OOC- THis class in filled. Only Onira, Junpei, Xeryth, and Minji may post.
*I sat in the stillness of the classroom, arranged to fit my... physical needs. The seats had two feet of seperation from eachother, so I could walk without my wings smacking a student in the face. In my hand was the textbook we were going to be using today: The Offensive Darkness
It was an interesting book I had grown fond of. It showed the correct way to channel dark energy, even if someone wasn't evil. It was intreguing how someone as good as say... a cleric, could use dark magic.
I knew class was going to be starting soon, so I closed the book, and waited for the class members to enter.*

Onira stepped in, his white cloak dancing along with the steps. He stood in the doorway for a second, seeing he was one of, if not the only student there so far. However, that didn't really intrigue him. What did intrigue him was the class itself. Or, more importantly, the teacher. He looked strange, but Onira thought strange things fascinating, even when one may think them ugly. He liked the unknown. It made him feel more... human. Among other things of course.
"Howdy teach!"
The seventeen year old continued in, followed swiftly by his long blond hair. Lucky there wasn't too much, if any sunlight in the room. That way people wouldn't be intrigued with his odd hair and it's glow in the sunlight.
Onira took a seat swiftly, at the top of the class. He spoke to the teacher once he sat down.
"How's your day going?"

Junpei Taltos walked into the rom for his Dark Arts class. He loved studying dark arts, mainly because it would allow him to summon more powerful and more dangerous demons. Almost like the one standing at the head of the class today. Who better to learn from though?
Boss, I think the teacher is a demon, are we sure it's safe to be in -
Yes Loish it is safe to be in here. He would be dead long before he made it in here if he was bad, well... you know what I mean. Anyways who better to learn the dark arts from?
Junpei looked around the room and noted a one, rather loud, golden haired boy in the room. Shaking his head tt himself Junpei took a seat a couple rows back and on the left side of the class, so he could put his back to a wall if the chairs allowed it.
"nice to see you sir."
Junpei said with a casual wave to the teacher. Loish curled into a ball on Junpei's left soulder and went to sleep, he hated calss. Probably because talking, for extended periods, had always bored the jhereg.

The kids came in and took their seats, all of them kindly greeting me. True, they all loved me, but perhaps some said it out of fear. Someone with my appearance certainly strikes fear into those who do not know me...
Onira entered, greeted me, sat, and asked me a question.
"My day has been exquisite, thank you."
More entered, finally, the bell rang, and class began. I stood up, my wings tucked against my body tightly.
"Good afternoon class. Welcome, yet again, to Dark Arts. Today, we will be reviewing the offensive aspect of the dark arts. Now, we all have the feeling that dark energy comes from dark beings. Wrong. Dark energy is even inside the most noble of paladins and clerics. If one wanted to, a cleric could use a dark spell like Shadow Tendrils. So, today, we will learn the root of dark energy, it's dangers, and now to focus it."
I said, scanning the room. I reached to my podium and grabbed the textbook. I nodded to my teacher assistant, a young, pretty black haired girl, who began to hand out the books to the class.
"These are your Dark Arts text books. They cover origin, offense, defense, and other things of the sort. For the next semester, these are going to be your bible."
I waited until each student had one.
"Now, open to page seven, and read the first passage to yourself. In five minutes, you will answer some of my questions."
The dark arts are something most fear. Why? Is it because of their destructive power? Their menacing appearance? How at times they torture a victim to death? Possibly. But most fear comes from stereotypes. Whenever a world problem arises with a tyrannical lord or something of the sort, dark magic is always blamed as being the weapon of evil.
What people fail to realize is that dark magic is a weapon just as much as ice, nature, or even light. Some of it has to do with fear. Children fear the dark, so it is only natural that adults fear dark magic.

Sitting off in the corner, apart from the other students, was a young, rather scared-looking boy. He seemed to be afraid of everything in the room: The books on the Dark Arts, the other students in the room, and especially the instructor standing before them. Having been a student for a while at the Academy, Xeryth should have grown expectant to see such strange beings such as demons and angels walking about, however, he was still scared witless anytime he was in class with most of them.
He was handed his book on the dark arts, and was told to read. He did so silently, without a second thought. His eyes quickly darted over the words on the page, explaining an introduction to the world of dark magicks, how they are so powerful mostly only because they are feared to be such. It was a lesson Xeryth understood well. Perception is reality, if there was anything he had learned in his years of confinement, it was that.
With his reading finished before the rest of the students, as was the usual for him, Xeryth's head peeked up just a tad, studying the other people in class. Aside from the usual, nondescript students, two stood out, one in flowing white robes and the other with a small dragon-type creature sleeping next to him. The boy with the dragon was unimpressed at the loud, but exuberant other student. Xeryth took this all in silently, waiting for the teacher to ask about the reading, or have them move on to other readings.

Onira looked at the pretty, black-haired girl. A teacher's pet would be an avid description, however, it was hardly mean. It was correct. If not politically, then by thought at least. She was a teacher's pet. But the word "pet" was a little degrading. That's why they prefer the name "Teacher's assistant". Much more official. Among other things.
Onira eyed the girl as she placed a text book on his desk. He was intrigued with her, but she disregarded him, almost coolly. Onira thought one word to himself. Ouch!
The pit demon teacher told everyone to read the first passage of the seventh page, and the students followed in perfect sync. Sort of creepy, but whatever. Onira didn't really care. It was obvious some of the students recognized him. He saw many people from his house next to the academy, and quite liked the conversations that it brought. It kept him... informed. Among other things of course.
The young man's eyes scanned the page, letting the passage go through his mind. He had heard it before on a few separate occasions, most of the time by his teacher. A fairly common phrase. At least to him.

Dark Arts....
On her schedule sheet, it said that she had Dark Arts in classroom one today - Dark Arts? The first thing that popped into her mind when she saw those two words were Black Magic. Would the teacher be teaching black magic to the students? Pondering upon the thought, she pushed it aside, making her way towards the classroom. She thought about other stuff related to Dark Arts though, like how - if you thought about it - Minji already knows how to use Black Magic, since she can manipulate the shadows and darkness, but she knew that it wouldn't be that kind of Black Magic. Perhaps something a little more...dangerous? It bothered her a bit how they might be learning how to use Black Magic instead of learning how to defend themselves with it - who knows? Anyone in the school attending this classroom would be able to play cruel tricks with others. However, Minji wasn't so sure about the topic, so she would have to wait and see later on.
Today, Minji wore a white button down shirt - or what some call it, a blouse? - with a black sleeveless shirt underneath it, and the middle button the only on fastened. Along with that, dark blue jeans hugged her waist perfectly, with white ankle socks which you can't see, and a pair of white sneakers to finish it off. Her dark purple like hair was let down today, layers just falling at her shoulders, her bangs off to the side so they weren't in the way of her eyes. Eyes... The first thing she saw when she stopped in front of the door was some kind of demon. Her still face showing no expression, her dull, unexcited eyes staring at the demon for a moment, before moving on to the back of the room. She wasn't very surprised that a demon would be teaching them this class - there's no one, or no thing, better to teach a class of Dark Arts.
She took a seat in the rear of the room, setting her items on her desk while she leaned back against her chair, her dark brown orbs scanning the area to see only a couple of students in the room. The teacher began to speak, and Minji gave half her attention to the teacher while the other half was on the text book given to her. As the teacher instructed, she turned to page seven, and began to read the following text:
The dark arts are something most fear. Why? Is it because of their destructive power? Their menacing appearance? How at times they torture a victim to death? Possibly. But most fear comes from stereotypes. Whenever a world problem arises with a tyrannical lord or something of the sort, dark magic is always blamed as being the weapon of evil.

Xallas - how her parents spoke of him often. Well, it isn't a surprise - he was a researcher of Darkness, and one of her parents had the power to manipulate the Darkness, along with Minji herself. Back at "home" a long time ago, books written by Xallas were on the shelves, stored neatly at the top. After finished reading, she looked back up at the teacher, her still face lacking in expression - she was waiting patiently for the next set of instructions and the questions he was going to give in a couple of minutes or so.

Boss this is why i don't let you go to class, stuff like this keeps happening.
Stuff like what Loish...
The creepy kid in the back, he seems..off.
Just drop it Loish.
Junpei smiled sweetly at the girl as she dropped off a book and then put his dark expressino back on, Harlow had been near him earlier and now he was in his "evil" mood. The girl stayed at his desk a second before moving on to the next desk. Junpei couldn't help but mentally laugh.
Boss you're mean.
Shut it Loish
Junpei flipped open the book and opened to the desired page. Eyes scanned quickly over the page and it's words. Dark arts, they truly were not the root of all evil. Junpei usually chaulked that up to greed and lust for power. Reading the entire thing in roughly 12 seconds or so Junpei looked back up at the teacher and turned in his desk, sitting sideways so his back was to the wall. Loish moved quickly to keep his tail from getting squished and sat down in Junpei's lap. Once again he curled into a small ball and dozed off for a bit.

*After the five minutes were up, I opened my book to page seven and looked at the class.*
"Interesting words, no? Xallas was a very intelligent man. He knew things other's minds couldn't comprehend. He wrote several volumes on dark magic, each one we will read something from. But not all today. As for the passage, he showed us an interesting view of the topic."
*I scanned the class and chose a student in my head.*
"Onira. If dark magic isn't always looked down on because of its past uses, why do people dislike it so much?"
OOC- Onira posts next, then me. No others.

Onira's ears perked slightly, listening to the teacher. He was starting to get, at least a slight respect for him. He seemed bright enough, and carried a wisdom of many years. However, to Onira, that wisdom more came through the sort of aura that surrounded him, not so much his words. Onira coughed lightly before starting. Not to sound intelligent or nothing, his throat just had a bit of an itch, which happened to strike at that particular moment.
Orbs moved to the teacher as Onira raised his head.
"Not to be smart Mr..."
Onira then remembered that he didn;t get the name of the teacher. Oh crap.
"Well, I don't know your name, but, to clear it out of the way, one doesn't need a textbook to tell him why dark magic is feared. That's like saying why is a bloody axe handing over your head feared? It's all the fear of what one does not know. The darkness, like blood, is something one does not know. It is something that we, as humans, involuntarily associate with pain and destruction. The darkness and the shadows spark images and idea in our minds, that we have no control over. Now of course, this applies only to the majority, because I know that there are some who do not fear the darkness or shadows, but overall, the fear of dark magic is primal. It is the fear of what we do not understand."

*I smiled as he spoke, my grin growing wider and wider. He was right. I rose my hands and began to clap.*
"Mr. Onira. Never before had I heard the word 'fear' stretched out into so many sentences." I said, some of the kids laughing. "But, in your own way of putting it, you are correct. You fear what you do not know. Dark magic is something you usually do not know. Therefore, you fear dark magic."
*I walked back to my podium and rested my hands on it.*
"Xallas was a man who knew a lot, but presented it in simplistic ways. He could carry on for hours about the ins and outs of the darkness, but instead, he would biol a two hour lecture down to one word... fear."
*I walked over to the chalk board and gave a nod to my assistant. With a wave of her hand, my fingertip turned to hard chalk. I scribbled some notes down on Xallas.*
Xallas. Born in Ireland. Graduated a university at 17. Wrote his first book at 18. Became world renouned at 20.
*I stopped there. I looked to the class, most of them staring at my chalk fingertip. When they realized I was staring, they looked at me, then the board.*
"These are some notes on Xallas. Now, think about it. He graduated from a university at 17. That is something that almost none have done. Then, by the time he was 23, he had written six volumes on dark energy, dark manifestation, and things like that."
*I said as I wrote the notes onto the board.*
"Xallas died twelve years ago at the age of thirty-three, due to an unknown ailment. By the time he died, he wrote eleven volumes of material, and led three world demonstrations, showing his findings to world leaders."
*I looked to the class. Then, I centered my attention on Xeryth.*
"Xeryth. How do you think Xallas died?"

Xeryth looked up in shock, amazement, and not a little bit of fear. The instructor had spoken to him, and to him alone. Furthermore, he had not just spoken to him, but asked a question of him.
Oh no! What? This... he wants me to give a hypothesis? Oh great...
His mind-stalling trailing off, Xeryth's eyes reverted from their previous state of shock to the usual meek state of being. He was definitely not one for speaking out in a crownd, and here he was, singled out and being made to do just that.
"Well, sir... Mr. Halsephea..." Xeryth had not known the teacher's name beforehand, it was just another side effect of his psychic abilities, and by the time it came out of his mouth, it was too late. Xeryth cupped his hands over his mouth, embarrassed that he had done such a thing. The other students wouldn't know what was going on between the student and the instructor, but Halsephea, having not spoken to the student directly before now, would.
"Excuse me sir..." he stuttered, before beginning to continue on with his answer. "Xallas was a prodigy, obviously... brighter than any other of his time. It is a shame that he died at such an early age. He did so much in such a short amount of time, however..." Xeryth stopped, he was about to get to his point, and was worried that he was wrong. Gulping, he attempted to get himself back on track.
"He accomplished so much, sir, that it's almost not possible to do so by his own means. He most likely used his findings on Dark Magick to aid him in a more... 'hands-on' manner, using the actual techniques instead of just knowledge of the theory..."
Another awkward pause, Xeryth was not used to speaking this much, but had to get it out for him to answer the question.
"The new abilities opened new gateways, and he learned more by it than ever possible. This led to his downfall, I'm led to believe. He fell too deeply into the dark magicks, and soon they began to consume him. Rather than control it, however, he began to fear it himself. And, as Onira said, it is the fear that allows the darkness to overcome the user, and as such..."
It was the driving point, and he stopped again, trying to work the words out as best he could.
"He... he was completely enveloped by the darkness he tried so hard to understand."
Xeryth looked even paler than usual, and the fear in his face was evident as he waited to see if his answer held any weight with the instructor.

The door opened, and shut loudly, almost too loudly, as though it had been slammed.
A gigantic man, not too much shorter than the Pit Demon that was teaching the class, came in. Carrying a few books, he walked toward the middle row of seats, and sat. He knew he was late, but he wasn't one to audibly recognize it. He waited for his teachers lesssons...

*I listened to his every word. He was nervous, that much was clear. It was annoying though, feeling his mind sneak into mine, getting my name. When he finished, I had one eyebrow raised and a grin peaking out.*
"So, your theory suggests that the very darkness he studied did away with him. Not bad... Oh, and if you ever probe my mind again, my nail will probe your skull."
*I look to Junpei.*
"You next. Give me another possibility."
*Then, the door opened and shut loudly. Priest entered.*
"You're late... You will spend lunch with me in detention. IF you are not there, I will hunt you down."
*I said with a smile, despite the fact I was serious.*

Junpei watched both Onira, as he had JUST learned the guy's name and this nervous little guy speak. They both gave respectable answers, but what the nervous kid haad said was quite interesting. Being swallowed by the darkness eh? That could work, but Junpei's mind was already wrapping around another theory.
No sooner had Junpei finished mentally mapping his theory out when he was called on to give another plausible theory. Junpei took in a quick breatha dn then answered.
"Although being swallowed into one's own fears in good in theory, there is the possibillity that at the same instant he opened a rift something could have come through. It's common knowledge that demons and devils can in through such portals and often do. Because of this we are also able to assume that a devil or demon could have simply taken the man back into the rift. Although this is highly unlikely all of this hinders on wether or not a body was found adn if an autopsy was done. The likelyhood of such an event occuring is slim, but there is a possibility. For that very reason there is no way we could dismis it unless evidense is presented that states otherwise."
Junpei stopped for a second but took another quick breath to signal he wasn't done, he just needed to catch his breath and get on with the rest of his theory.
"The lack of evidense however does not mean that we can state there is no evidense of any event occuring. The absense of evidense does not mean the absense of evidense. Point in case being a murder committed and the weapon being dismantled or thrown away. New evidense is always arriving to support one claim or another throughout history and with that simple fact we can say that, if given time, the true answer could come to us."
Junpei sat back against the wall again once he was finished and set his hand on Loish's back, giving him a soft pet before crossing his arms over his chest, signaling he was done and the teacher could move on.
