The seventeen year old stepped in, his dress shoes making a small clack! sound through the fairly empty hallways. His first day. Onira was fairly used to the school however. He had been inside a few times, and had a copy of the blue-prints, copied with a bottle of ink, large poster-boards, and the alchemic powers of his departed master. Of course, no one knew a copy of the blueprints was kept, and Onira preferred to keep it that way.
The young man walked through the halls, already knowing his plan for the day. He only had two classes. It seemed they wanted to be easy on him for the first few days. Typical. Almost everyone who heard of his master became all emotional with him, going easy on him. Little did they know what he had endured through training.
"Haha!"
The blond-haired mail yelled, his voice echoing through the corridors. The few people not in class looked at him with odd looks, but Onira simply shrugged them off. That was the greatest part about dirty looks. They did nothing for one who didn't care.
"Well, off to my first..."
"Hey! Hold on!"
Onira turned around to see someone chasing after him. He didn't know why, but he figured it best to see what was wrong. He hollered down the hall.
"Something wrong?"

Junpei Taltos let the sound of soft heels divert his attention away from the galls case that showed off many of the schools past, more notable, members. One of them was his grandfatehr who had been here ages ago ad had done very well as a summoner later in life. Go figure that Junpei would be expected to follow that same patha dn have to 'prove himself' to his entire family. Loish stirred on his shoulder, half asleep, as Junpei stood up fully and looked at the man before him.
Junpei raised an eyebrow at the man's dress, a white coat that made him look almost like a scientist? Whatever, Junpei had seen stranger clothing already. Although today was his first day Junpei had also been here before, over the past 3 years he had been here a grabd total of 6 times. Once to see the school, two more to take full tours, two more for testing, and a final trip to stay. The last trip had been rather boring since Junpei first had to say goodbye to family and get his stuff sent here. What a pain this was turning into.
Soon enough a girl came running down the hall yelling about waiting. Junpei didn't know who she was talking to but she blew past both him and the guy in a white coat. Whatever she wanted it wasn't here and she had totally ignored the guys question. Junpei frowned and Loish snickered over there telepathic link. Junpei sent back one small reply to his small friend.
Smart ass.
Turning to look back in the case Junpei memorised the younger image of his grandfather and then turned and looked at the kid in white, why had he laughed before?
"Something I can help you with?"

"Huh?"
Onira looked at the one with a dragon on his shoulder, which he swore heard a snicker come from earlier. For him, a dragon was an odd thing. Dragons to him were, well, unusual. He had only seen a few dragons before, and never so closely. However, he had gotten a chance to see a few other creatures since he lived by himself. Walking around was one of the ways he stayed sane.
"Cool dragon!"
With those words, Onira brain accepted the question, Onira coming to a realization that his attention had been grabbed by the other because of a question.
"Oh, no. I'm fine. But that dragon is something else. Seems smarter than it's letting on though. Then again, I guess you'd know that better than I would."
Onira gave a soft smile, his eyes still grasping the image of the dragon. Fascinating indeed. Not necessarily the concept, but the mystery. Onira was, to say the least, interested in the dragon. Although to some the dragon may seem ugly, Onira was the kind to find those kinds of things fascinating, and the dragon ranked further into the "beautiful" column. Very intriguing.

Junpei raised an eyebrow once more as the guy his own age started rambling on about Loish. Loish of course welcomed the praise and attention and almost smiled, of course in Junpei's mind he was having all of this said BACK to him, with some exaggeration attached.
Did yea hear that Boss? He called me cool! That proves it, I must be cool. Why else would that guy say it? Come on Boss you know I'm the best, what WOULD you do without me? Huh? Come on Boss say something!
Junpei reached up with his right hand and scratched just under Loish's chin, right where his neck and head met. that shut Lois up pretty quick and Junpei was finally able to think straight again. Junpei looked the guy in white over real quick, he seemed nice enough. Maybe a bit weak, but then again with magic involved no one should be called weak until proven otherwise.
"He isn't a dragon he's a Jhereg, a different kinda of dragon. A sub-species you might say that is more flying lizard than dragon. His name is Loish if you must know, mines Junpei."
Junpei continued to get that spot right under Loish's chin and the Jhereg made an almost growl like sound, his way of saying Junpei had found exactly the right spot. Junpei let his hand fall back down and Loish once again started i on the, 'I'm cool Boss'.
Loish shut it for about 5 minutes and let me think. With you in my mind constantly i can't get ANY work done and this guy is talking, so just SHUT UP!
The Jhereg instantly quieted and laid down, curling into a ball on Junpei's shoulder, his tail draping down Junpei's chest and around his neck. Junpei always had Loish at his side and now was no different. If Junpei said anything to Loish he would respond, he knew when he was being over attentive and being a pain.

Onira, almost sensing the conversation with the two, just shut up and let them talk. Or think. Or, whatever. He could just feel there was more going on between the two than what meets the eye, but he just couldn't place his finger on it. However, deep down in his mind, where a small part of him knew what was going on, thought, I wish I could speak telepathically.
Soon the conversation came back to Onira, and the voice spoke accordingly.
"Jhereg? Sounds better than dragon! Jhereg makes him seem more... intelligent. Dragons are thought to be dumb, fire-breathing monsters. Jhereg sound intelligent, but also strong."
Onira, after speaking, remembered something. Something his master had told him.
~Flashback~
"There are many different forms of magic, however, they all are based on the same rule. They all need intelligence, and understanding. In order to truly succeed, one needs to know the basics of all magic. All of the forms."
~End little Flashback~
The words escaped Onira's lips.
"Sorry to ask, but I just thought of something. I know it's of none of my concern, but I was wondering what kind of magic you use."

Junpei listened to the man talk and rolled his eyes at the end. Of course Jhereg were smarter than dragons. Dragons may have power and intellignece, some maybe MORE than Jhereg. Junpei however had heard of Jhereg that could be hundreds of miles fro their masters and still talk liek they were right there, dragons could not do that. So in the end Jheregs won out. However Junpei respected dragons for their nobility and cunning, their grace and power. Dragons were also a lot bigger and could kill you in a lot more ways.
"Summoner, although I can only summon one thing right now."
Junpei brought his left hadn back up and scratched Loish's back, once again the growling started up and Loish strecthed a bit, showing off his impressive claws.
Stop Showing off.
Who's showing off?
You are...
Am not.
Are to.
Am not.
ARE TO!
OK maybe...
This all transpired without either changing in the slightest, it was almost funny ot Junpei how easily they coudl do this and not cause trouble. Heavens knew they could if they wanted to.
"How about you?"

Onira grinned slightly. He was getting that itching feeling again. Although the two didn't move an inch, the silence between them showed that something else was going on. Onira hated not knowing what it was, but decided to leave it alone. What was to be was to be, and what was not, well, that we have to find out. However, it's doubtful you'll ever find what one has decided you won't. It's just not right.
"Me? Well, I'm an alchemist, among other things. However, for the thousandth time, no, I can not transmute gold. One, I don't think I'm aloud. Two, I don't think it's right, and three, I have a feeling I'll go to hell if I try. Not fun. Then again, it would be warm. As long as you can get past the agonizing torture, it would probably be pretty nice. A good vacation spot indeed. You know, without the pitchforks and the eternal damnation. But without that, I'd enjoy it!"
Onira gave a toothy grin. It was quite obvious he was kidding, but also quite obvious he didn't let all of that go through his brain. He hated that. Well, actually, he didn't care. Most others hated it though. However, Onira was taught that on some occasions, one must put themselves before others. It's just common sense.
"That reminds me, would you like to follow me on my incredibly illogical and purposeless trip? It'll be fun. I think you call it, class. I heard it's fun if you forget the fact that most of the teachers are in the wrong classes."
Although one would call that illogical, on one of Onira's visits, he noticed that all the teachers were teaching the wrong classes. Unless they were having a mix-and-match day.

"Sorry, I don't start my classes till tomorrow and I am not really in the mood to get yelled at on day one for being in the wrong class. If you do feel like getting in trouble, I recommend just pissing off some kid and breaking something, that should do it nicely."
Junpei mentally poked Loish, where was the smart ass coments for that? None? It was indeed a miracle that Loish had shut up for five minutes!
It's no miracle I just like it when you make a fool of yourself telpathically.
"I'm actually on my way to my dorm room and the training grounds, nothing liek a good training session and then sleep right?"
- simulateously-
Loish shut up before I have to scrtch your chin.
There was a pause from Loish as if debatin g wether or not that was a threat or a joke, but he decided to test it anyways.
BOSS! BOSS! LOOK AT ME BOSS! BOSS LOOK I AM BEING BAD! BOOOOOOSSSSSS!
So Junpei reached up and scratched the small things chin, giving him all the attention he wanted. Loish sighed mentally and smiled outwardly, it was actually really funny cause Junpei had talked the whole time he was talking mentally to Loish. All in all Junpei was sure the guy was having a hard time understanding the long pauses followed by talking.

"Oh?"
Onira almost flinched at the word. Training. Something he had a lot of in his life, but even so, he could always use more. If this Junpei fellow was going to train, then why not join him? It could be fun. However he knew not the training facilities. He didn't know what they were like. What they had. Were they practice dummies? Were they big bundles of human-shaped hay with a target in the middle that you just hit repeatedly with spells? Were there actually programs? Measure your physical strength. Speed. Spell power. Obstacles. Might be fun.
"Well, you know, my classes actually aren't for about another two hours. So, I guess I could practice a little with you. You know what, you lead the way!"
Onira stepped in line with Junpei, showing him he was the leader. He was now very intrigued at what the training facilities might hold. He hoped maybe there were training robots which he could alchemically alter with his powers. But, then again, alchemy wasn't really a power. The act was a power, but the idea was completely scientific. Molding something was science. Altering something was science. In the end, all magic, not just alchemy, was science at the root. Some people just didn't know it. And that's how octoberfest started.

Junpei looked over his shoulder nad huffed, his personality was changing to that of his colder side.
"No, you can just leave me alone for now. I have no desire to train with someone liek you."
Junpei turned back adn just walked away, not even carign if this alchemist cared. For all he knew the guy could be some perfectionist and have memorized all his circles and what not. Or he could be one of those masters that didn't need circles at all. Junpei had heard of men younger who were better than himself. Who could summon god like creatures that were not meant for this world. Summon Masters were some of the most feared people, since they coudl summon monsters so wild they were barely in control by their masters.
Boss that was pretty harsh.. don't you think he at least deserves the time of day.
Shut it Loish, I need osme time to think and be alone, just don't thnk for a bit. I'm not mad at you, just remembering some bad things....
Junpei continued walkign down the halls of the school, not looking to see if the guy still followed. Not wanting to lose any time Junpei headed straight for the training grounds.

Onira didn't even frown. In actual fact, he didn't really care. If one needed his space, he needed his space. So be it. What was to be was to be, and what was not, well, that we have to find out. However, it's doubtful you'll ever find what one has decided you won't. It's just not right.
"I love that saying."
The blond-haired male went the other way, letting Junpei walk off. However, although he didn't notice it, while he was walking, a small bit of sunlight came throuhg a window, giving his hair that sort of mystical glow, until of course he left the sunlight, then it returned back to normal. However, that one second of glow was enough to get atleast one wanderer suspicious, as a few muffled footsteps showed. Onira muttered to himself.
"More company."
The other called to him, a masculine, older voice. A teacher Onira guessed.
"Don't you have a class to be in?"
"No actually."
Onira replied, turning around to see the teacher. Or so he guessed.
"My classes aren't until later."
