomin has ever touched simply because it disgusts him. It is weak and spineless magic that should be banned from usage because of it's typical uselessness in combat.
Strengths: Thalomin is able to adapt to a variety of situations thanks to his wide-arsenal of spells and his ability to wade into a fight. While he is more of a generalized fighter he is able to take what could have been a jack-of-trades fashion and turn it into a kick-ass combination. Thalomin is able to function in many roles thanks to his own personal abilities and is particularly adept at dishing a spell or two into a fight. He has several spells that are very fast and have low energy cost allowing him to give repeated shots of magic.
Weaknesses: Thalomin's lack of holy magic means his defensive spell list is lackluster at best until he overcomes that flaw. He also has practically no restorative capabilities unless it's for himself making him not the choice for a party that needs healing. Thalomin's insistence on metallic armor makes him more vulnerable to electrical attacks they doing slightly more damage to him. Perhaps the most important part is that Thalomin has arrogance in combat and this will sometimes influence his judgment in a fight which could leave him more open.
Spell List: Current spells that Thalomin can employ.
Summoning Spells
[/li][li]Summon Hellfire Salamander - Summons a salamander the size of a large alligator that is covered in spikes and is hot to the touch. The Hellfire Salamander takes heavy damage from cold attacks but, less damage from water and electrical attacks to the intense heat around it. These things make good cannon fodder and are fairly easy to summon and control.
# Firestream - Breathes a narrow stream of constant fire to work on a single target that deals small to moderate damage. This is a natural ability.
# Fireball - Spits a ball of flame at a target using a small amount energy to form it and give it's range. Explodes on impact. Deals moderate damage to a localized area.
# Immolation - Natural ability that generates high heat around the Hellfire Salamander. Those who enter melee with it take a small amount of damage.

[/li][li]Summons Razor Demon - Now these things are fun as they're raptor-like bodies are practically covered in sharp edges making these things adept killing machines. Harder to control then the Hellfire Salamander these things are hard to kill because of their carapaces. These melee demons love getting it up close and personal.
# Spike Carapace - Physical attacks have a 50/50 chance of being deflected off the creature’s carapace. Obviously natural attacks from opponents will take damage from the Razor Demon's hide. This is a natural ability.
# Throw Claws - Using a small amount of energy the Razor Demon will fling it's razor sharp claws at an opponent while growing new ones in their place. This attack only does a small amount of damage but, it flings multiple claws at a time.
# Death Theores - When a Razor Demon is defeated it explodes in a shower of razors and spikes dealing moderate to anything within ten meters of it when it dies. A Razor Demon must have a small amount of energy remaining in order for the trigger to go off.

Wordology
[/li][li]Dark Speech - This is a profane ability that is only usable by those that are TRAINED to use it. The language itself channels the energy of hatred, violence, and other dark elements of personalities to fuel it's power and can be used in a variety of ways. Any unwary fool trying to speak the words will suffer a probable magical backlash. At Thalomin's current level he knows how to say the commands for shattering unattended objects and sections of ground, using it to charm a dim-witted opponent (must have less intelligence then Thalomin and even then does not always work), and releases bolts of negative energy at opponents. Each usage of the Dark Speech is a small drain on the caster.
Symbology
[/li][li]Hellfire Ball - Forming a symbol Thalomin can unleash a ball of hellfire at an opponent for a small amount of damage. In addition the flames have a high chance of catching a target on fire. This can be avoided of course and each usage uses a small drain of energy.
[/li][li]Blightcold Shower - This is an ice attack that is merged with dark energy as well. Using a moderate amount of Thalomin's energy and forming a symbol in the sky black ice shards rain on an area dealing moderate a moderate amount of damage to anything that is caught in it. Being an area of affect attack (currently a twenty-five meter radius) this attack can not be used to target specific areas.
[/li][li]Dark Lightning - Forming a single symbol with his hand Thalomin can unleash a single bolt of black lightning from his palm at any creature within one hundred meters that he can see. This attack deals a moderate amount of concentrated damage but, has a good chance (forty percent) for causing an opponent to become paralyzed for a brief time (two to six seconds).
Weapon Attacks
[/li][li]Vorpal Strike - Causing minute high-speed vibrations to go through his blade-edge Thalomin dramatically increases the effectiveness of his attack especially when it comes to lopping off limbs or cutting through thick armor. This is also effective as a weapon breaker attack. This attack uses a small amount of energy every round Thalomin has this active.
[/li][li]Shatter Defense - Charging his blade with baleful energy Thalomin can slam his blade in to dispel one defensive spell and one stat-boosting spell in a single strike. The effects are random (chosen by opponent if the hit lands) and uses a small amount of energy. Once the strike connects the energy is discharged and must be reimbued with the attack.
Weapons/Gear: Current equipment that is used by Thalomin.
Kal'Fuzak - This dark blade is Thalomin's weapon of choice in melee combat featuring a heavy guard and also a sharp edge. Many black runes are engraved up and down the blade of this weapon etched in cold iron. The weapon's metal is extremely sharp and tough with magical enhancements to keep it that way. This blade is the focus for quite a few attacks.
Daggers - Various shapes, sizes, makes, and even materials that they are made by Thalomin has plenty of them especially the light throwing variety for a ranged fight. His largest one is the size of a short sword and is often used when fighting two handed with Kal'Fuzak.
Full Body Armor - Light mithral weave armor toughened with cold iron this armor is not only light-weight but, extremely resilient too attacks and protects Thalomin when he's in a fight. Or at least does the best that it can as far as providing protection. There are chinks in the armor that can be taken advantage of and Thalomin does not wear a helmet.

[/li][li]Flight - A Nightmare is not commonly bound by the laws of gravity and can actually walk on surfaces such as gas or fluid as if it were a solid. During flight flaming hoofprints will be left behind it for a few seconds at best. The flames are a hellfire that quickly burns out but, is unaffected by wind.
[/li][li]Hellfire Attack - A Nightmare can easily breath hellfire or strike with hooves covered in hellfire. While they not only use strength of the mount itself to deal damage the flames can catch an opponent itself. The hooves use strength and the breath uses energy so the damage is the same.
