First day jitters (onira)

[Shea]

My my I must look really young. She thought to herself as she smiled and nodded at his own age. She watched as the conflicting emotions came over his face and she couldn't hold it any longer she bust out laughing moving over to Onira she gave him a hug her own body pressed against his as she tried to catch her breath. Finally catching her breath she pulled back and wiped the tears from her eyes as she smiled and cupped his cheek.

"You're perfect." she said with a smile. "It was a joke, or well my attempt at one. I'm seventeen Onira. I must look very young if you thought I was fourteen. No, I'm seventeen."

She kissed his cheek gently and couldn't stop smiling. She hoped that he would take it well as it was her first attempt to be fun around him. She only hoped he didn't get mad.

[Onira]

Onira looked at Shea curiously as she suddenly burst out laughing. Okay, now he was becoming real uneasy. Look at the facts really. Number one! Onira's paranoid because he thinks Shea can read his mind. Number two! He just had a conversation with his testacles, which doesn't really help the old paranoia factor. Number three! He was incredibly nervous from thinking he was like some sort of old guy hanging out with a fourteen year old, and that it was really creepy. And, the big "o" four! His girlfriend (who was still supposed to be fourteen) just burst out after he told her that he was seventeen. Yeah, he was off the freaked out chart by now. So much so, that he couldn't really speak.

"... a..."

Suddenly, the words came out. Shea cupped Onira's cheek and gave him the soon-to-be dramatic news.

"... j... joke... seven... t... teen..."

His mouth stayed open, like his jaw had just been pulled down to the Earth. Seventeen. Oh, what a VERY FUNNY JOKE! Onira was completely out of it now. Just, gone. His mind had just left out of the elevator door. But, liek all things, it was pulled back, and the click! in his brain could almost be heard. He instantly fell over, his mouth still wide in a very comical way. He didn't know what to say or do. Just felt like... lying down. Like relaxing from the shock. Most would have simply heaved a sigh of relief. But no. Not Onira. He was a liiiiiiittle too tense to be relieving anything in a sigh.

[Shea]

She watched him fall and she moved over quickly. She took his hand in hers and held it up.

"Onira, are you allright?" she asked worried. "I.. I didn't mean to worry you I just was trying for a joke. I'll not do it again I promise." she pleaded looking down at him.

She bit her lower lip and looked at him hoping he was really okay.

[Onira]

The elevator was silent for a moment. Truth was, Onira's body was trying to catch up with his mind. It seemed to be just one step behind.

His chest suddenly heaved a large breath inward, and he burst out laughing.

"That was awesome! You really had me going there. Big meanie!"

He looked at Shea, seeing that she as, or atleast had been worried. Not good.

"Hey, are you okay?"

[Shea]

When he began to laugh she smiled it seemed he just hadn't expected it to come out of her a joke like that but it was so funny. The only question of all the questions he could have asked her and he had chosen that one.

"No, I'm fine I was just worried that I had made you angry or hurt your feelings because of the way you reacted." she said and stood up again trying to help him up.

"I'm sorry, I just thought it would be funny as a joke and then the look on your face. I was perfect." she told him as she helped pull him up.

[Onira]

Onira gave a small grin as he slowly stood up with the help of Shea. He cocked an eyebrow for a moment, hearing the regular Ding! of the elevator. They had arrived on the bottom floor.

He regained himself and continued with the subject at hand, the large metallic doors of the elevator parting for him and Shea.

"I will admit, it was quite funny. But scary. You made me feel like some sort of pervert."

Onira took Shea's hand gently and began to walk with her to the entrance doors of the school. He knew a very good pizza place only a block away from the school, and figured no one would really mind if the two took a detour outside. It wasn't like they could go very far, given that the city was in the sky. Not many gates could say that you needed a plane to get past, so really, it made the idea of gates obsolete.

"So you said you wanted me to pick out the movie, huh? I don't really know much about the movies. However, there is a lot of interesting plays for those new to magic. They're quite the spectacular sight. Would those be better?"

[Shea]

She smiled as he took her hand and looked over at him with a wink. He was cute and he was definatly a different kind of person unlike anyone she had ever met.

"You aren't a pervert but it was a funny joke." she said and lay her head on his shoulder for a moment.


They stepped out of the academy and out into the sunshine she blinked a few times to get her eyes used to the sunlight and she smiled out in the sunlight. It was a beautiful day. She squeezed his hand a bit and kissed his cheek gently her hair blowing slightly in the breeze floating around her.

"A play sounds lovely. It will be nice just to spend some more time with you." she said with a smile tucking some of her hair behind her ear. "It is your date too so you get say in it as well."

[Onira]

"Well, I feel very honored. But, it's your first day, so I think that out-weighs me and my first date."

Onira gave a big grin, and continued the walk with Shea. He was a little surprised. When he had first met her, she was quite the shy person. Sort of like a rabbit. Now though, Shea was openly holding and kissing him. Not that he complained. He enjoyed her company, and all the benefits it came with. Like a two-for-one deal. Except much better.

"Well, miss Shea. We've got a good block to get through before we reach the pizza parlor, so please, tell me about yourself. Noted, last time you did that I fell over, but, well, maybe this time it won't be so bad."

He wondered for a second, figuring Shea would like more a specific subject to talk about. "Herself" or "hisself" could be quite the broad topic.

"May I ask what your life was like before Arcane, miss Shea?"

[Shea]

Shea thought about his question for some time. What should she tell him? Well the truth might be rather good to know but she didn't want him to feel bad for her.

"Well, truthfully I'm adopted. I grew up in Wales." she began and ran a hand through her long hair pulling it over to the side out of her face.

"My parents travel so not only do I really not know them but I rarely see them. When they are home the fight over me and buy me things to try to be better than the other but it just makes me feel bad. Like cheap. They were good parents when I was younger but they grew apart I think they were staying together for me but I might have been happier if they had just divorced but they didn't and so they use me as leverage in a fight."

She sighed and looked over at Onira and smiled at him weakly. She ran her hand through her hair once more before she continued.

"So I kept myself busy ballet and my art. I took up the violin to drown out the noise and that's basically what I did before here." she told him and walked in silence for a while.

"What about you? Unless it's too painful."

[Onira]

"That's a little... depressing."

Onira gave a frown, looking a slight bit miserable after recieving the information. He didn't like hearing that his love was at one time unhappy. Of course, it did explain her overall shyness towards those she didn't know.

"I'm sorry that life's been so mean to you Shea."

He gave her a smile, his eyes showing a deep warmth and kindness toward her. He gave her a small kiss on the cheek, and then listened to her other question.

"Well, you already know the basic story, and you know I don't really have a life before here. Just my baby-hood I guess. And I can't really say I remember a lot of that."

He gave a large grin, then took a look ahead. All they had to do was cross the road, then go maybe another 20 feet and they were there. It was almost time to eat.

"We're almost there. Sweet! I guess you've never been to Marco's, huh? Well, have no fear. It's good."

[Shea]

Shea looked over and offered him a smile. She wasn't upset about her past or about what had happened at home she was just happy to be here. The boy next to her seemed very exciteable but he seemed to not really know what to say to the quiet girl.


"Pizza right, no I've never been to Marcos but I'm sure you wouldn't take me to a place that was.. bad." she told him with a gently smile.

The pizza place was within sight and she let her eyes roam around the city. It was beautiful. The entire city was just amazing. Completely amazing. All the shops and all the people. Some carts here and there. It was like a shopping mall in places only outside and better than ever. It was perfect.

[Onira]

"Of course not my love."

Onira gave a smile to the girl, watching her look around at everything that surrounded the pair. He decided to give her a bit of a surprise. So, as she looked away, he placed one arm under her knees and another behind her back, and pushed up, letting her fall into his arm, and giving him the chance to hold her bridal-style. He had a grin as he looked down at her.

"Surprise!"

The two would then walk along, getting ever closer to the business. Marco's pizza. The place literally said "Fire-grilled Pizza", which Onira eventually learned was done with some elementalist magic.

"Isn't this much more comfortable miss Shea? I would think so. Noted, I've never had a very handsom young man with flowing blond hair whose looks can be compared only to a god carry me like this before."

Onira gave a joking grin, showing obviously that he didn't mean it. He was in no way vane, and only said what he had to joke around. He had a feeling Shea knew that. At least, he hoped she did.

[Shea]

Love? Did he just call me.. love? To say she was shocked was an understatement. Truth was it was all very VERY fast. Girlfriend in a day, then he held her hand, then suddenly there was a kiss and now.. now he loved her.

Shea was a very very shy girl. Yes, she could and would warm up around people but Love? No that was not really what she felt. Good friend yes... check on that front but love? no she wasn't even close to that kind of feeling yet. He was a very nice boy and had treated her like a princess.

Suddenly she felt him lift her up into his arms. She gasped and listened as he spoke. She swallowed hard and nodded. She felt a bit odd being carried like this. Especially to the pizza parlor. Everyone was staring and she was pretty helpless to do anything. She wouldn't use her magic on a friend. She just stayed there stuck in his arms. Feeling rather uncomfortable.

[Onira]

Onira looked down at the girl in his arms. He could see it on her face. She looked, almost... scared. Or at least uncomfortable. Oh crap. He did something wrong again. He insantly brought her back to her feet, a sort of worried look on his face. His mind was racing.

Oh no! Oh crap! Oh no and super crap! I did something wrong again! Nooooooooooooot good. Last time I screwed up didn't she cry? Or atleast, she almost cried. Oh son of a b-...

Yeah, no good thoughts. Just hectic and a little bit depressing ones. He didn't know what to do, so just did what he could do. Ask. He hoped it was that easy, but experience told him it wasn't. Not usually. For some reason, people seemed to be, well, a little afraid by their emotions. Not really comfortable with them. Like saying what was actually on their mind wasn't right. Onira had felt that way a couple times, but was really too laid back to feel it often. What he thought was suposed to be spoken. At least, he thought it was.

"Are you okay? Did I do something to upset you miss Shea?"

[Shea]

Shea near sighed when he put her down. She was definatly not into the carrying thing at least not yet. It was sweet and kind when it happened on movies or when it happened after a while and the two really knew things about each other. But she and Onira had only just met and she felt that it was moving way too fast.

"Umm... no not really." she said furrowing her brow. "It's just..."

"Everything is happening so fast." she whispered and looked away. "I'm sorry."
