Getting Acquianted

[Lucian]

Lucian walked through the halls of the Academy a bit dumbstruck. Being from a small village in rural Romania it was almost chockingly claustrophobic to be around so many people. Of course his pride prevented him from showing any outward signs of this inner turmoil as he made his way down the hallway.

He looked around hesitantly as if he was about to ask one of the passerbys for directions but then decided against it. Lucian continued his walk down the hallway, accidentally bumping into a student.

"Pardon me, I was not paying attention...my apologizes," Lucian said in a bored tone as if he was merely going through the routine of politeness.

"Yea well I don't think you are...I think you need to show me how sorry you are," the student said. He was a very large guy who apparently had seemed quite used to using his size to intimidate others to do what he said.

Lucian grinned darkly, as he lifted his sleeve up, "A sign of my apology, hmm...okay how about this.." he said as the earth and flesh runes on his right arm activating his Arm of the Golem spell.

As soon as his arm finished it's transformation he slugged the thug in the face, sending him teetering backwards. He shook his arm a bit to regain it's flexbility after it had returned to normal. It seemed however that slugging the thug in the face with a stone arm hadn't quite done the trick. With a grin of respect at the guy's resilient attitude, Lucian touched the lightning and flesh rune on his left arm and reached out to touch him with the electrified arm. However, as luck would have it, this was one of the times his left arm runes decided not to function and he quickly found the thug's fist planted firmly in his stomach.

Lucian gasped, silently cursing his left arm. He quickly touched the sky and mystery runes on his right arm and as the thug advanced on him, fired an Aether Blast almost point-blank into is chest. The bully toppled backwards, for good now, as Lucian advanced on his fallen form.

Lucian squatted down next to the fallen guy, "How about next time, you just take the apology..." he said as he stood and started to continue on his way.

"You know.." Said a calm smooth voice from a tall blonde young man leaning against a wall not far away.
"...When you have the power to bring a man like that down you simply walk away and ignore him. Best thing against people like him is to show they mean so little to you in such terms that they are beneath your notice. Not in the sense you pride being better than others. Just that such a punk isn't worht your time" He said.

Jyo wore his normal outfit. The long coat with the grey shirt and black slacks. He had his combat boots on instead of his normal sneakers as he had been out training a little bit ago. He observed this newcomer.
"Not that I'd undermine your powers. that was an interesting dsplay. It seems you use a form of rune magic." He said

[Junpei]

"It's not good to start fights here. Some people might get the wrong idea and think that your here to cause troule."

Junpei Taltos quietly walked up from behind where the thuggish man had been. Junpei, having only bee here two days, knew that people like this thug were full of pride and honor. The guy's like the thug also wouldn't take 'im sorry' for an answer. For them it had to be. 'So sorry, what can I do to make up for this? Be your slave as long as i'm here?' Of course nothing like that ever happened and siuations that could have resulted in peace resulted in all out violence like this one. Sadly there was little anyone could have done to prevent this short of a teacher showing up and blasting both of them apart. Or if a teacher like his dark arts teacher had shown up.... hell then he could have picked them up and gotten rid of them. Sadly that was not to be the case.

Boss this guy uses runes, on his arms. Be careful he used a blast on that last attack.

Yeah I know, don't worry about me, I can handle myself. IF I do get into trouble go find the dark arts teeacher and somehow get him here.

Taking a couple more steps forward Junpei extended his hand for a shake, that would be the best way to show that he wasn't hostile he guessed.

"Although I can't say i approve of the random beating of fellow students, I think in this case you're in the clear. Nice to meet you, my name's Jupei."

[Lucian]

Lucian nodded, "Your right I probably should have simply ignored him but those who think that just because they have a little power can make others do whatever they want, they annoy me," he said, facing the man who had approached him. "I do, in the form of ritual tattoos. You wouldn't happen to be able show me the direction of the dormitories would you?" he asked, lowering his sleeves and concealing his rune tattoos.

Jyo noticed the other person. And gave a small sniker at the comment that people like that punk had honor. Obviously the guy didn't have a grasp on the meaning of the word.
"Honor.... right if you say so." he said chuckling. Then Lucian spoke again.
"Yeah I can show you that place. I was going to head there to change in a bit anyways." He said then pondered the type of runes to boy used.

"I've read about that. It's an interesting branch of magic to say the least. I've been meeting so many people with different types of magic. being an elemental spellcaster. it makes me seem.... I dunno. Kinda common." he said with another chuckle.

[Junpei]

Junpei nodded and looked around, they weren't TO far from the dormitories, then again they weren't to close to them either. Junpei sometimes hated how big this school was, then again it did house a helluva lot of students, many of whom could just move through walls or teleport or something that made them move faster.

"Sure, it'd be my pleasure. Like I said, my name is Junpei. Summoner if you must know."

Reaching up with his right hand Junpei scratched just under Loish's chin, the jhereg that always sat on his shoulder. To this new person it may look like a small dragon or an iguana with wings. To most people it seemed the thing would be good for little more than being a plaything, but Loish had a poisonous bite, it would be a bad if someone got bit.

"The dormitories are on the other side of the school from here, I was just on my way to grab my own now."

[Lucian]

Lucian turned to Junpei, "Nice to meet you Junpei," he said, extending his hand. "Lucian Dragomir," he said as he shook the newcomer's hand. He turned back to Jyo and laughed softly at his comment as well, "Are any magic users really that common?" he said with a faint grin. "In the village I came from the only magic users were the men in my family, so you must understand my surprise at finding a school filled with them. Being raised around only a few magic users to going to a school with who knows how many magic users all with different and unique forms of magic, the experience can be quite overwhelming."

Jyo had already acknowlagde Junpei. Granted it hand't been his nicest greeting. But unlike Junpei had done to him he had not ignored him.
"Well I grew up here. So I have seen a large variety. Granted your magic is not rare. it's not as common as most types." he said. he decided to give a polite nod to Junpei just in an effort to be friendly.

"Well it looks like you have two people to show you the way. Whats your dorm number?" he asked.

[Junpei]

"Well if you can show him to the dormitory I don't think i'll be heading that way myself. It was nice to meet both of you."

Junpei turned on his heels and promptly vanished as he teleported the scant 30 feet to a break in the corridor. Taking a deep breath he smiled to himself and head off down the hallway. With any luk he would be able to meet up with rune boy later. Junpei still had questions, the first and foremost being... how do you get those?

Boss I don't think you would use them even if you had them.

Oh no Loish, I would never branch off from summoning magic, but I would liek to know how those work, maybe Harlow would liek some... 'extras'

[Lucian]

Lucian gave a parting nod to Junpei and turned to Jyo. "Let's see here...dorm number," he said, rummaging through his pocket for the slip of parchment he had been given. "Ah here we are, umm dorm number 445," he said, looking from the paper up to Jyo.

Jyo gave a small wave to Junpie as he left. He wasn't sure what the guy's issue was by completely ignoring him. He had the feeling he wanted to speak with Lucien alone. Well as they went to the Academy and lived there he would get such a chance.

He looked back to Lucien.
"Cool. I know where that is. It's a decent ways down the hall from my own room." he said and led him along through the Academy pointing out shortcuts and so forth.
"So I got a rough idea of how your magic works. But whats the actualy machanics of it. I love learning about these things." he said as they walked.

[Lucian]

Lucian paused for a second, hestitant about just blurting out the secrets of his family's traditions, then he decided a few bits of information about the tattoos wouldn't hurt.

"Well you see the runes are tattooed using ink from a rare but magically potent plant. I don't know what the name of the plant is and no one in my family has been able to properly identify it. However even though the tattoos are inherently magic to be able to tap into their powers a series of chants must be repeated during the tattooing process. If the chants aren't said the runes' magic will not respond properly to the user, as is the case with my left arm," he said, showing Jyo the corrupted tattoos sheepishly.

Jyo didn't know enough to tell if the tattoos would have been corrupted unless Lucian had said something to him about it. he studied the tattoos with interest for a second and then they kept walking.

"Thats interesting to say the least. I haven't heard of such a meathod before. Well learn something new every day right?' He said as they walked to the dorm section

[Lucian]

Lucian nodded with a grin, "Indeed you do, I had no idea there was so much magic in the world," he said with a hint of awe in his voice.

"I've gron up around it but I can understand how awe inspiring it can be. Even I have alot to learn still. Magic comes in so many forms. I myself actually take hold of the elements and use them as I need. Well thats my primarary magic." he said as they walked.
