Talbot looked up, the pen was now wandering across the page of her notebook, recording for her and she was playing a solitary game of cat's cradle. She wanted this to sounnd better than she felt it would come out but this was all she had wanted to say so far.
"Most curses are genetic, passes along from one person to another- but with magic sometimes a water user will sire a fire user or a earth user will sire a wind user. Magic isn't genetically shared but in some familes they train and grow for specific types. I've heard that some familes do this for so long they can prevent future bloodlines from proper control of the magic not trained for."

"So more or less the fact is that everyone will have somethings taht will simply come naturally to them and others just don't know how to use other magics?" Jyo asked figuring what he had thought after reading all he knew was right. Some people could be widly skilled in most magic. While others became pontent in some types yet not in others.

Ziare raised her hand...
"So does that mean that if I'm more proficient at summoning and using fire then the other elements I use will lack in power?" she asked truly curious.

"From what i read, that is all i know" Byron said quietly to the class, his face warm and kind. "Indeed, i believe your theory in magic evolution may be correct. As magic alters the body of it's user, it becomes a genetic trait passed down, through advance evolution. Indeed, it is not uncommon for a family to be trained in fire magic so that a dozen generations later their descendants became quite good at fire, while it makes it difficult to control other elements. However though, difficult as it may be, it is still possible from what I've seen. Even those of A Controlled Line will still be able to train in other arts, even though their body isn't suited for it."
With that he paused, his face calm and relaxed as he stared at his class full heartedly. "Of course, this really only applies to focus technique magic. Non-focus techniques aren't affected by magic evolution, so usually those arts are picked up by a Controlled Line. However, I've still seen many, many mages pick up arts that are not best suited for their family, and become darn good at it as well. Why, I heard that Maedalus came from a Darkness Elemental Family, and yet is the among, if not the greatest Light User on Earth.....It all really depends on how much effort you put into things."
With that, he turned to face Ziare, looking at her kindly as he listened to her question. "Don 't worry" Byron said nicely. "Such a thing wouldn't occur to your in a life time as you seem to be among those who transfered here and do not have a Controlled Line."

"So what does the magic such as levetating and so force involve. Like you did with th chair's movment and the chalk and so on?" He asked. Jyo had read about phsycics and so on but this was different.
"Because I haven't read as to what field of magic that belongs to even though I have learned it." he said. Jyo was curious as to all magic. Even if he didn't learn to use it he wanted to know about it.

"That there was wind magic" Byron said happily, his face as usual. "By forcing the millions of air molecules moving around the chair and chalk board to touch the chair and move it, it have made it look like i was levitating it. Indeed, you guys would have expected something like a gust of wind to move the chair, but instead it's really this simple. However though, this is quite difficult, as you are focusing on one very small part of a large area, meaning that for those air users, this spell will be beyond your reach for a while. I myself learned this on the battlefield when i was facing down a group of Cultists. But enough of that, is there any other questions you would like to ask? Or shall I proceed to my next subject?"

So I DO have a basic grasp on another element. Granted it saps me a bit more than most. But I guess it's a good sign that I can do it at all. I'll just have to redouble my efforts now that I know what field it's in. I am certianly learning quite a bit from this man Jyo thought and he fell silent showing he was ready for the teacher to move on though he wouldn't speak for others.

"I have one more question. You said magic comes through the generations.. can it lay dormant. None of the family I ever met said anything about magic." she asked thinking back.

"Magic is not genetic" Byron said kindly. "You can learn it without having a heritage. Sometimes, people would accidentally activate a spell or power without even knowing it. I have heard of magic lying dormant, but it usually happens if the child doesn't now about their heritage and therefore doesn't know the power they have until they accidentally use it for whatever reason. It is probably your family may have kept hidden about their powers, or that you somehow activated a spell without even knowing it"

"I see, thank you sir." Ziare replied. Sitting back in her chair waiting for him to continue the lesson.

Ezra had no more questions to ask, at least not in front of the class. His curiousity over the energy theory was finally satisfied for now, but he still would feel the need to investigate further. Now he was just rushing to take in all the notes. If he wanted to, he could record class on his Mage Deck, but the possibility of it being released onto the internet was too big. So some teachers refused to let students record classes. unsure of this teacher's stance on recorded classes, he kept to written notes stored as digital data.
There were a lot of questions to take care of from all these students, but he was also really wanting to know what the next subject was. After all, new things were always ready to be learned, and he wanted, needed, to learn it all.

"Good then" Byron said kindly, his face all calm and warm. "Now that we have gotten the lectures done, let's go and do something fun. Don't worry though, there will be another tommorow so get ready."
With that Professor Byron soon gotten out of his lean and proceeded to press a button on the wall. With it, the entire wall just lifted up, revealing a large area behind it. Of course, this area wasn't secret now, as it was part of the training grounds in the school. Quietly he walked into it, telling others to do the same. The talking segment of class is over now, now is the physical element.
"As you guys quite know, The Academy is both a educational and paramilitary organization. You students today are our defense in the future. As such, we need to train you to tip-top shape. This therefore concludes the speech part of class, as now we go into the physical part. Quickly everyone, find a partner to spar with, and we'll have some supervised one-on-ones for a while until class ends, which is in about a half and hour. And if you don't find a partner, well, I wonder how fighting a teacher will be like to you guys. Good.... I got half on my lecture, and half on this."

Jyo let a smile creep over his face. Fight a teacher. I know I will lose but that would be incredible. He thought. Jyo's eyes still scanned the class. Naturally they fell upon Ziare but he didn't know if they would be fighting. He also spotted Talbot. But the two of them had already foguh each other before. He also wasn't too sure about Ezra.
No I'll god with Ziare. Besides I doubt she knows much about combat and I can make sure she learns instead of being overhwhelmed. He thought getting up when the rest of the class did and headed towards her.

Ezra began doing the math in his head. From the people he knew, the two were already paired up, and people were pairing up with their friends pretty quick. Of course, if he just sort of stayed still, nobody would notice him. At least, that was his hope, not that he had much of that. He figured that if he did fight against the teacher, at least the teacher would take it easy on him, but otherwise, he was giong to get maimed. No battle capabilities were installed on Zeke, and he barely knew anything about fighting.
He just had to hope things were going to go well for him. Like that ever happened. . .

Talbot got up and moved to Ezra, he seemed slightly unnerved by the announcement and she, feeling rather passive today- thought it would be best to see what he could do. Sure the instructor may go easy on him- but then again her father had never with her, so to spare this kid any embarassment or unexpected pain from the kindly appearing instructor, she had already found they were the only two left without partners. After all she had a light side and could be just as friendly as anyone else- who said she couldn't go easy?
Talbot pat him on the back, "We'll be partners on this assigment alrighty?"
