He had always heard of this place. Ever since he was thrust out unto the street he had always heard of the Academy. A place of training in Mage craft. For a long time in his own training he thought he was in the Academy, as he matured he knew that to be false. The idea of such a place of learning almost seemed too horrible for every student to go through. Judging from afew of the bodies he found one time in Master's hidden room, not too many were able to withstand his punishment. Fear would be his first tool here. Varys would enter the school in the form of his first Nightmare. The clear headed and agile Schrägstrich . In truth, Varys was half afraid of this place. He had never truely dealt with people. In this way he would awe them, he would scare them and perhaps only the ones that might understand would approach. The ones that may be like himself, or close enough too it. Schrägstrich slid his way down the hall, his slug like lowerhalf keeping his forward movement slow. It only allowed the mind to continue it's thought. Was there anyone truely like himself, or in the very least brave enough to approach this demented creature?

Robert walked silently through the halls, his regular dark aure fading into the matter around him and chilling the few students that found their way around him. He couldn't tell, but all of the passers-by seemed quite spooked. That, and all fo them were going the opposite way as himself. It seemed that whatever it was that was around the corner, it was not exactly desirable. How strange. There were more outcasts than himself. Maybe.
He gloved hands remained in their pockets as the eleven-year-old boy steadily came closer to the turn. He posessed no fear of what may in-fact be around the other side. It was disconcerning, really. Whatever it was, it was likely to do one of two things. Hurt Robert, or just ignore him. That was what everybody else did. Why would the snake-like beast be any different?
He turned lightly on his heel, looking upward at the beast before him. How strange. Blade-like hands. Round head. Beast was definitely the word for it. But, still, Robert felt no fear. He merely wondered on what it would do, standing before it unthreateningly but still unmoving. His dull black eyes scanned over it, waiting for it to do whatever it was to do.

So many apparant students he passed. They feared him already, he could tell by the strange looks and the indecesive and hasty movements away. It was certainly amusing to Varys, and his form showed this fact. This body emitted an odd clicking sound, almost insectiod in nature, laced with the sound of a human laughter. It was amusing and yet still sad. He hadn't found a single one that might be akin to him, it hardly made sense. This place did teach all forms of magic, did it not? Maybe he was just in the wrong part of the building.
Then something odd happened. Varys' vision fell upon a young boy that stood in his path. A boy that...wasn't afraid? That hardly made sense, maybe he was merely scared in such a way he couldn't move? That could be tested, Varys slid his body forward, untill atlast he could stretch his arms out, sending the points of his claws into the ground beside the boy. An odd clicking almost insectiod voice projected forward. The voice itself was soft and couldn't be heard too well amoung the clicks. Still Varys attemped to speak.
"Little boy, if you have forgotten what to do with fear I can tell you. It is a simple concept, you run from your fear...you run hard."

Robert looked onwardly at this strange creature. He didn't even think of flinching as the points made their way fairly swiftly into the ground. They weren't overall very close, but they did seem to be quite sharp. One had to wonder on if the creature were fast enough to turn the blade and send it towards Robert before he moved out of the way, but he quickly pushed that thought out of his mind.
The boy stood solidly against the ground, listening precisely but still seeming disconcerned. For one reason or another, his face always seemed to have that expression. He had wondered on numerous occasions why that was. Why he never seemed interested no matter how much he in-fact was. But, that was for one to contemplate at another time. For now, he was faced with a large, scaley creature with two swords. That was just not the time one let his mind wander. Even Robert tried to keep his brain on his track. Had to be on his toes, after all.
He continue to stair with those dark orbs, not replying for a moment at the beast's comment. His voice was raspy and light. Not comforting, but low. Of course, Robert could not say much more about his own tone, but at least he wasn't clicking.
"I do not run when the chance to die stares at me."

The clicking chuckle emenated from Varys again. He was amused at this little boy showing no fear. If only he had the chance he would give him fear, just as Master had given Varys fear. Indeed this one would prove good, but Varys doubted the Academy would much appreciate him hurting a student. Much less such a young one, and there was so much potential here...there is so much that could be had. He had to be good, he had to be nice...He had too....He had too....
Focus was being lost in the Nightmare now, it wanted his body. It wanted his form. Varys could feel his own body slipping away... This was true fear, he had to get out now. It was something that had to be done, but it wanted to say more. It had to say one thing before Varys could pull himself back. It made it so.
"Master would have liked you... He would have liked you..."
The last words of Schrägstrich as it began regress back into pale skin and cloth that was to be Varys body. He detested the fact he had to be so...human. However, he didn't want to become lost in a different form.
The transformation would take several minutes to complete, but it was Varys head that changed back first, delivering himself back to...himself.
"Indeed he would have liked him...But I wonder why the boy doesn't show fear?"

(OOC: That was a quick thread...)
Robert, still unmoving, looked over the creature as he finished his last words directed at the boy. Such an odd being. It seemed to carry intelligence, and did not hunt for blood. However, such a beast would normally posess such a form through stages of evolution. It would have such limbs in-order to survive and to get it's meals. Maybe there was more to it than appeared.
He moved again, tired of being stuck in one spot. Normally he liked being still and relaxing. It let him stay within his own universe. Now, though, the situation was just uncomfortable. The creature was not so much the issue as the conflict. He was not used to speaking to anyone, thing, or object at all. It was an unsettling experience.
He quickly passed by the already changing form, continuing down the hall to go to his ever-so-popular no specific destination. He himself had to ponder what it, he, or very masculine-sounding she had said.
Master. Who is this one?
He tried to keep curiosity form consuming too much of his being. That would be pointless as well as punishable by the academy. Two things one did just not need in his already cursed life. So, he continue through the corridors pointlessly, stuck in hiw own thoughts once again, with eyes back to the floor. One's usual position.
