Of those I voted for Zelda, but currently my fav game is God of War. That game is just too cool.

Ididn't put god of war because i thought of it but then remembered i never played it or seen anything about it so i decided to keep it out. Also ik meant to put Prince of persia in.
Speakign Of PoP(Prince of persia) i really hop that the ps3 comes out soon with assasins creed because it is said to have amazing gameplay.

MGS FTW.
Guns. Stealth. Military Tactics. Neck Snapping. Ninjas. Political Intrigue. Bad Ass Characters. And a gene pool that just, won't, die.
The only game that has the potential to cram more awsome into it than this is Gantz. Nuff said.

I'm the other one who cast my lot in with MGS. You really just can't beat the AMAZING storylines and the gameplay style and execution. The series just reeks with style, and anyone here who's a real gamer can see it easily.
On the other hand, I'm quite disappoited that you put 'blargh' next to the Mega Man Series. You REALLY need to learn to respect your elders, game-wise. Mega Man rocks, no doubt about it.
Friggin' Kingdom Hearts fanboy.

You don't have KoTOR or KoTOR II, or any of the REALLLY good RPG games. Fable, WoW, Guild Wars, WTF man?!

My vote got cast for several reasons. One to prove to Xeryth that not only fan boys like Kingdom Hearts and two because they are freaking awesome games!! Okay I'm sorry but you can totally go through and play in all the old movies and stuff I watched when I was younger how awesome is that!? Anywho it's also because Star Ocean wasn't up there which Till the End of Time is my absolute favorite game.

Sorry, you just can't beat FFVII or, for you older fans, FFVI... Which must've been the best out of the entire series as of yet.... *I have High Hopes for FFXIII XD*

I think the more well-learned gamers of the world will stand behind me when I say that Fable simply does not deserve to be listed as 'one of the REALLLLY good RPG games'.
Fun game, no doubt. But nowhere near top marks in anything.
Oh, Madelyn, don't get me too wrong, I've played through and beaten both Kingdom Hearts game. I just didn't find them very engaging games, mostly good only for the 'shock value' of having Final Fantasy kiddos mixed with Disney people.
KH2 especially disappointed me. They took everything good from KH1 and cut it out, and instead tried to make us think we were playing Dynasty Warriors for Kids.
Oh, and Mr. Designer, sir? You CAN beat FFVII, easily.
FFVIII. ;D

Heh the FF series is my all time favorite series, but sadly XIII is eliminating turn based combat and redoing the materia system - is about to shoot Square Enix -
Anyways yeah FF wins hands down as the best all time series!
Halo should be up there, not for story but for replay value and for the sher fact that screaming long lists of curse words into a mic will not get you yelled at by parents! Trust me playing Halo 2 at my house new curse words were made up. Not sure how but somehow calling someone a puddle monkey is now offensive...

I honestly think that both the FF series as well as Halo series are highly, HIGHLY overrated.
Final Fantasy started off strong, but has any of you actually realized the crap you were playing past VIII? Let me break this down for you:
Final Fantasy 8: The first 'questionable' game in the series. Not too many fans of this one (except for me) because of it's over-serious nature and rather confusing magic/summon system.
Final Fantasy 9: Throwback to the 'old school' Final Fantasies, also received criticism for being just a bit too goofy, since Square toned down the serious factor from the previous game. Not to mention the most rediculous looking Rival since Kefka (no offense to Kefka, who was an amazing villian once you got past his looks) and the stupidest Deus Ex Machina final boss in Video Game History (yes, I will make that claim.) lends this one in the 'fun, but eh' category.
Final Fantasy 10: Not so much a game as an interactive Soap Opera. I couldn't even finish this one because the main character was seriously over-done in his whininess, the romance wasn't intriguing, and the father-son antipathy was stupider than crap.
Final Fantasy 10-2: If you've even played this game, I've already said enough.
Final Fantasy 11: Online. Ruins the Final Fantasy experience in my opinion. Too costly to run, both in the matter of gaming fees and necessary computer upgrades.
Final Fantasy 12: Dont' know enough to make a final judgment, but read on...
Final Fantasy 13: They're ALREADY in production of 13 without yet releasing 12 proves that 12 will most likely be a flop and they're struggling to cover it up.
As for Halo: Yeah, sorry to say, Junpei, but that replay factor isn't unlimited. I can't even play that game anymore, it bores me so. But i thought the storyline was really interesting for the series, I dont' know why people don't think so.

Me gots three things to say.
1: Megaman is relatively shit up-to-date, but is by far one of the best when you think "Classic shweetness"!!!!
2:FF VII and the original FF games are yet the only ones that do not suck total balls. FF XIII however looks like it should really bring back the franchise, however, as long as we really hope Square-enix tries. Hope lots. The track record is not good.
3: Online games should not count in this for one reason and one reason only. The fun depends mainly on who you meet and what you do, resulting usually in no or very lacking storyline. This, is something that (at least in current games) a truly memorable title needs.
Note: None of these are in chronological order.

I've played all the Zelda games and enjoyed most of them, and Mario 64 is still fun to pick up once in a while. I must say I was impressed by the innovative Kindom Hearts series, and FF has its moments too; maybe too many. It's a good thing we can count pretty high with Roman numerals, or they'd have to think up a new franchise *gasp!* with its own set of basic items and summon spirits that serve as the only similarity between the games that are somehow still inexplicably in the same series. The GC Metroid titles are excellent, but repetitive, and there was very little positive change between the first and second. GTA - I don't approve of any series of games in which you can get extra cash for things like killing hookers after making use of them, and so far, there's only one I know of where that's the case. Mega-Man - 'blargh' about sums it up, Mayon. As for MGS, I can't say, 'cause I've never played 'em , but they look good to me! I voted for the Tales games; all-around solid RPGs. The storylines twist and turn, good voice-acting, full-anime cutscenes, and they weren't turn-based, which is a plus in my book. Sure, I cant play the game with one hand and eat chips with the other, but it's a small price to pay. Selecting attacks from menus and praying over a player's guide that the opponent's 45% chance of causing some status problem doesn't come in is not my idea of entertainment. I almost crapped my pants when Phantasia was released in America for GBA, some eight years after its debut on the Super-Famicom in Japan only. If you can get past the sometimes-cheesy dialogue and aren't bothered by cartoony graphics, Symphonia for GC is awesome and has significant replay value, or at least I thought so.
