Name: Kinkatsu Nanashi
Occupation: Apprentice/Unemployed.
Nationality: Japanese
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 155 lbs.
Age: 18
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Appearance:
Overall, this is exactly what Nanashi looks like. Red robes, with a golden pattern (Not a magical symbol) on the chest. A piece of black (Not deep purple) cloth is tied around his waist as a belt. On that belt is a sheath, in which is a sword (Explained in further detail in Equipment/Gear). His black hair goes down three inches below the shoulder, and he has a very slight tan.
Personality: Nanashi likes to keep to himself, and when he isn't alone, tends to not socialize at all, resulting in him being rather hard to befriend. However, if someone DOES befriend him, by some incredible method, he can be rather friendly.
Also, Nanashi can tend to be a little... violent. He angers easily, and when he gets angry, he sometimes overreacts to the point of hurting someone (You know, trying to set them on fire or cut them in half). He enjoys hanging out on the training grounds for the sole reason that he is allowed to fight there, and has gotten in trouble multiple times for both fighting outside of the training grounds and damaging of school property.
History: Nanashi was born a normal boy, to parents that were normal in every way except their mastery of magic. Nanashi's father had mastered elementalism, and his mother had mastered scroll magic. Starting when Nanashi was 8, they began to teach him almost everything that he now knows.
Nanashi caught onto scroll magic faster than he caught onto elementalism. It was a very simple concept: Put some mana into a scroll, let it do what it wants to do. Elementalism required first either taking an element from somewhere or creating it, then manipulating it to do what you want. Also, Nanashi was having quite a bit of trouble with both. Eventually, Nanashi's parents tried having Nanashi use wordology, and he learned much faster.
Nanashi really never mastered nonverbal magic: His mother died from cancer when he was 16, and two years later, his father suffered a heart attack. So Nanashi went to Arcane academy, where he has lived and been taught every since.
Style: Nanashi uses scroll magic and elementalism in all branches except spirit, light, and dark. In both parts, he uses wordology to help him activate the scrolls/use the spells, and has trouble doing magic without words.
Almost all of Nanashi's spells have at least one other that works with it. From this you can tell that Nanashi likes to make two spells work toward the same cause, and even has some spells that cannot be preformed without preforming another spell first.
Strengths: Nanashi has a very large amount of mana, is quite intelligent, and not 'slow' for if he has to go down to the basics and run. Also, he likes to do things in pairs, which can result in much more damage than the two spells would do individually. Also, many of his spells can do major damage but are not terribly hard to preform.
Nanashi's use of wordology also makes his spells slightly easier to preform, and put together with his large amount of mana, can mean that he can keep casting spells for a long time.
Weaknesses: Nanashi's use of wordology means that a truly observant opponent can start easily predicting his next move if he uses a single spell many times. This can be a serious problem in a long battle, especially paired with the fact that Nanashi has a low stamina, so regardless of the fact that he has large amounts of mana, if he has to move, he will very quickly run out of stamina.
Also, much of Nanashi's fighting style revolves around his scrolls, which can be taken away from him, and once taken away from him, cannot be used. If that happens, he is reduced to elementalism, which, though he is by no means a novice at, he is no master. Furthermore, if he cannot use his scrolls, then he is reduced to either his few worded spell or made up ones without words.
Adding on to all of this, Nanashi's strength is low, and even if he is reasonably fast, he is only average, and also is entirely incapable of predicting an opponents move except if they do things in very obvious patterns. To put it simply, when forced to go physical, Nanashi is close to the worst.

Word(s): "Extend."
Cost: 2 (Will be less once refined).
Notes: New. Only been used once, planned to use more times.
Weapons/Gear: Nanashi's sword, normally, is just one blade. However, there are actually two blades directly side by side, and the handle is split in half except for three pegs, one of which acts as a hinge. Using the small amount of elementalism that Nanashi knows, he can break the other two pegs, turn one of the "halves" 180o, and repairing them, resulting in a blade on both sides of the handle. The sword has straight blades, unlike Nanashi's Japanese lineage would suggest, with two edges.
