What... the... fuck?!
These were the only three words running through the martial arts master Richard Price's head as he looked out the cafeteria's window, noticing his girl, as far as he was concerned, with some OTHER prick. His eyes narrowed in disgust at this as he shook his head disapprovingly.
I'M the only prick worth her time, dammit!
A wry smile broke the negative visage of a moment before. The moment of jealousy, anger, and disgust had passed the second it came, leaving in its wake the very thoughts and emotions anyone who knew the boy would expect from him: Competitiveness, cockiness, and an eagerness to show whoever this whack-job was just who Phae was interested in. Almost completely independent of his own consciousness, Price found himself dropping his half-eaten midnight snack of a cheeseburger, standing from his seat, and walking out the glass door, quietly so as to not make a big show of things.
There he was, he and Phae facing away from Price, conversing lightly. Price didn't wait for any kind of circumstantial evidence, he didn't even stop to see what the two were talking about. He simply regulated his breathing, and reached out with his chi, finding the exact resonance of Phae's sword, laying in its sheath on the ground due to her sitting, hilt facing Price. He quickly matched it with his own Chi, and the sword, an inanimate object as it was, became as if it were an extension of himself. Quickly, Price stepped up his pace, using his chi to send the katzbalger singing from its sheath to his right hand. One more step and he was upon them both, the sword to this new prick's throat and a big, cocky grin on his face that only Phae would be able to see, due to the dangerous proximity of the sword to the neck of the other.
"Phae," he began in his usual mocking tone. "Is this guy troubling you? Because let me tell you, his face sure is troubling to me..."
Price snickered and grinned down at the red-headed girl with a wink, the light in his eyes proving to her that he had no intentions of actually cutting this guy like that. The poor guy with the sword to him, on the other hand, wouldn't be privy to this important bit of knowledge.
