Name: Keiko Nihara
Occupation: Apprentice Paper Mage
Nationality: Japanese
Height: Five foot Three Inches
Weight: One hundred and eight pounds
Age: Seventeen
Hair Color: Redheaded
Eye Color: Silver/blue
Appearance:
Her short red hair goes down to her shoulders. It's long because she likes it that way and not for any other reason really. She usually wears tight shirts that fit her body like no other. Short skirts reminescent of her japanese high school days. She usually has a smile on her face and is bright and cheerful. Her eyes are an odd color some say the color of the paper that she uses was infused into her beautiful blue eyes at birth. But the silver/blue seems to captivate people around her. Her face is angular and beautiful. She was a model when she wasn't at Arcane.
Personality: Bright and cheerful. Keiko is the eptitomy of happy go lucky. A girl that could be thrown straight into the classification of cheerleader. She is always ready, willing, and able. That is of course unless rodents are around. She is deathly afraid of rodents of any kind. Caged or not they freak her out to the begeezus belt and she screams. Climbing on furniture and throwing anything she can get her hands on at them. She hates spiders too but rodents.. ahhh yes rodents are indeed the dowfall of the girl. But she usually has a bright smile on her face a cute attitude that just warms people up instantly. She is usually ready to do anything and ready to have fun.
History:
Kieko Nihara was born in a small little farming town of Hokaido. Her family there raised dairy cows. You may think it was a quiet life out in the quiet fields and the barns in Hokaido. But alas it didn't last long when her mother a mangaka was then transfered to Tokyo when her main published book began to take off. Talk of anime release and future volumes of manga were then planned and the girl was uprooted and placed in Japanese society, also known as Tokyo.
Tokyo was indeed a big adjustment for the young girl but with her carefree personality it didn't seem to take long before she was integrated with society. The culture and the fun times she seemed to fit right in. She had seemed to stand out in farming life but here it was different and she loved it. Thrived in it. And seemed to just flourish. As she grew up she tried to draw manga like her mother but somehow ink and her just never got along. Her hand could not draw the characters but the stories were always in her head.
She found herself spending time on rainy nights folding origami. It was something to do when wrapped in a summer kimono after a fresh bath and sitting listening to the rain. It was that soft white noise that would send her into an almost meditative state where she could then let her fingers dance across the papers. It wasn't until later she realized it was not only her natural dexterity with her fingers but also a bit of magic thrown in. When in fact her magic didn't wake for a long time. Her family having no history it was only a fluke when a paper seemed to dance across the room when there was no wind or window open.
She seemed to find a nack. That her paper could do what she wanted it to. Not really that it was invincible or anything nifty like that but instead she found that she could indeed manipulate it. She was able to fold the most complex origami without even having to touch the paper all she had to do was think about it. But at first she had to get used to her powers. Every time she used her powers it seemed that she got a headache. But Keiko perservered and worked at it daily and began to find that she could do more and more.
Her skills began to improve and she found that not only could she control paper and it's folding but it's movement as well. She could use her paper to form into weapons that she needed and she couldn't help but be excited. She worked on her skills even harder. She wanted to study it though. She knew that she couldn't be the only person out there with a gift like her own. For that seemed rather foolish. So she researched. Researched and found a connection to the magical world that was able to provide her with the information for the Arcane Academy. After being tested by the Tracers she was then sent up to the school so that she could perfect her studies while her parents think she got early admission to a college.
Style
Paper Mage: Using paper and that is it she focuses her mana into the paper that is her weapon, armor, or attacker. She does not have to touch the paper in order to infuse the mana and she can call or summon paper from around the room so long as it is there. She cannot however create paper from trees or anything so she must carry paper with her at all times or she is defenseless. Using origami she creates beings like swans that will enable her to use them in battle as well.
Strengths: Her bright optimistic attitude rarely lets her get down. She enjoys her life and loves living it and will fight to keep it. She is also strong and fit. After being a model and a cheerleader for years her body is not only developed but strong and her endurance is great for everyday things. She is determined and uses her paper well to her benefit to fight and protect.
Weaknesses: Her fear of rodents is a major downfall. Be they the small gerbells or mice or the ROUS's rodents drive her nuts and she cannot handle being around them. She has no healing spells. As paper is a damaging rather than healing magic. She is small in size and stature which gives her the cute and cuddly look but also doesn't leave her as strong as some of the opponents she might fight. Must have paper to do spells.
Spell List:
Crane: Using origami cranes in battle she can cast up to ten at a time out to attach her enemies. Unless damaged the cranes can be used time and time again with the cost of one mana. The damages are of course fire and water.
Paper Cut: Using eight peices of paper she forms her paper into a sturdy sword. Granted fire and water are weaknesses for all the attacks it still could be useful. It is strong as any normal sword unless hit by the two elements. Costs 2 mana.
Scroll Missle: Using a roll of parchement like the olden days and putting a bit of mana behind it she can shoot the missle at the people across the field. Upon impact the papers fly from within it's folds and slice into the people around the missle. Costs 6 mana.
Paper Barrage: Using a noteook, memo pad, loose reem, or just paper in general she will summon her mana to have the paper attack the people that are aimed at. Costs 1 mana and can be used multiple times. Cuts range from paper cuts to minor injuries.
Arrow Shot: Forming an arrow out of paper and then using her mana she can send it through an enemy as good as any bow. However currently she can only shoot one at a time. Costs 2 mana.
Glider: Forming a glider out of pure paper she can scout an area if she has a high position to launch from. However, she can indeed fall if the water or fire comes in contact with her glider. Costs 4 mana.
Sheild: Using paper and forcing mana to flow through it hardening it to perfection she can use it to stop bullets and protect herself from ranged attacks with weapons and sometimes magic as well. Again the barrier has it's weakness. Also the person behind the barrier cannot see whats going on in front of them. Costs 2 mana.
