Season's loneliness (Open if interested)

OOC: Mostly planned for a bit of insight to the character's personality. Not truly made for someone to jump into. But feel free to join if you like.

Colder out than I thought it would be Thought Rakel looking out the window of one of the many towers of the Academy. This would be the first time Rakel had nobody to be with during the holiday season. His mother went to take care of his grandmother for the winter. Melfice and his sister were off on a trip to visit relatives with their parents. Rakel had always been able to spend time with all of them during the holiday season. But now he really didn't have that opportunity. So for the first time in his life Rakel felt the pangs of loneliness.

He never minded being by himself. But it tended to be at times when he wanted to be alone. This was the first time he wished to be with those he cared about and couldn't. And not really have taken the time to get to know anybody at the Academy he didn't have anyone to be with. That was the reason he was up here. Rakel figured if he wasn't going to be pleasant he'd at least not let his mood disturb others and bring their moods down in a time when smiles ought to be common.

I guess it really isn't to bad. I just would rather have spent some time with them during the season. At least their gifts will be at their homes waiting for them. He thought allowing a small smile that was covered by his scarf. Rakel's green eye looked out the window seeing the snow falling softly. To his surprise a bit of moisture gathered at his eye. The snow reminded him of his times spent with Krystal during the winter and watching her dance. His right hand came up and brushed the moisture away. he never felt ashamed to show how he felt. But he didn't think getting that upset was really sensible.
Heh. Sensible, Thats probably why I haven't gone out to actually meet anyone here. I didn't really see much of a point. Probably should be reconsidering how I see things a bit. He thought as he closed his eye again lost in thoughts about his family and friends.

“Thank you Fyn. You’ve been a great help for this winter.”

“You’re welcome of course. You can ask for my help whenever you need it. Oh,” Fyn absentmindedly skipped over to an acorn which happened to be by a window, “This one as well Ms. Silver. Oooo, I think it’s ripe.” He knocked on the hard shell just to make sure. It gave a little, the sign that it was indeed one that was fresh and ready for immediate consumption.

He wasn’t a big fan of acorn in general though. It was a little too starchy for his taste.

“… uh… Fyn…” there was a sound of shivering in her voice, as though she had suddenly become startled.

Fyn turned back towards the speaker, “Yes, Miss?”

The quivering squirrel took off, leaving Fyn to look around, and see red cloth in front of the window. Oh… a human. He had missed it when he had found the acorn. It must look strange to see a white silver squirrel running about, and especially one that wasn’t afraid of humans. Still he clutched the acorn with some amount of possessiveness. The Silver family was still busy stockpiling those last few for the winter and they needed all the help they could get, especially to feed the little ones. He prepared to jump from the building.

Still the forlorn look in the man’s face made him a little curious as to what the man was thinking. He paused to stare into the window.

Ambient forms were still a secret from most of the school. He used it many times to just escape the prying eyes and it made his room feel a lot bigger. And indeed it was exciting since no one knew of it. It was a small bit of guilty pleasure Fyn held inside of him.

Rakel's eye opened as he took another look out the window and was treated to an interesting sight. A squirrel of an interesting color that for a second seemed to be observing him.
Curious. I'm not an animal expert but I don't believe those animals tend to really take the time to check out a human in detail He thought observing the squirrel more closely.

Besides it's color and the fact it didn't seemed phased in the least by a human it wasn't really remarkable to Rakel's eyes. It had an acorn with it which didn't really surprise Rakel. Though he thought it was odd due to the time of year it was harvesting.
"Running a little late for gathering aren't you?' he said not really expecting the squirrel to understand. It was mostly him thinking aloud. Though his tone wasn't flat like normal but more friendly than most times.
