Already smiling as he shook Lienn's hand, he couldn't help but grin all the wider when Leon spoke up. That's it, fella, just break out. "Well, it's great to meet you too, Lienn! The pleasure is mine!" Feeling like being a little silly, he adds a sweeping bow to the exclamation. He clicks his fingers and the remaining insects shoot into his pocket. "And, of course, you too, Leon!" He grasps Leon's outstretched hand enthusiastically, forcing the mantis to dodge out of the way and settle further up Leon's arm, clearly flustered.
Looking back at Lienn, he grins lopsidedly. "You got me, Lienn. Just arrived today, and pretty much everyone is a stranger. Have you been here long? Where ya from?" As he speaks, he crouches down to gather the boards up again with his free arm without looking away. He grasps air at first, and then a few slip onto the floor with a clatter, but he manages it finally, and straightens slightly redfaced.

((OOC: Sorry about my late posts I have been busy with my board.))
Watching the mantice sprawl up his arm quickly obviousely a bit annoyed by having to dodge the oncoming hand He felt the mans grasp, and shook in a respectfully firm manner. He may have been brought up in a cave, but he was taught how to respect others, by the elder. He thoiught this person to be intertaining and wondered how different he must of been on the battle field, if he was at all. With the hand shake though Leon made a half smile. As soon as he let go he admitted to being new here, and it would seem just a bit in a rush, or an odd ball, the class clown type person one could say.
Leon just messed with the mantice a bit by moving his finger towards it making it lean away and then pulling back, he would continue the motion as the two spoke to one another. It was intertaining, but he wondered what would happen if he charged it with his mana, something he may have to practice one of these days. It would seem the guy Torm wanted Lienn to talk about herself, seemed to be a way of getting to know each other. Yeah if Leon was asked such a question it would be a half answer, and probably not even have to do with the question, he did not talk about himself, nor where he is from. There where some secrets best kept. But still Leon was quiet interested in hearing her answer.

Lienn grinned a bit as Torm struggled with the boards, he was carrying quite a lot. What was it for? She was about to ask him when she realized he had made an inquiry himself. She glanced at Leon before responding, he was a bit quiet but seemed to be enjoying their conversation.
"I've been here for a few days, I don't know too many people. Leon and I are in the same class, other than that it's just been whoever I've run into.."
She said, glancing back at the spikey blonde haired boy before returning her gaze back to Torm.
"Umm..Where am I not from? I've travelled around all my life, but I'm originally from France, if that's what you're asking."
Her voice held a light airy accent that was sort of mixed, not exactly french, not exactly anything. She fiddled with the silver charm about her neck as a form of habit.

"France, eh? There's people from everywhere here! Your English is excellent, by the way. clearer than mine, and it's my first language, for crying out loud." Geez...Russia, Germany, the US, France...the diversity is pretty interesting. I'm glad the accepted tongue of business seems to be English, but it seems unfair to other nationalities, in a way.
As for Leon... Torm thought was starting to get a feel for the yellow-haired fellow's mannerisms. Some people preffered to observe humanity from a distance, as it were. The magnificence of human connection, the meeting of individual minds, and the crossing of lives' paths are, after all, wonders in and of themselves, and mere observation is more than enough for some more attuned to that aspect of sentient interaction. Torm shifts his burden unconsciously as he glances up and out the high, vaulted windows lighting the hall, beyond which a cloudless sky blazed away.

Leon himself had never been to france, but something about it seemed to be familier as it where, but she did say she was from all over as well. It would appear she quiet enjoyed travel at the same time from the way she expresed it. She was proud of the fact she had been almost everywhere. It would seem she did not claim one single place as her home, which meant her spirit was free. But she claimed her place of birth was France if Leon was not mistaken. though it would not be the first time he was wrong.
The male Torm's reaction to this seemed slightly exstatic. It would seem his was that way most of the time as it where. Leon allowed the mantice to crawl from one hand to the other and soon finally wondered how the mechanicel bug actuelly worked so he pulled one finger up to it, but did not touch, and started flickering electricel shocks from his finger to go a an inch infront of the finger and saw that the mantice was indeed atracted and afraid at the same time, as it swayed from side to side trying to make up its midn if it was going to check it out or run away from it. As it where the sound of the small shocks would be a small annoying poppling noise.

Glancing over at Leon, he notices that the guy was trying to entice the mantis with that looked like a tiny charge of elemental lightning. Electricity, eh? That would explain the hair; it would be quite an impressive feat to come up with any other way to make it stay like that without liberal application of some stiff gel. "That's it, Leon. It'll eat that, and just about any other elemental magic as well as pure mana and chi. just be careful not to overfeed it, as it will overload and shut itself down while the extra energy dissipates. Also, it may behave differently depending on what type of energy you feed it. Otherwise, just treat it nice." he puts on a winning smile. "A loyal friend who won't talk back and will die for you...the least you can do is treat it kindly in return."

Lienn shrugged casually as Torm seemed intrigued by her language ability. In truth, she actualy grew up bilingual, as she had lived in France until she was four. Once they'd begun travelling, however, little four-year-old Lienn had clung to both languages, and her parents could do nothing but continue teaching her both as she explored the spoken language in communication with society.
"Ce n'est pas une affaire." It's not a big deal..
She couldn't help showing off a little french, shince they'd mentioned it. She actually never fell to her native tongue unless she was really upset, or muttering to herself, then sometimes it would slip. So it really wasn't that big of a deal to her. She felt a smile creeping into her delicate features as Torm described the mechanical ickies. Loyal? Die for you? Nice? The way he talked about them, it almost made them appear...not icky. She watched Leon unintentionally feeding the mantis, it was almost cute.
"Wow..and you made these?"
She asked Torm, becoming more captivated as she watched it move almost life-like, but at a safe distance of course. Bugs were still icky.

Leon raised an eye brow to the little thing and then let it feed off the electric energy. He had a soft kind smile on his face towards the litle machine. Lienn's reaction to the intrigue in her French decent had showed she was infact proud that she could go anywhere and alittle showing off was always fun, but Leon was more into the second part of Lienn's speech about how he had created these little things. Leon raised an eye brown now towards Torm. He too wondered how he could have made these.
Even though it was not verbal Leon's questioning eyes where enough to convince most that he wanted to know. He could almost be positive the answer would be interesting. Well if not interesting intertaining. This guy Torm was very intertaining if nothing else.

Torm chuckles inwardly, a little surprised at Lienn's curiosity. Wow, a lot of women I show these things to just tell me that they're icky... In his usual fashion, Leon had said nothing else, but he seemed to show show signs of interest as well.
Torm, not being the type to seek interest or praise for his abilities, is nonetheless proud of his little fellas and explains, "Yeah, I make them myself, and everything but the final touches are mechanical. I use a magical procedure to instill them with the capacity to respond to stimuli and behave truly alive, among other things..."
Not wanting to bore them with the details of the procedure, he reaches into a belt pouch and pulls out another metallic object, which pulses once with light as he runs mana through it. "I don't just do bugs, of course. Say hello, Lloyd." The metal thing uncurls into the form of a small bird, which stares around at the two and cheeps in a melodic warble.
