Phae looked at the fallen form of Onira on the floor. She watched in near disbelief having no idea whatsoever what he was laughing at. She watched and smiled at him but a confused look was on her face.
"What's so funny?" she asked wondering what in the world could have caused him to fall on the floor like that.
She bit her lip waiting for an answer

"Heheh..."
Onira puffed up his cheeks for a second, thinking of a good excuse. He didn't want to tell Phae he thought it would be funny when Junpei met her parents. That would just be rude. Noted, bursting out laughing wasn't exactly high on the etiquette list, but Onira figured it lower than telling her the truth.
"Well, I was just thinking about a joke..."
Okay, so it was a bad lie. But at the time, it was really all Onira could come up with. He'd probably come up with something better later, but that didn't really matter at that one point in time. He had a feeling he was going to get busted no matter what he came up with later on. But, there was one way out of the situation.
"I'm going to go check on my clothes..."
Onira ran into the bathroom swiftly, sliding slightly as he entered. He closed the door behind himself.

Phae looked at him with one eyebrow raised as he told her it was only a joke and walked into the bathroom to check on his clothes. She knew there was something more to it than that. She wasn't stupid something had made him roll on the floor laughing.
She picked up a book off the desk and quickly put it back down. It was one of Jun's summoning or dark magic books and the one time he had tried to impress upon her the fact that she wouldn't want to read one it still gave her the chills and nightmares. That day she had worried Jun for the very first time. He had worried that he had hurt her and scarred her by the picture he had shown. And truth was she had been scared but not hurt.
She sighed fingering her necklace that was quickly becoming a habit and she waited for Onira to return.

Onira stood silently in the bathroom, pushing his hands against the top of the bathroom counter. He was looking at the sink, more just letting his eyes look down to rest them. He was thinking. How lucky Junpei had become. He had someone who truly cared for him. Something Onira had long since forgotten. No one. That truth remained. He had no one. No one really cared about him. He was alone. That truth started to sink in. A tear fell from Onira's eye. The young man simply flicked it away and moved to his clothes. They were dry enough. So, he let the towel fall and took off Junpei's navy shirt. He then started assembling his attire. The boxers, then the pants, then the socks, the shirt, and finally the shoes. Onira walked out of the bathroom, carrying the T-shirt in his hand.
"I'm sorry Phae, but I must leave you now. Tell Junpei I stopped by. Or not. It doesn't really matter."
Onira threw the shirt in the hamper, walking to the front door and letting his hand rest on it. An obvious pain in his eyes, even though he wore a weak smile.
"I'll took to you later. Thank you."
Onira opened the door and stepped out, closing it behind him. He stood there for a second, silent, but still letting a tear fall. He let then truth ring in his head. He had no one.

Phae was sitting quietly waiting for Onira to come back. The instant the door opened she knew something was wrong and it was only confirmed by his words. She stood up as he said he would talk to her later opening and closing the door leaving her standing there.
It didn't take long for Phae to move into action. She quickly moved across the room throwing open the door and seeing Onira still there a tear on his face she wrapped her arms around him gently. She held him so that he could talk or he could let out what ever he was feeling. She didn't say anything just yet she just held him close her hand rubbing in slow circles on his back.
She knew that when and if he was ready he would tell her what was wrong. And she would listen. She was good at listening. Despite her happy and hyperness she was good at sitting still and listening to anyone.

Onira stood silently for a moment, surprised by Phae's sudden action. She was sweet. Junpei was lucky to have her. However, love was something he was un-used to. He couldn't accept it. He needed someone to tell him how to react. However, no one was there. It was just him. He had to tell himself how to react. What to do. He drew a blank. Nothing. It was too foreign to him. He was somewhat charismatic, he enjoyed life, but he didn't know love. In a way, he was scared. For a second he welcomed it. He welcomed the warmth he remembered. But not for long.
Onira quickly turned around and ran down the corridor. His eyes were unsure, as if his body was all that lead him to his destination. He didn't know where to go. Didn't know what to do. He just knew he wanted to be away. Away from the warmth. Back into the cold and the darkness. Back in his element. His home. As he ran, he muttered the words.
"I'm sorry Phae. But I need to feel the cold."
Onira ran through the stairwell, chargin up the stairs. He needed the roof. Somewhere isolated. Where he could be alone. His eyes were closed now as his body ran. It was aching after about three stories, but even so, it kept going. For the top. The tears started leaking out now.
"I need the cold."
Onira burst through the roof door, instantly falling to his knees and huffing. He was in his area. In the cold. Away from caring and from friendship and love. In the darkness of solitude.

One thing could be said for Phae. She was persistant when people where in trouble especially her friends. And that was what Onira was..a friend. A good one that made her laugh and had given her such a lovely gift. She watched as he turned and ran she knew he was running from the feelings of warmth and kindness not from her.
She ran after him. She was in good shape and could easily climb the stairs. Her legs burned slightly as she burst through the door to see Onira kneeling on the ground tears running down his face. She knelt down next to him and took him into her arms putting one leg on either side of him as she held him close locking him in place.
"It's all right, Onira. Let it out." she whispered holding him tightly and closely.

Onira was surprised to hear Phae's words. She definitely was persistant, and although he wanted to run, he couldn't. Not because his legs were aching a little, but because he just couldn't find the inner strength. The spirit to run. He felt Phae's warm touch and let the tears flow, not even trying to hold it in.
"Why does the warmth feel so foreign to me? I just, can't stand it. The love hurts me and I don't know why."
Onira slowly quieted himself, the tears still running, but breaths strengthening. He felt weak, but he knew it needed to be let out. He couldn't hold up his wall anymore. The blanket he held up, trying to show everyone he was strong. He was tired of keeping it up. He was always himself, but never would admit his past. Never try and explain it too hard. He never wanted to let a tear fall. Just wanted to be alone. But now, the warmth was feeling better. The cold had become his home, but the warmth felt so much better. He felt needed. No, not needed. He felt loved again. Like someone actually cared if he was alive or not. However he needed time.
"Get away from me Phae."
Onira slowly pushed himself up. Even he thought he had spoken maybe a little too hard. But he needed to get his point across.

Phae held him and let him cry the tears she knew he needed to cry she heard his whisper and she nodded.
"It is because you have not ever felt it. But I promise warmth is better than cold and I promise light is better than darkness. You have friends Onira friends who are." she whispered and continued to hold him.
She felt and heard him trying to contain himself. She just held him gently knowing this was something he needed. He needed this to help him come to the other side..out of the dark and into the light where it was warm and he could thrive and be happy. She was shocked at the harshness of his voice as he stood. She looked up hurt and shocked. She pulled her knees up to her chest and lay her chin down on them waiting.
Yes, he had hurt her feelings but if he needed to be alone she would let him. But she wouldn't leave she would stay incase he needed her. She would stay and support him if only in silence. If he left ... she would let him go...maybe.

Onira looked to Phae, showing a pained emotion in his heart. He didn't mean to hurt her, but he did need to be alone. Atleast for a little while. Onira knelt back down infront of Phae, looking at her eyes. She was younger than him, but seemed to be much wiser. Even so, sometimes Onira had to remember his age. He placed his left index finger under Phae's chin. As he did this, he had his right palm against the ground.
"I'll be close."
Onira spoke as if a big brother trying to comfort his sister. He had on a welcoming smile, for he didn't want his sadness to be another's.
The tattoo on Onira's palm lit up, and a bright circle of light spread around Onira. Instantly, he was launched high on a circular, cement pillar, about ten feet above the ground. It was completely smooth around so as to keep Phae from climbing up. Onira sat cross-legged, surrouned by a five-foot wall so no one could see him as he thought. He needed the time. Time to be alone. Time to search himself and just think. He needed to welcome himself into the warmth, by subjecting his body to the cold for a little while.

Phae looked up into his eyes when he touched her chin. She could easily think of him as a brother. She had never had one but had always wanted one of those over protective older brothers that looked our for their little sisters through all things. She watched as he went up in concrete too high for her to reach though she wouldn't have tried anyway.
Phae lay down on the roof preparing herself to stay here as long as he did. She wanted to be here still when he came down when he was ready to talk or ready to rejoin the world. She just lay there her arms up behind her head staring up at the bright sky and waited. She would be here as long as it took. She knew she would not be leaving.

Onira walked through the odd space. It was strange. Many doors. Onira didn't know where each one went, but had a feeling each had something to do with himself. He felt some sort of connection to them, and they seemed to effect how he felt. When he placed his hand on some knobs, he felt pain. Some in his head, some in his belly, and one in his right arm. Like a sharp and unexpected pain. However, when Onira put his hands on others, he felt lonely, or happy, or peaceful. Each reminded him of something, but only of what he felt. So far, he hadn't yet opened one. But, the first one he did open surprised him. It was Phae. He watched, almost as an invisible third person. There she was, projecting a copy of herself into a wall. Onira smiled at this. It made him feel... satisfied.
Onira closed the door and kept walking around, opening yet another one. This one also had Phae, but in very... lacking, clothing. Onira swiftly closed that door. He was starting to get the feeling he knew this place all too well. It was his mind. The many areas of his mind. However, he knew not how to navigate it. That was a problem.
As if sensing Onira's loss, a voice echoed through the open chambers. It sounded like... him. It was Onira's voice, except much more broken. As if it couldn't decide where it was.
"You like the pain."
A bone instantly shot through Onira's right shoulder. The pain spread through Onira's body, blood falling to the floor. Onira fell to his knees, looking over his shoulder and seeing, well, himself. However, his eyes were completely tainted black, pupil, iris, and the white part. All of it was pitch black, as if a judging void of shadows.
"It's cold."
"Don't you remember? You like the cold."
The copy standing over Onira twisted the bone spike, causing Onria to cringe.
"The cold is your home Onira. Don't you remember that? It's where you belong. You're lost, and that way you should remain. You're comfortable in the darkness. Frozen and alone. Embrace it."
"Why the hell should I?"
The black eyes grew furious, twisting the bone again.
"You do not talk back to ME! You are a welcomer of death. Everyone around you is destined to die. Everyone!"
"That's not true!"
The evil Onira put on an amused grin, laughing a bone-chilling laugh.
"No? What about your parents? They were killed. And what about your master? He's dead. Everyone around you will be dead, and you have no choice. Xeryth will die. Junpei will die. Phae..."
"You lie!"
"I do not lie. Everyone you know will die. Everyone will leave you. No one cares. No one wants you. So just let them go. You cannot cry for those you don't know. What's the point. You're all against each other anyway. They hold you back."
"Shut up!"
"What's wrong? You don't want her dead do you?"
Instantly, Phae was pushed up through the ground, her chest covered completely in blood as she lay with lifeless eyes.
"I-I don't want any of them dead."
"Hahaha! Don't you get it? You don't have a choice. What can you do for anyone? Nothing. That's all. Nothing. They will leave you, and you can do nothing about it."
"Shut up!"
Onira turned around, instantly breaking the bone that held him. He drove his left fist to wards the face of the black-eyed Onira. It was caught easily.
"See, you're helpless. Your only point in life is to die."
"I said shut up!"
The bone extend from Onira's left arm, going straight to wards the black eye of the tainted Onira. It stopped short.
"See? You can't touch m..."
The evil Onira paused for a second. He grip loosened, giving Onira the chance to get away. He instantly jumped backward, falling to his rear and seeing who was next to him.
"Xeryth."
He didn't speak, just kept his eyes intent on the evil Onira. A broken scream sounded through the chamber. It was the evil Onira, roaring in pain. It was evident why. He had a chunk of flaming metal inside his gut, and Onira knew why. It was Phae's inferno ability. Onira was silent now, too confused by what was going on. The evil Onira grinned.
"The cold is where you belong."
Instantly his head was lobbed off, and Onira saw the cause. Two black wings spread out, and Onira saw Harlow. He tried to get a few words out , but couldn't. His friends were in his mind, and he couldn't figure out why. However, he knew the feeling. Warmth.
-Reality-
The walls dropped and the pillar slowly moved back to the ground. Onira stood up when back on the ground, seeing the sky was dark and the stars bright. It was late, as Onira could see. He sat down next to Phae, embracing the warmth.

She saw the pillar come down she saw the walls come down but Phae did not move. She remembered all too well what had happened when she had hugged him earlier trying to comfort him. She didn't want that to happen again. She lay there staring up at the stars her right hand twisting her engagement ring around her left finger.
She knew that Jun would be worried about her. Phae was usually was waiting for him when he got back from class many times with dinner ready and a warm smile. But she knew that though he would worry he would also know that Phae could take care fo yourself. Onira needed her now and she knew that Jun would understand more than anyone and probably be happy that someone was with him when he needed one.
As Onira went to sit down beside her she did not move. She didn't even look at him. She kept her gaze up looking into the stars her head now lying on the roof. She had been there for hours laying in the same position never moving just waiting. She would let Onira speak when he was ready she wasn't going to speak until he did.

Onira's violet orbs stared at the sky. It was a beautiful night. Sort of reminded him of when he and his master sat in the large oak. Every ngiht they watched the stars. Old times.
"It's nice."
Onira continued to watch the stars. One of the few beautiful things science could produce. The beauty made one wonder if it was really science or if it was some form of elusive magic. Maybe it was a magic disguised as science. Maybe it was really more than just hydrogen under pressure. Maybe. Too large a word. Maybe. Then again, it seemed to become the beginner of all science. Maybe there's more than just 'god decided it'. Maybe there's really more to understand. Maybe things can be explained with more than god's will. Maybe.
Onira moved his hand tp Phae's letting it rest on hers. He hadn't thanked her. Thanked her for caring. Thanked her for trying.
"Thank you Phae. You've helped me more than you will know."
Onira looked to Phae, puitting on a warm smile. Warm. Something maybe he finally understood. No. He didn't understand it. He just... knew it.

She heard him speak first and she turned at the sound of his voice. He was right but his adjective was a bit off.
"It's beautiful." she said and smiled over at him.
She was shocked when he reached over and placed it on hers. She saw his smile and heard those words and it made her smile in return.
"I'm glad I could help you Onira. I know that you are a really wonderful person. I know that Junpei cares for you and so do I. I'm so happy you have found warmth and light. You are such a wonderful person you deserve it." she told him and interlaced her fingers with his.
She looked back up to the night sky happy she could help glad that someone had been here when he needed someone. She was very happy that Onira had found what he had been missing.
