Name: Kelsie Sky
Occupation: Apprentice Healer
Nationality: American
Height: 5'5
Weight: 110lbs
Age: 15
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Frosty blue
Appearance:
Long blonde hair falls down to Kelsie's hip. It is full and silken well cared for and beautifully straight. It can be curled when she wants or needs it to be but mainly she lets it fall straight down her back. Her skin is pale and relatively flawless. She in thin and not very muscular as she doesn't work out much aside from some weight training to keep her toned. Her skin is smoothe and soft to the touch. It has a rich quality that girls dream of. Her eyes are hazel and remain unseeing. She has a small and slight look about her. She is small and petitie with a perfect figure and a small waist. Her clothing ranges from jeans and a tshirt to dresses and skirts.
Personality: Kelsie is a quiet and shy girl. Usually keeping to herself she finds she enjoys playing the piano and reading. Though blind she doesn't let that stop her from doing many things thought impossible. With an infinity for music she can hear and repeat what was playing having only heard it once or twice. She is usually by herself in life and doesn't like to depend on others for anything though with her disability it is sometimes like that. She has learned a lot from life and knows when to listen. You'll often see her staring off into space but it is only because she is thinking or contemplating something. Her mind is constantly at work. A smile is often seen on the young girls face as are blushes around boys. She is unused to such attention and being shy the blushes come.
History:Kelsie Marie Sky was born on April 11th. It was a rather sunny day in the middle of the afternoon when her first cry was heard echoing through the hospital room. There was no father to speak of. Vicki Sky was a single mother at sixteen years old and without a friend in the world. At first she thought she could take care of the girl on her own. Working all the time it was just what happened. But before they left the hospital that next fateful day the doctors had some bad news for the young mother. Her daughter was blind. Blind from birth she could and would never see. A genetic trait it seemed that was passed through one blood line or another had marked the girl for it's own.
Her mother was devestated. Not only had she had a baby on her own but now she had a daughter that wouldn't be able to do anything. One that she would have to constantly watch and actually care for. So she and her daughter moved back home because it was the only option. Yet, her grandmother was none too pleased to have her daughter and granddaughter in the house. The baby cried all night suffering from calic and no one would help her. Grandmother Bell decided that if her daughter was going to have a baby then she damn sure was going to take care of it herself. But what she didn't realize was that her daughter was already out running the town once more leaving her baby in her crib all day and her mother alone.
Over time Grandma Bell began to take care of the young girl who's smile was bright and her eyes though blind had some sparkle in them. Her daughter however, was out of the house all the time and when the baby's first words were 'Momma' they were directed at her grandmother. Growing up was hard as her grandmother though loving was a harsh and strict woman. Making sure that despite her ailment the girl was not excused from anything. Cleaning house, cooking dinner, and even making her own clothing. Years went by and when she was twelve her grandmother died of a heart attack in her bed and it was Kelsie that found her that fateful morning. Her mother didn't come home for days.
The death took it's tole on the already quiet and shy girl. But the state now knew that the young girl though very smart had never been in school. So her mother was told to take care of the girl or she would lose her and the child support. That among other things, a new man, made her straighten up. Though she never called her real mom, mother, because for her, her mother had died that day Grandma Bell had passed away. She lived with Vicky for the next three years working hard in the house and attending a school for the blind close by. There she learned how to survive as a blind girl and adding that to the knowledge of running a house that she already had she was well versed in taking care of herself.
Her only friend in the world, one Brandon was her only playmate. He never minded the fact that she couldn't see but found games and fun things for them to do regardless. However, sadly, Brandon's mother pushed him into a more heightened form of education and sent Brandon away. The loss tore at the girl who then became a loner in a sighted world with no vision at all.
It was only recently that her newest problems began. Her mother had met a man that did not want children and least of all a disabled blind one. Her mother being the money hungry woman she had always been decided on the best course of action. Still in the same city so they could meet, she sent her daughter to live in an apartment close to a school that she could walk to and attend. The man, now her stepfather, supplied rent and spending money along with the seeing eye dog so long as she promised never to contact them unless they contacted her first. With subtle tears running down her cheeks she waved good by and let Harley lead her inside the nicely furnished and perfectly set up apartment where she was to live alone.
But it was not too long when she found that she did indeed have healing magic. For one day walking home from school the blind girl with her dog. The crosswalk told Harley that they could go across but some idiot in the city of New York decided that the young blind girl was only in his way. Harley jumped up knocking her out of the way and got run over. All she heard were his whines. She crawled over to him ignoring her own scrapes and cuts from being knocked down and picked up her golden retriever. Crying into his fur, the only friend she had left.. she cried longing and praying for some way to just bring him back to do anything as his heart stopped beating.
But suddenly as the girl screamed out in utter pain and loss a pure white light poured out from the girl. No wings or anything like that. Just pure unfiltered white light. Coming down as if from heaven above like a beacon. Almost as if God himself was bringing back the dog. When Harely moved and licked her face the spell was broken and that was the first time she had ever healed in her life.
The Tracers heard about the accidental display of magic and hurridly froze time to erase the memories of those effected. Now it was a UFO that had flown by abducted a girl and her dog. How horrible! But the girl and her dog along with her things were fine and happily living at the Arcane Academy where her skills could be worked on for better use.

Healing: As the name suggests she is a healer. Mental and physical pains and injuries she can heal. That is her job. She does not need to see to be able to heal just laying her hands on the person and knowing whether it's physical or mental is enough. Mental pain and angusih take a lot more mana to use that to heal physical wounds mostly because the mind tends to be stubborn to change. Not all her spells require touch to cast though the more serious the injury the closer she is the easier it is for her to heal. She does not attack nor would she want to. Having seen the damage one human, magical or not, can do to another she refuses to fight. Instead she remains passive and in the back ground as a healer and support staff.
Strengths: Her hearing has greatly become an asset. As said when one sense dies the other become more prominent. Her hearing takes up for much of her sight loss. She can hear from far distances and judge attitude by the sound of a voice. Judge movement by the sounds around them. She can use her cane to attack or to defend herself and her dog usually guides her if he's with her. She's very intelligent and knows when to fight and when to back away. She has a large knowledge of the world her main hobby being books. With her healing magic she is able to heal others and herself.
Weaknesses: Her main weakness is her lack of sight. She has no sight what so ever. The world for her is darkness like closing your eyes when about to fall asleep. Distracted easily by sounds she is often easy to throw off because of throwing objects in the opposite dirrection and so forth. Her dog can be distracted but many times she leave Harley at home and so he becomes obselete. The worst thing is she has little physical strength and once over come it is hard for her to get away. Easily confused as well just because it's so easy for her to lose her bearing in a situation. Because she is only healing magic that makes her vulnerable to attacks having only one defensive spell and no attacking spells.
