I am going to start a several section story I have been working on for a bit. it is actually where my Character Jason is originally from. I figured as this board is now the place that really works for Jason's storyline it would be the board i put his original story on.
Here is the prelude I wrote giving an idea of the world Huminty lives in during the story.
The year 2954....
The world has been devastated by creatures from another dimension. They arrived in the year 2089.
Their coming into our dimension was quick and brutal. Their first act was the slaughter any human
who stood in their way. Conventional weapons for some reason had no effect on them. Our armies
were crushed by swords and magic. Humanity learned how to fight back but it was not enough.
Though they were on par with the deamons physically. The lack of magic on humanity's side made
it a losing battle.
Over time humans learned how to use magic. But it was more defensive. Not to belittle such magic's
value. Humanity was able to shield off some remaining areas from the deamons. But this was not
enough. The deamons opened more portals allowing them to start to overrun the planet. All seemed
lost forever. But then in the year 2209 a man rose up with a group of mages with powers that not even
the demons had ever been able to weild. He was able to crush groups with a wave of his hand and scorch
even the beheamoths of the demon army. His name was Jacen Lodrick. His followrs were nowhere near
his power but they were also able to defeat the demons without a problem. But they were still only handful
of men.
Over time Jacen passed away. Many thought he would die in battle. But he was allowed one comfort. Dying
in his bed next to his wife. But he had started a family. And his line was to be the leaders against the demons.
He had recorded his spell in a large tomb. It was passed down to his daughter Elena. She felt the rest of humanity
deserved to learn tfrom this tomb. Therefore she started instructing the people in her city about the ways of magic
and combat. Soon the city was strong and able to start pushing outwards to reclaim what was once theirs.
After a few years Elena had married and gave birth to a baby boy which was named Richard. She never got to know
him though besides as an infant. For several months after his birth she had led and assualt to try and reclaim the
ruins of Huston Texas. She was captured and killed though. But like her father she had left the Tomb for her family and had even added spells. This cycle went on and on, after three genrations the tomb was lost and so it seemed
humanity's last hope for a chance at victory and reclaimation of the earth itself.
Now humanity is prospering in only a few cities as their defensive wards have steadily held. The technolagy is roughly the same as in the year that the deamons invaded as improving technolagy hasn't been an option. They seem to have lost hope to ever claim their planet back from their foe. Even the other countries of the world had looked to the Lodrick family for leadership. Humanity is divided, hunted , leaderless and seemingly helpless to do anything but survive.
