Spoilers if you haven't played Megaman X5.
This sort of shows my disdain for the ending. Zero dies far too often.

I looked around.....half of my body was missing. X was fighting Sigma. Laying here half-coherant, with one arm and no legs, was oddly fammiliar.
I thought back to the time when X had faught agaibst Vile, and had been captured. I had detonated the bottom half of my body to destroy Vile's Ride Armor, and put them on even grounds.
X had avenged me.
Would he avenge me again? Would he die fighting Sigma?
No, he always won. It was like sacrificing myself made him more powerful, or some odd shit like that. I hate this shit...I have a goddamn life of my own.
It was then that I snapped. Whatever had caused me to go Maverick when the Space Station Eurasia hit the earth had taken hold again. My body repaired itself, and my power swirled through the air.
I killed them both, and picked up X's body. He could be repaired. I made sure I destroyed Sigma's core, and I wiped all memory from his processors.
He would never wake up again. He would never kill again. My job was done.
"Alia, come in. Mission Complete. I'm returning to the Hunter Base now."
