There was a long silence, everyone looking at each other, after the Professor's question came. Finally getting impatient, as Jonathan observed, the professor decided to threaten them, to see their reaction. To his front left, he saw the spiky-haired blonde kid tense up a little. "What are you all, doing here? None, of you, know what, Magic, isss?" Still nothing from the class. Jonathan began to wonder if he should have to break his silence. "Well, then I will, have to, talk to the Head, Magician, about your, removal from our, Premissesss." A threat. Sergent's always used them, except, the difference with Sergents, like Benzel, was that they usually followed up with them. To his front left, he saw the spiky-haired blonde kid tense up a little. Fortunately, it didn't take too long for one of them to crack. The asian man to Jonathan's right raised his hand, high up into the air, looking at the professor determindly. "..Sir. Professor. Magic can be a variation of things. But for the most part, it is the alteration of things, by mankind, by what would normally be said, 'supernatural means' such as demons altercating our bodies or something physical, sometimes on the ocassion the spirit and/or mind, manipulation of our soul to either heal or destroy by means of other further altercations that usually require the spoken word to envoke, and/or the simple thought, sometimes, the manipulation of our spirit and our bodies energy, combined, through means of more Oriental styles of magic... etc. Sir." A sound explanation in itself, Jonathan supposed to himself. Why certainly, yes, it was a sound explanation, not the best, perhaps, but, it would suffice. But he wasn't done. The more eldarly Asian looked around a little, a strange look in his eyes, before, continuing to say, "..Uh... sir, I may want to add that Darah, Lienn, a nameless man called the Priest, and myself were doing a quick study-group last night, sir. I believe it was Darah who reminded us about it, by looking through her text book, and then, those were the Lienn's words, except hers may have been more thorough, and for myself and the Priest.. we more or less reviewed the different styles and uses sir. I assure you, we have been an active class.. we may just be, still... a little shy, for just knowing you only recently. Sir."
Jonathan kept on staring. He couldn't believe what he just saw. This guy just lied to the teacher, didn't he? The suspicious head movement, the hesitation in the speech.. all pointed to one huge lie. Or maybe that was just his habit of talking? Either way, Jonathan's suspicions grew, a little distaste growing in his mind towards this person. Wasn't overly fond of liars, but, he stayed his neutral ground. He'd give him the benefit of the doubt, for now. The teacher nodded at this, although he too looked at Hakfu a little strangely. At least Jonathan wasn't the only one. However, Jonathan was slightly suprised to see the professor soon after, sit down in his chair, spin once, twice, three times..? ... in his chair, and then hold up both his hands, revealing a globe of fire in one hand, and a globe of electricity in the other. But why was he spinning? Twitch. The professor continued, as if nothing happened, going on, "Two basic elements. Fire, and Lightning. Both destructive." He paused to look at the blonde haired kid, Jonathan following suit, curious as to why. "Leon. Your electrical, as I've just noticed that your, practically, brisstling, with energy." So his name was Leon.. "I've, allssso, notiscced that, you have a, fondnessss, with Lienn..." Wait, what was that last part? Lienn... the girl he was sitting next to? "I guesss, she hasssn't, told you, about, 'The Priessst'. Either way, pleasse tone down your, energy, output." Mm... apparently, Leon was still a little on edge from the professor's threat. Jonathan couldn't blame him, really. "Leon. Tell me, how do, you harnessss, your Electrisscity?" Looking down, he realized that his sheet was still blank. Too enwrapped by the strange going-ons in the classroom. Quickly attempting to amend this, Jonthan began to write things down, as they were, little footnotes for later on.
"Thought. . . Emotion. . . Will." Alright.. so, Leon controlled his powers by thought, emotion, and will? So then, if he was distracted, his spell would go out elsewhere to its intentions, if he was angry, Jonathan figured he'd get more pissed, and well, as with anyone, if one's will to fight was broken, then, would they really try to use their powers, unless out of desperation? Jonathan made little notes on these things. Crucial footnotes, incase he ever fought alongside Leon on a mission, which was fairly possible in every aspect. The teacher also made note of this, remarking to himself, "So, through, your mind, you control, your thoughtssss? Thats, quite good, of you, Leon. And now, to our ne-" The teacher was soon interupted by a large screeching sound was heard outside. Jonathan played with the idea of turning around to see what it was, but, that would be disrespectful, so he resisted the temptation. But, with the door clicking open, Jonathan's ears perked up, a little bit sensitive to noise in such close proximity, even as subtle as it was being made. Ah, he couldn't resist. Turning around, he saw someone familiar. A person he had met, carrying around a ladder, over in front of the school. Torm? "I apologize for my rudeness and have no worthy excuses to offer." Jonathan turned his head back to his paper. Torm was a good guy. However, he noted that the teacher must've been getting fairly aggravated by these constant interruptions. "Please, leave your ladder, by the, door. Thank you. Now, for our next, subject... Magic is a ussseful, tool, isssn't it? So, whatss, the mosst, efficient, way of, controlling it? Lienn?"
Lienn. She jumped a bit at the teacher's sudden direction of the question to her, but, she soon recovered, and rather thoughtfully did so gracefully, going on with, "Well, sir, I'm not sure about the most effective way to control magic, but I do know one. Meditation. To control magic you must have a clear mind and unwavering concentration, and the 'most efficient way' to do that is through meditation.." Meditation. Something Jonathan did, but not really. Always had been more of a 'stay sharp' sort of thing, and ease into the battle, or get thrusted into it. Scarcely mattered to him, but, meditation.. yes, from what he had learned, some of the greatest minds had breached the walls of legends just through meditation. Had Director Lancastor gone through those walls? What about his own father, did he- "But..I'm sure there is a better way that you will, no doubt, enlighten the class with in the hopes of discrediting me, and possibly make me feel terrible about my meager, uneducated existence...sir?" Cocky. Jonathan shuddered slightly, supressing a little laughter. Wow. The only time he had seen such insubordination, was in new-arriving privates, which, even then was rare, considering the fact that most in the D-13 were previously in the U.S. Army before joining the D-13, after magical talents were found in them. What would normally follow that would be seeing the private get his head screamed off, followed by getting his ass kicked, until he managed to do the thousand push-ups that he'd been immediatly signed. Wasn't pleasant to watch. The professor, however, chuckled a little, something that seemed to be taken by the class with great suprise. Evidently, this was a rare occurence.
"Indeed. A good, ansswer, if I do, say so. Of course, there is no , one sssingu, lar form of concentration. So, I must ask again, this time, a new question. You are all magic users, yes. Now, from each of you, I want one spell, and to hold, it in, front of you. I will, talk to each, one of you, about it." Wonderful, a snag, something that wasn't expected. Lienn, in front of him, he could see, held up her bag in midair, using nothing. Perchance, was she telekinetic? He'd seen some of his comrades do something similiar, usually when they were new and wanted to show off, or when they were bored, and wanted to entertain themselves, or it was for doing some daily things to bring ease to their lives, or if they were single, and had a magazine of scantly clad women and wanted to use both their ha- Nevermind. Jonathan shook his head. That just wasn't clean. No sooner had he broke that thought until yet another student, evidentally having signed up late for the class. Apparently, he was in a huge hurry, because by the time he had stopped rushing through the door, his head was planted squarely on the wall. Lienn was among those to shriek at the sudden disruption, a clattering heard, as her bag fell. Torm too, jumped at "I am soooo sorry, sir! I'm new and I got really lost on the way. Anyway..." Falling onto his back, the new student got himself up, onto a desk, looking around. He was fairly close to Jonathan, but, Jonathan kept his attention, mostly to his paper, curious a little bit, as to why he was wearing a pirate suit. But, it would be rude to ask, and.. he still wasn't in the mood to talk. "So...what am I supposed to do?"
His attention was taken away by Leon, who began to power up his fist, as he held it before himself. Jonathan's eyes twinkled. His classmates were strong. But a light came from his side, making Jonathan blink for a moment or so, until his eyes readjust to this. Looking to his left, he saw Torm with a physically glowing ball of light. Jonathan's eyes widened a little bit, but not overly much. It was pretty bright, but.. very impressive. Let's see, he needed to start on up himself, now. He held up his left arm, looking at it. What could he do? Wait... alright. He'd use a partial 'Ghost', on his arm, to demonstrate a little bit. Filtering energy through his body, he began to focus. His mind began to go through a rapid series of steps, his eyes, widenening a little, as he seemingly saw through things..
Initiating Codename: 'Ghost'. Concentration: Left Arm.
Small twinges of energy began to cover his arm, down to the last hair, clothing included, his entire left arm disappearing, leaving a little visage of the inside of his left arm's seemingly stump apparent. No one could see his arm, only what was inside on the part of his body that he didn't make invisible. His concentration held, but, he began to wonder to himself if this was perhaps, the wisest thing to do, as, it may freak out people to be able to see inside of him..
