"All students registered for the Reconnaissance Mission, please report in Azrael Thantos's upper office immediatly.", came the cool, relaxed voice of a man who hadn't been seen around by much, over the school's speakers. Azrael Thantos leaned back on his chair, away from his microphone, as he pushed the mic away from himself, with a simple, annoyed growl. Damned students better not screw this up, or he'd get blamed for the failure. Damn Byron had to leave, thanks to the 'Beast' clean up. Then again, it'd give him an excuse to kill them, justifiably, and possibly without anyone knowing. But, he'd make sure they'd get the job done, unless they were willing to pay the price for failure..

Onira sat alone for the day. At his large oak, simply reading a book. An alchemy book actually. He was trying to figure out this new wind alchemy technique. The concussion wave. He was supposed to gather the wind in his palm, and then launch it at a specific target. Done properly, it was supposed to easily knock over someone. However, done by Onira, it didn't even knock over a can. Very annoying. He had tried it over and over a couple days ago, but now he took to the books. To find his flaws. He had questioned many things in the process of using the wave. His stance. Maybe it wasn't wide enough apart. Maybe it was too wide apart. Maybe his body wasn't on the correct angle. Maybe...
"I hate that word."
Onira spoke quietly to himself, leaning up and closing up the book, placing it carefully in a branch next to him. He looked at his palm for a moment. More importantly, the tattoo that had been placed in his hand. It was fading. The once clean, black markings had been transformed. Been beaten by repeated alchemy into a light gray. He'd have to get that looked at.
Onira slowly looked at the speaker on the top of the wall of the courtyard side. The noise that came out of it accumilated into words when they hit Onira's ears. The mission.
"Shit!"
The violet-eyed student twisted his body to the left, letting himself fall off of the fairly low branch. He quickly landed on his knees, then stood up, brushing himself off and quickly going into a run, leaving the book until he got back. It would take a while, but no biggie. The book had a special seal around it. Whenever it was left for over two minutes without human touch, it would wrap itself in whatever it was touching. This time, the tree. When Onira got back, he could retrieve the book with but a press of his finger. Good system.
"Excuse me, everybody!"
Onira rushed himself through the halls, bumping, weaving, and sometimes pushing his way to the stairs. He slid under a senior's legs, making sure to keep his head low so as to not actually make him fall over. That really defeated the purpose of the slide.
After the maneuver, Onira turned the knob and shoulder rolled into the now open stairwell. He began the trek, heaving himself up the metal stairs with every step. At quite a good speed as well. Luckily not many chose the stairs over the elevator, and Onira only saw two people on his journey up the modern mountain.
"Gotcha!"
With a final leap, Onira pushed off of the last step, instantly crashing his body through the last open door. He had made it to the residing floor of Azrael Thantos, and like so many things, was welcomed with a face plant to against the hard, industrial floor.
"At least I made it."
He slowly pushed himself up off the ground, then, once again, gave himself a quick dusting off. He found his way to Azrael's office quickly, and entered at a casual pace.
"Are you Azrael Thantos?"

Phae lay in her dorm. The one she shared with Junpei. She was curled up on the bed a book in front of her. Her blue sapphire eyes scanned the page studying up for her classes. She yawned slightly and looked at the apple that she had intended for lunch.
"Not hungry." she said with a sigh. She seemed to each so little these days. She wasn't sickly like before but she still didn't eat much a side effect of the week she had spent in utter hell.
She flipped a page and glanced at the clock. She still had plenty of time before she had any real obligations and so her eyes shifted back to the pages of text in front of her. Delana her familiar a gift from her fiance' lay curled up on the bed next to her. She reached over with a grin and pet the little Jhereg and she squeaked in reply. Phae giggled. She had never been happier than now. She had Junpei back in her life and they were happier than ever completly devoted and she had Delana.
The voice came on over the speaker and she smiled. She looked over at the Jhereg and nodded. Closing her book she bounded off the bed and put her sword on her waist prepared for the mission ahead. She was ready and excited but she needed one more thing. Delana was too young to be left alone and she didn't know how long they would be gone so safer to take her with. Phae grabbed a small woven bag out of her closet something that she could attach to her right side on the belt and the little Jhereg would have food and a warm place by her mother to stay.
She fastened it to her belt and picked up the tiny Jhereg which had grown slightly since she had hatched but was still small. She slipped the little Jhereg in the bag and placed some meat she had ready for the little girl in the bag with her.
"Eat only when you are hungry Del." she said and smirked. The Jhereg squeaked and Phae giggled. She loved her little Jhereg.
She knew Junpei had signed up so there was no reason to leave a note. So dressed in jeans and a tank top of a soft sky blue color that accented her eyes she was out the door. Walking towards the office of Azrael Thantos she hummed slightly a smile on her face she was thankful she had worn jeans today an oddity for her. She had a rubberband around her wrist in case she needed to put her hair up and she was excited.
She reached the office and with two knocks she opened the door stepping inside she saw Onira and smiled.
"I"m Phae. Reporting for the mission Mr. Thantos." she said with a smile and closed the door behind her.

((ooc: Technically it should be a briefing, debriefings usually come AFTER the mission is over and all present on sad mission have turned in a report, but I'm just being technical.))
IC: Junpei finished off the last of his lunch, light today, just a sandwich and salad. For once in his life he wondered what this mission would be like. Before today he had just seen each mission as something to do, now that he was doing one with Phaedra his mind buzzed with possible outcomes and probabilities. Although right now there were way to many variable to factor in, hell he hadn't even been briefed on the mission.
Sighing he set down the fork and swallowed his last bite of Caesar salad. The meal was on par with everything else he ate here, the school cafeteria. He threw away his trash when the loud speaker came on and he was to off, the time for the mission was here.
Junpei grinned to himself and whistled out in the cafeteria. A few people turned to look but many more turned when a cat sized lizard swooped down from the rafters to land on Junpei's shoulder, left to be specific. Junpei smirked and headed off for a certain office, that of a one Mr. Thantos, Azreal Thantos. Seemed he would be handing out their assignments, at least it wasn't that perv of a teacher Mr. Wicklewood. Junpei shuddered with thoughts of that class and he got a mental laugh in reply.
What's so funny smart ass?
Oh nothing Boss.
Yeah right...
Junpei stepped out into the hallways of Arcane Academy and took a left, heading for the office he had just been summoned to. Junpei wondered exactly how long this mission would be, if it lasted to long he may have to have Loish become a hunting lizard,a lizard of prey you might say. The smaller version of a dragon huffed and puffed out his chest as the thought crossed Junpei's mind. Junpei merely laughed and rounded another corner, to see Phaedra walk into a door.
Grinning once more to himself Junpei stopped and muttered a few words under his breath. A few seconds later his entire appearance changed and he smiled, his bonded form would look so much nicer for this mission. Besides recon would mean they would most likely need aerial recon, and that meant someone who could fly. Oh well, the now six foot two inch frame of Junpei Taltos pushed threw the door and his two massive angelic wings folded around his body to help fit him threw. He slipped one under each arm and tucked them against hi body, allowing them to remain hidden under baggy clothing but now they just seemed to wrap him in a white and black feathery suit. His silver hair and emerald green eyes made him seem inhuman and indeed in his bonded form he was, he was your average everyday half fallen angel.
"Junpei Taltos, reporting as ordered."
Helper Edit: Domo Arigato, Junpei. Fixed.

~Tenshu and Kyoden were... "resting" inside their dorm. Kyoden had been put under in some sort of soul trapping spell by Tenshu to calm the souls, letting him sleep. Tenshu was not human, hence, his body did not regain strength and energy by sleeping, but it did calm him. Being an oni, he feeds off of the souls and the blood of others. A whole test-tube shaped vial of the onisu's blood was enough to give him energy for about a year in Earth's time, in the upworld away from the Shadowlands. The first thing he had done before entering the academy was to drink a whole vial. He was set, and it ran through his vains constantly. The announcement could be heard through their room, their almost empty room. Tenshu still slept, remember. Waking to the sound of where he was to report and who he was to report to, he showered and got dressed. His clothes were unorthodox to the academy, and his kimono was nothing more than what everyone saw. It had no magical properties, but if people thought that, it was an intimidating gain for him.
People could still get hurt in a recon mission. The one thing he doesn't reveal is the armor under the kimono. It was traditional Japanese hatch style. Only when attending class does he not wear the ceremonial armor. It won't be heard, he made sure of that. He closed his eyes and channeled one of Kyoden's soul, his actual soul, not the other ones bound to his body. It woke him. His eyes came open slowly, and his head rose, clanking against his shoulders. "It's time to go, Kyoden." Kyoden stood up instantly, and opened the door, Tenshu following behind.
***
They made their way to the head office of Azrael Thantos. Tenshu stood at attention, just before opening the door. "Stay out here, Kyoden." Tenshu walked in, no emotions on his face, as usual. He saw the one who he recognized as Junpei, a girl, and a mystery boy. "Daigotsu Tenshu..." he did not pause, but his own evil essence could be felt around him again as he pronounced his own name, "...reporting for duty on the reconnaissance mission." Tenshu didn't sit down, he only stood at the end of the room on the other side of the wall where Kyoden was. It wasn't really secluded, but everyone was on a second or third side of the room. He took his left hand of of his sleeves and knocked on the wall behind him twice. Kyoden knocked back once with a metal clank. As Tenshu put his hands back in his sleeves, crossed, he focused on what the possible outcomes could be. "I shall wait..." he said to himself.~

Torm is eating when the message blasts out of the PA system. "I forgot all about that!" he exclaims, and storms out of the cafeteria, still shoving a third hamburger down.
As he exits the door, he snatches his ladder from a wall-mount near the exit; it was a fairly constant companion for him here. Aside from being useful for self-defense, it had practical applications as well; he has so far made a sporadically nominal income performing basic maintenence jobs; the sole reason for which was the fact that he had had the necessary equipment on hand at the time.
A few moments later, he arrives at the office. he pauses for a moment. No backing down now... He nods slightly to himself and hefts the ladder. Seeing that the door is ajar and other students are assembled within already, he enters, knocking on the doorframe lightly as he does so, and grins in greeting at the other students.
"Tormaigh MacRagallach, present, sir."

Alone in his quiet and dark room, Xeryth laid upon the bed, his finger in the air. His eyes were closed, and the room was visible only to his Mind's Eye. Focusing on his finger, or rather, the air above his finger, Xeryth delved his mind in deeper, seeing not the air as a whole, but breaking it down, invidual particles. Oxygen. Carbon Dioxide. Individual atoms. With his eyes, such things were impossible to detect, but in one's mind, anything was possible.
Starting with telekinesis, Xeryth took of a group of those particles, about an inch in diameter just about his finger. Once he had mental control over them, he didn't move them very far, but quickly, in many directions. Essentially, Xeryth began to vibrate these particles, faster and faster, creating enough heat to finally make a self-sustained spark. Xeryth had no time for outward expression, but he couldn't have been happier at this moment.
He had finally figured out Pyrokinesis.
A sudden voice blasting over the loudspeaker he didn't even know he had in his room doused the flames, both on Xeryth's finger, and in his heart.
Recon, yeah, that was me. Time to go.
Sitting up, Xeryth was already dressed and ready for anything that might happen. He had his mind, his clothing, and his weapon he'd so far only used once at the Academy. He was prepared.
He strode into the room of Azrael Thantos, a slender, eerie man, and took his spot in the group along with everyone else.
"X-Xeryth Varson," he said, nodding. "I'm here."

To Rescue A Beast ... He looked at them with a very unfeeling look on his face, as they all came through his doors, one by one. Quietly pulling out a crimsonly dipped feather pen, he put out a piece of paper in front of himself, and began to scribble, when it ran dry on him. "... Bloody... more ink!" From the side, a man who had a bloody bandage on his arm, looked up, a terrified look on his arm. Azrael scoffed at this lightly. "Oh come now, I pay you because you actually serve a purpose.. now give me my ink." Shooting the poor man with a cold stare, the man whimpered, and crept his feet towards Azrael, unwrapping his bandage around his left arm slowly, revealing many slim holes, as if--- *stab, stab, stab* went the point of the feather pen into the man's arm. Crying out, the man staggered back, rewrapping his arm again, as Azrael, satisfied with the thickness of the ink, just by staring at it, began to scribble down what he could. "... Okay... so... from the brief scan from the computer I saw... 'Little Miss Nazi' is Phaedra Weiss, Onira is the suicidal prat who apparently was so idiotic, he couldn't kill himself the first time around, Mr. Taltos in his ridicolous looking, extra large 'chicken wings', a guy who perhaps tinkers with more then just his 'toys', ala Torm-a-la-irish-unpronouncible name... and Mr. Tenshu, the Japanese boy who has a similar lifestyle taste to my own... how wonderful." came the overly sarcastic ramble, from his unsmiling face.
"Well, here's the situation: You're going to be rescuing a 'Beast' (God knows why) who, evidentally, has been captured for his 'radical' ideas of striving for peace with our factions. A civil war nearly broke out, but, in turn, he was imprisoned, so, the Beast problem did not resolve itself with a mass murder of its own men. I'm sending you on a Recon. mission, and possibly a 'Rescue', depending on how the situation goes, as under orders of Professor Byron. There are six mana candies and six mana enhalers for which we're going to provide you with in this mission. We will have a teleporter move you into as close an area as possible, without you getting spotted..." he continued, uninterstedly, still writing with his blood pen over his parchment, continuing on as if it was routine, routine, something he did a thousand times a day, a possibility that may not have been too huge of an accident. ".. However, you will not be alone. A D-13 squad has been sent by Lancaster to provide a distraction. Obviously, they're going to get themselves killed, as their 'rescue' is so up front and brutal, lacking any tactics at all, that I think Lancaster is doing this for us, especially, to find and rescue this 'Beast'." With one lazy eye, he looked up at the group. "... It's an orc with wolf fur... a 'Shaman', I believe. Here's a picture..""I'll be delievering a map layout with the patrols listed... Tenshu." He looked up at the student, a very drawl look on his face. ".. You look scary. You're leader. Make sure they do their jobs, or they die." his gaze turning over to Junpei, a strange look on his eyes... ".. Chicken Wings, you look like you'd make a good lead scout." and then... "... Okay, you, Whore, can use a sword, so cut a damned pathway for everyone, Pscyho boy can be a good mental detector of the guards, so I suggest keeping him by the squad leader; Torm-whatever and Onira will make good meatshields and/or cannon fodder, and possibly expendable scouts. The true formation is up to Squad Leader Tenshu.. so... any questions?" There was a very lucid look that screamed from his whole body that he didn't want to answer any stupid questions they had, however... "... Oh, and, if you fail, I'll kill a classmate of yours. Sounds good?"Objective: Find The Rebel Beast Leader! Possible Objective: Rescue The Beast Leader! Sub-Objectives: -Don't Be Caught If You Don't Want To Alert Their Encampment! -Don't have anyone die on the mission! -Don't have the Rebel Beast Leader die! -Return, if it allows, the Rebel Beast Leader to the Rendevous Point! -Avoid confrontation, unless neccesary! -Don't fail or I'll kill you! (.. jk)
Tenshu has been made Squad Leader!
A Formation Suggestion Has Been Given!
