The hallways of Playmont High were always booming with great excitement as it was known as the best school in the district, and it truly had great programs through out all of them. They were the best at many sports, they had an excellent choir and band, and they also had the highest academic scores as well. It was a school that most considered the rich students to attend all the same, and there for, most students were well oriented and got along great. Sure, there was drama here and there, but all in all, it was pretty much the perfect place to be and parents urged to get their students accepted to such a great place. The location was also great, having a huge space, the school was huge with four floors! Get this, the first floor was only mean for the athletic department, the cafeteria, and the science classes too!
It was all in one huge rectangle, it being longer in width then it is in length. The school stretched out for many feet, and it consumed a great amount of land! They had their track and football field to the right of the building, and the parking lot went all around all connected around the school so students could get in at all angles, the back of the school held the buses though.
Still, even with all of this, there was one thing which this school lacked, and that was a proper theater department. Until just recently they built an auditorium up behind the commons replacing an old gymnasium that was never used there, and they hired a new teacher to do the job. Still, the students in Playmont High really weren't very excited about it, and there was only enough room for one theater class in the entire school. This theater class only had thirteen students, all ranging from freshman to senior. This was the first day back in Playmont High, and students were having fun with greetings. Still, right after lunches, fifth period, the theater class had started, and students were in place in random desks, not many getting along.
"Welcome students, I will be Mr. Glisk, your theater teacher," a man announced standing on the auditorium stage. All the thirteen student's were spread apart in random seats none knowing each other before this day. Well, at least not knowing each other personally, some knew the others by rumors.
Mr. Glisk wore himself a black blazer jacket, nice navy blue pants, and a white button down shirt. He had short wavy black hair, and a black goatee on his face, his eyes were nothing special, just that plain brown colored look. He was of course, these students captain, and was going to lead them to the first ever play in this school. Yes, it was going to be a great day for them.
"Alright, so I suppose it would be best if I get attendance," Mr. Glisk spoke with a confident smile as he looked down at his pupils in front of him. He was glad that he was going to be able to bring something into this school, and they looked to be such good quiet students.
It's to bad he didn't know how hard a path he had chosen...
"David Cook."
"Here," a puberty struck voice spoke as this sophomore student raised his hands. Mr. Glisk's brown eyes moved over to the hand that was up in the air getting his attention as he then gave a nod of his head as he noted this guy. He was wearing a nice white button down shirt, a black vest, and tacky colored pants. Yes, definitely one of the more average dressed boys at this school, and Mr. Glisk assumed he wouldn't be having much trouble with him.
"Tod Donaldson."
"What?" an annoyed voice asked as dark brown eyes stared up at the teacher, and the chilling low voice spoke out. Mr. Glisk's eyes moved onto the kid with a bit of an unsure look not knowing really what to say in a situation like this. He was staring at what seemed to be a spawn of the devil almost, he had short black hair, and brown skin, that of a Mexican. The horrid attitude of this boy radiating with every second that Mr. Glisk looked at him.
"You got a staring problem?" Tod asked in a hissing like voice as he then stood up out of his chair, his white muscle t-shirt showing off the more muscular part of him as he seemed to be trying to start a problem with Mr. Glisk right then and there.
"Sit down, you're making a fool of yourself," a few of the other students laughed as Tod just gave a grunt deciding to ignore it for now, and then once the teacher's eyes were off him he gave him the middle finger sticking it up then sat back down in his chair going into a relaxed position.
"Bastard..." he muttered under his lips as Mr. Glisk went back to calling roll.
"Patty Hunt."
"Here," said a beautiful pitched voice as a pale hand raised into the air. Mr. Glisk gave a nod noting her beautiful blond hair going down to the back of her hair, and seeing those beautiful green eyes of her. Yes, he didn't have much of a problem with this girl, and she seemed to be one who could handle herself well in his class. He moved along to the next name as his eyes trailed onto his paper.
"Greg Kazim."
"Here," a light brown colored hand raised into the air as this Asian boy raised it up high. He wore himself a pair of glasses over his eyes, and he had an average toned voice. He was a junior here in this class, and by the looks that Mr. Glisk saw when his eyes focused on him, he was one of the more shorter guys of the crew.
"Tiffany Kin."
"Here..." said a very dull pitched voice as no hand was raised. Following the sound, Mr. Glisk's eyes reached an Asian girl with green hair dyed around the edges of her short block hair to what looked like to be a more goth like style. Mr. Glisk was a bit nervous about her, but she wasn't as bad as that other student he had recently encountered. Mr. Glisk gave a nod of his head after seeing her, then marked her off the list going on to the next one deciding to make little use of truly getting to know them for now.
"Kelly Lenson."
"Here!" said a kind enthusiastic voice as yet another hand raised into the air. Mr. Glisk's eyes moved to see a brown haired girls pale hand in the air, and a smile on her face as if she was the only one actually wanting to take this class. Mr. Glisk returned the smile with one of his own nodding his head then marking her off as she put her hand back down looking down at what seemed to be a book, but Mr. Glisk couldn't tell.
"Knox McClosky."
"Wha? Uhh... Here! I'm here! Right here!" a very annoying in the nose type pitch spoke as Mr. Glisk took note of the boy. Definitely one to have problems with the rest of the class, he could tell that. Mr. Glisk gave a nod of his head as the boy waved his hands, and finally calmed down. Yes, the freshman of the crew, and a weird one at that. Mr. Glisk marked him off.
"Jim Morrison."
"Here," a very annoying voice spoke, in a deep tone constipated like sounded voice. Mr. Glisk looked at his face, and had a hard time trying not to twitch. The guy had zits all over his face, and it was surprising he was even able to sit in his chair! The red headed fat kid was just odd, and one thing that most stereo typing people knew, fat kids had a short fuse! This was going to be a tough one to look out for.
"Tommy Rush."
"Here," said a friendly voice of a man who was leaning back in his chair raising his right pale hand up in the air. He looked to be yet another one of the average kids, but maybe one of the only ones who Mr. Glisk just felt some trustworthy vibe coming off of. He had short blond hair, slightly big ears, and blue eyes, he was definitely just one of the better guys out of the crew. Mr. Glisk gave a nice smile as he gave a nod of his head then continued on the with the nearly finished list.
"Kenny Stanford."
No response.
"Kenny?"
No response.
"Hey, wake up you dumb ass white boy!" a person yelled behind the a sleeping guy then quickly slapped him by the back of his head. The boy woke up blinking a few times before looking up. He had black curly hair, and he had blood shot eyes as he looked up slightly with a dull stare. Mr. Glisk just nodded his head checking him off before moving on.
"Jessica Truden."
"Here," said a very preppy voice as a limp wrist moved up in the air. You could see her head down, and a small light being shown, one that looked like that of a cell phone. The beautiful senior was known to be one of the best looking, but was also known to be pretty dense by fellow students. Mr. Glisk signed her off before moving on having only a few names left to run through.
"Jeffory White."
"Yo!" said a black man with baggy clothing, and chains dangling down from his neck. He raised his hand with two fingers up, and Mr. Glisk recognized him. He was the one who slapped Kenny when he was sleeping. Mr. Glisk knew he would have to look out for this one because he looked like one of those people who took every single little thing in a racist way. The last name on the list made it known there was probably two junior twins in their class.
"John White."
"Here," oddly enough, unlike his twin, John seemed to be on the more kind side. He was wearing a black t-shirt, and black jeans, yet nothing baggy like Jeffory's. You could make out the difference of these identical twins mainly by what they wore. Obviously they weren't close either because they were sitting no where near each other.
"Alright, now that we got the whole, formalities out of the way, it seems there really isn't anything planned in my free time, so I guess you got the day free..." Mr. Glisk spoke looking at his blank lesson plan for the day. It seemed that the school really didn't have any guide lines for him, it was bad enough they gave him a crappy funding for the whole theater department anyways, but now this. Mr. Glisk decided he would just get to know them by what they are doing. He noticed that Tiffany and Greg were more in the whole studying thing, mean while he noticed that a few of them were actually going to talk to each other.
Staying out by himself was none other then Tod, as long as he didn't cause problems though, that was all Mr. Glisk could ask for. The whole crew didn't seem to be that tough to handle with actually, and maybe class would just happen to be in a more settle way.
"This is my theater class, why do I got a feeling this is going to be a rough year?" Mr. Glisk asked to himself in a low voice as he shook his head looking at the thirteen students he had to teach. Yes, it was going to be difficult, and there was going to be problems, still, only time could tell what might go on between this class.
It was definitely going to be a strange year...
