Stolen Opportunity (Lex)

[Lexandra]

The skin on the shoulder ripped and the inner workings began to show being pulled and some broken. He chuckled. There was no pain involved. White fluid leaked as the fluids dripped from the pipes and lines. A mad chuckle raged out from him as the boy prayed and became stronger.

Banging into the metal of the tank Lexi's eyes shot open. She could hear something. Just barely. A sound that seemed to echo in a way. Soon the water rushed out of the tank and she was picked up. She winced harshly as she had not expected the touch to hurt so much. The visor was taken off and she was held close to someone so warm. Her naked body shivered from the cold water and the cold air as she looked up opening her hazel eyes.

"X..xav..ier.." she whispered. "..why?.." she asked her whole body seemed limp.

"DAMNIT! You can't have her back. She isn't finished here." Parker screamed and thrusting his staff aside he pulled the girl visciously out of Xavier's arms and threw her across the room as she hit the wall hard and slid down to the floor.

[Xavier]

He was finally holding her in his arms again. Xavier swore to himself, right there, that he would never let himself get in any awkward situations ever again. Xavier never wanted to hurt her ever again because he had felt what it was like to possibly lose her and he never wanted to feel that way ever again.

"Lex it's okay I'm here now," he said, holding her tightly against him. She felt so cold and he could feel her shivering and he wanted to warm so he held her close against him, "I'll never let you go again Lex...I'll never screw up again I swear," he said, his eyes starting to well with tears.

Then the man, that man, the one who had taken her away from him in the first place freed himself from his vine trap and ripped her out of his arms. Xavier looked up with a wild, mix of grief and rage on his face as the man threw her against the wall.

"LEAVE HER ALONE!!" he roared as he leapt at the man, transforming into his bear form in mid-air. 700 lbs. of furred fury tackled the man. Xavier roared ferociously as his claws swiped at the man over and over again, tearing chunks of his artificial body apart.

[Lexandra]

Lexi was knocked out as her head had hit the wall not only creating a hole but definatly hitting hard enough to knock her out. But she would never forget the words he had said right before Parker ripped her from him. It was amazing what he had said to her. He seemed to still care for her.

The boy screamed and transformed into a bear. It was all going as planned. A sensor went off in the building silent and unheard. The ultrasonic call would be heard by the people that could get Experiement A while he kept the bear busy. Because though the bear ripped through the skin a steel plate had been installed. He wasn't a stupid man, this Parker, no infact he was very smart and he wasn't going to let this idiot ruin his plans.

Already they had been comprimised when Experiment A had gotten curious about her past. And then she had found her name another occurance that they had to stop. This couldn't be allowed. If she found her parents everything would be ruined. She had to forget everything. Or this experiment was botched and they couldn't waste that kind of governmental money.

Parker grabbed the jaws of the bear with his metal hands and held him so that the bear could only look at his face and not see the people that snuck in and grabbed the naked Lexi picking her up and rushing out of the room with her. She was to be taken to the facility under Rome and there it would continue perhaps they could not only re-educate but modify her just a bit. Yes.. modification.

"You stupid human. You think that girl has a heart enough to love you. Words are meaningless to one such as her. Love is word. One programmed into her by us. Merely a Websters' definition of such emotion. Emotion is not something she feels merely something she mimics. So don't count your blessings yet boy you've fallen in love with a girl that doesn't feel!" he said and began to chuckle maniacally as they shoved the girl into a waiting helecopter.

[Xavier]

Xavier struggled against the grip of the man. His claws weren't have anymore effect, the man seemed to have steel plates underneath the artificial skin. Xavier's bear jaws were caught in the man's vice-like grip. He snarled viciously as the man taunted him telling him that Lex had never truly loved him. That wasn't true that was a lie, she had said it herself, she loved him and none of the lies that his man was telling him. Xavier changed back into his human form, which allowed him to slip out of the man's grasp.

"Enough lies, you've hurt Lex and I'll make sure she's avenged for your thoughtless uncaring experimentation," Xavier said as he summoned a thorn using his Thorn Strip spell which pierced the man through the head, "If that doesn't kill you you're truly inhuman," Xavier said as he stood up and noticed some people just leaving the room with Lex, "Damnit!" he roared and ran out of the room but had lost them.

He searched the room that Lex had been kept in and found a gps device, "They must have used this to track her," he said as he stared at her, "She's moving fast they must be using some sort of aircraft to carry her," he ran out of the room and headed back to the teleporter room where he had come in and punched into the coordinates where her dot had stopped, "I'm coming for you Lexandra," he said as he charged into the portal with out a second thought.

[Lexandra]

In Rome she was escorted to a facility. There she was taken straight away into the rehabilitation center. For projects gone wrong. The still shivering girl was offered nothing as they threw her into a cell. Not only was the cell soundproof but there was no light, no sound, no bed, nothing. It was just a room with a drain in the center. There she would live, possibly die but it was all part of her rehabilitation.

Lexi knew this room all too well but her screams could not be heard outside the resounding walls of her cell. She clawed at the walls but nothing helped. Nothing she already knew it and that was when it came. The burning water. To cleanse her. To cleanse her of everything. The sins of magic the sins of lust and love. They had watched her and they had seen her sins and this was not to be allowed. The water was scalding as it rained down on her pale body burning her immensly as she screamed at the top of her lungs. Yet no one could hear.

The door was marked. 'Salvation Suite' and that was exactly what it was. Magic was a sin. Brought to the world by none other than the devil and this organization was seeing to its cease. This girl was planted there. And she had sinned in that time and now... oh now they would cleanse her and if she survived then.. and only then would they procede.

[Xavier]

Xavier came out of the teleporter in another damn facility. Just how big was this organization that Lexandra was apparently tied to. Xavier stalked through the halls of the complex obviously enraged. This time however he was going to take a less direct route. He was done torturing and killing people for now. He was more concerned with getting Lex and getting her out of here safely and he couldn't do that if he was running around killing everyone in sight. In fact that would only attract more attention to him and that would make rescuing Lex that much more difficult.

He saw a man walking down the hallway and Xavier quickly ducked into one of the siderooms. As the man approached Xavier grabbed him and slammed his ahead against the wall hard knocking him out. Xavier noticed a comptuer in the corner and tried to run a search to find where Lex was being held but the computer told him he needed a swipe card. He yanked the one off the man's neck and swiped it.

"I'm coming for you Lex, just hold on" he whispered, as he typed in Experiment A in to the search query area. He was given a read-out that said she was going through rehibilitation in the Salvation Suite and it also gave him a live video feed of her. They were dosing her in water and it looked like it was extremely hot because there was steam rolling of her skin as she writhed and thrashed. His fist clenched and he downloaded a map of the complex to his gps and plotted a course to the Salvation Suite that they were keeping her in.

Xavier left the room, taking the man's swipe card with him. He reached the door marked Salvation Suite and swiped the card. The lock light flickered green and threw the door open, "Lex I'm here," he said, rushing into the room and pulling her out of the steaming hot water, cradling her in his arms, "It's okay now..."

[Lexandra]

Lexi screamed and finally the water finished pouring down on her. She knew what was coming next. She had been in this room before. It would be the ice cold water that would crack her skin. And then it came in the time it would take Xavier to get from the computer to her room the freezing ice cold water poured down on her skin that was covered in first and second degree burns.

Screaming again as the skin on her body began to crack and bleed. Bleeding out the impurities. She remembered now. She remembered all too well what this week of torture was going to bring and her hands ached remembering the piercings of the last time she was here. But then the door opened and the water stopped. She was crying her body shaking as she was picked up gently and the one voice she wanted to hear she did.

"Xavier." she whispered. "Xavier it hurts." she cried to him as she held onto him tightly.

She was naked, burned, cracked, and bleeding. She was shivering and running a fever now. She clung to Xavier like he was the last thing that was holding her to this world.

"Take me home." she whispered softly. "Please.. I beg you." she said softly as she looked up her eyes pleading him to help her. "I'll .. I'll never.. never get in the way .. of you.. and that girl.. just.. just take me home. I'm sorry... I'm so sorry." she cried harder.

[Xavier]

Xavier cradled her against him gently. Her skin was cracked and bleeding the monsters who had done this to her would have to pay. But for now he had to concentrate on getting her out of here safely. The way she was pitifully begging him to take her home. I'll never get in the way of you and that girl, just please take me home. The one of her voice brought tears to his eyes.

"Lex...I...I never wanted to be with that girl," he said as tears slid down his cheeks, cradling her gently against him, rocking back and forth, "Lex I'm sorry I will never screw up again, I swear I never want to lose you again," he said kissing her gently.

He took of his shirt and slipped it over her naked, cracked, and bleeding form, "Lex I love you and I never want to lose you ever again," he said as he picked her holding her to him gently, "Let's go home Lex..." he said softly as he started walking out of the room holding her comfortingly against him as he made his way down the hall to the teleporter room.

[Lexandra]

Lexi heard the words. He didn't want the blonde girl. He loved her still. She nearly cried again but she was trying to be strong for Xav. He needed her not to break down. To be the same strong Lex she had always been. She closed her eyes when he picked her up.

His shirt. It felt nice. To be clothed again but to know that he had come for her. It was then she remembered.

"Wait, Xavier. We have to go back. My necklace it's .. there at the first place and my clothes but I really want my necklace back." she whispered to him.

She closed her eyes again. Her whole body hurt and her skin was red. Not from blood though that didn't help but from the burns of the boiling water to purify her. She lay in his amrs nearly asleep. Letting him carry her. Surrendering to him softly.

"Ashlyn Alexandra Marie Giovanni." she whispered. "That's my name."

She soon fell asleep after giving him her name. Now someone else knew and now it was real. She had told him what she had found and now tired, exhausted, and in pain she fell asleep in his arms.

[Xavier]

Xavier smiled softly as shee told him she wanted to go back to get the necklace. Normally he would have thought she was crazy for wanting to go back to the first facility. But the reason she wanted to go back touched him more than anything. She wanted the necklace back and Xavier was going to make sure she got it back. Even if it meant going through an army of the bastards who had tortured her like this, he would to get that necklace back for her. Then she whispered her real name before she fell asleep. Ashlyn Alexandra Marie Giovanni

He set the teleporter to take them to the return destination. Xavier carried her through the antiseptic laden halls of the laboratory that they had just been in not too long ago. He made his way to the room labeled Experiment A, still holding the battered but now partially clothed form of Lex in his arms. Xavier stepped gingerly over the impaled corpse of Parker and made his way to the chair that held Lex's clothes, he set her down gently on the chair and took his shirt back.

He carefully clothed her, making sure to put on the arrowhead necklace around her neck and picked her up again, fully clothed. Xavier carefully picked her up again and leaned in, kissing her softly, "I love you Ash," he whispered softly as he made his way out of the room and headed back for the teleporter room. It was finally time to go home.

[Lexandra]

They went back and she slept the entire way. Thanks to the teleporters it wasn't a long journey before he sat her gently in a chair. She didn't open her eyes as he slipped his shirt off her burnt body and back onto himself. He began to dress her and only when he put her jeans back on did her eyes open due to the pain. She hissed gently but soon the pain was over.

He picked her back up and she held the necklace in her left hand as if she never wanted to let it go. The kiss on her lips was returned and she blushed slightly. He told her that he loved her called her Ash which made a smile spread across her face.

"You can still call me Lexi you know." she whispered. "I don't care what you call me right now so long as I never leave your arms again." she said softly.

And she meant it. She felt his arms holding her close and that was all she really wanted in life. She didn't care if she ever learned another magic spell just so long as she was able to stay with Xavier.

"I"m sorry Xavier. For my actions earlier. I love you. I'll never do it again." she whispered and kissed his neck which was the only thing she could reach without moving.

[Xavier]

Xavier smiled down at her as she woke up and clutched at the necklace for dear life. She was so adorable he just held her more tightly against him. Xavier felt like he never wanted to let her go, he wanted to hold her forever. They were finally home, Xavier was so glad that they were finally home. He chuckled softly as she told him he could call her whatever he wanted just so long as she never had to leave his arms again.

"Lex I don't care what your name is as long as I can hold you forever," he said with a soft laugh as he kissed her again holding her tightly and comfortingly against his chest.

He looked down at her lovingly as she told him she was sorry, "Lex I'm the one that's sorry I'll never screw up again, I swear," he said softly, kissing her again as he stepped into the elevator, still holding her and soon he had taken her to her room and was laying her down on her bed, with the silk sheets he fondly remembered, "We're home.." he said softly, laying down beside her.

[Lexandra]

He took her home the only place she really wanted to be anymore. Here with him. It ws in his arms that she was home. It didn't matter anymore where that was so long as he was holding her. She closed her eyes again and chuckled when he told her he wanted to hold her forever. She smiled and and nuzzled into him even more not letting go of the necklace he had given her.

When they finally reached her room and Xavier sat her down softly on the silk sheets. The first thing she did was take off the painful jeans. Her burns wouldn't heal with that on and not only that but it hurt. Her skin was red still and it hurt. She had long since stopped bleeding and when Xavier lay down next to her she nuzzled up into his wonderful waiting arms.

"Xavier. I love you." she whispered as she kissed his lips gently.

"I never want to leave you, I never want to be without you, I want.. to be with you forever. Move in with me." she begged him. "Please."

[Xavier]

Xavier smiled and wrapped his arms around her as she nuzzled up into him. He would have to tend to her wounds those burns were pretty bad but he could help her out, luckily he had a healing spell. He stood up for a second, not wanting to leave her embrace but it was necessary for him to heal her. Xavier loved her and seeing her hurt, especially due to him, made his heart ache and he wanted to heal her now.

He closed his eyes and said a brief prayer to activate his Nature's Nurture spell, "Mother Gaia grant me the power to heal this girl, the love of my life," he whispered softly before his hands glowed with green energy. He passed his hands over her body, starting at her legs. As his hands passed up her body, the areas that had been passed glowed green briefly before the energy seemed to absorb into her skin and heal her wounds. Xavier smiled warmly as he finished the process and lay down beside her again, wrapping his arms warmly around her.

"There we go, all better," he said, nuzzling into her neck a little and kissing her gently. Then heard her plead with him to move in with her so she wouldn't have to be alone anymore, "Ashlyn Alexandra Marie Giovanni, I would want nothing more than to live with you," he said with a grin as he kissed her again, holding her tightly against him.

[Lexandra]

Lexi watched as he got up and prayed. Her eyes filled with tears as he prayed to Mother Gaia to heal the love of his life. A green light covered his hands and as he touched her she could feel her skin healing and she blessed him even more. He lay back down beside her and when he did so he agreed to live with her. Using her full name she chuckled.

"Xavier, I love you so much. I want to be with you forever. I'll never forget how you came and saved me. I owe you my life." she whispered.

She looked up into his eyes before she placed a gentle and sensual kiss on his lips. He was going to move in with her. Life was becoming more and more complete. Later she would have to tell Xavier about what they had put her here for because now she remembered. But for now she just kissed him because she was in love and now more so than ever before.
