Today in the halls of the academy one apprentice could be seen waling through the halls with his green eyes opened wide taking in every sight he could. His extremely long hair trailed behind him as he walked. A long metal staff was on the back of his shoulders with his arms up and his wists resting on the staff. The basic relaxed way to carry the weapon and have it ready to use.
It was his first day actually walking around the academy. he had been here for a couple days but had only been in the training grounds or his dorm room while he was getting a grasp on keeping his powers in check before he went out and about. Now that he had done that he was walking through the place where he'd be learning more about magic.
The main thing he noticed was the different races. Most people were human much like himself. But others were different by a bit though they looked mostly human. Jason figured he was going to like this place quite a bit. Alot of variety and alot to learn. just how he liked it.
Before long he stopped in an area resembling his courtyard from school. Well I think I found the place I plan to hang out. He thought with a small smile and headed over to a tree. He rested his staff against it then sat down with his back against the trunk of the tree and put his hands behind his head deciding to just relax and take in the view of the students milling around the area.

Celeste had been out for most of the day. Doing things in the city and just spending time up in the air. Flying was something she loved to do. Feeling so free up in the air the wind through her feathers and through her hair. Her hair, speaking of which, was white once more. It had been dyed pink a while back but she had changed it back to it's normal color. Though it was still long it was white once more and matched her eyelashes and eyebrows as well. There was a large courtyard below that Celeste planned to land in and she circled it gently twice before back winging down and landing gently.
Her wings disappeared in a flash of light and her red eyes turned blue as she smiled. It was nice to be able to fly without restrictions now. She spotted a new student however, one she had never seen before. With her shopping bags in hand she headed over to the tree he was currently leaning against. She smiled at him and sat down.
"Hi, you must be new. My name is Celeste. What's yours?" she asked as she held her hand out to him. She was a pretty girl mainly she had light blue eyes, pale skin, white hair, and was thin. She also was light weight but that was because of her genetic makeup.

Jason got a surprise as a girl landed in the courtyard. His first impression was that he got glimps of an angel of some sort. Then the girl's wings dissapeard in a flash. Whoa. Now That is neat. A winged girl landing gracefully like that. And the wings. That was pretty cool... Hmmm she's looking this way and.. Interesting. He thought seeing her walk over and sit near him then hold out her hand and introduce herself and ask his after guessing correctly about him being a new arrival.
He gave a big smile and took her hand for a brief shake then put it back behind his head. "Nice to meet you Celeste. My name's Jason. And yeah I just got here a couple of days ago. It's really pretty amazing. Until a couple of days ago I had no idea magic was even realy. Then Bam! here I am in a school with a wide variety of it." He said with a small chuckle. "I must say that was an intereting entrance. Were your wings a result of a spell or are they actually part of you?" He asked with curiousity practically spilling out of him. He had never met a person not fully human face to face before this after all.

She was greeted so warmly and it was nice to meet someone knew. The other, like herself hated humans, but Celeste was his opposite liking them very much. She smiled as he told her his name and she sat down next to him pulling her blue jeaned legs up to her blue sweater. He began to ask about her wings and she chuckled. Most people that saw her wings at the academy these days just figured it was another magical thing. Seemed there were several people here that had wings. But this boy seemed to be very new to magic and had not seen them before.
"They're real. Would you like to see again?" she asked.
When he answered she would push them back out of her back and her shoulders moved to and fro with the movement of them. Her feathers rustled softly in the wind and she looked over at Jason with a smile.
"See."

Jason gave a nod in answer to her question and stared for a moment as her wings came out. Being very new to this he was fascinated. "Wow. makes me wish I had a set of my own. Must be great to be able to fly." he said. He could only use his limited powers of levitation for a fast burst of speed and could only raise a few feet off the ground. She had the ability to soar wherever she liked. He wasn't jealous of course. That would be stupid. But top say he wasn't envious would be a lie.
"Thats really cool. So if you don't mind me asking. What race are you?' He said trying to be polite as he wasn't sure if she would take it offensive or not and his concerns were pretty clear. After all offending someone and ruining what was a pleasant meeting with them was the last thing he wanted to do.

She chuckled. He seemed so excitable and happy as if he had never thought to see someone with wings before. She liked it though as cute as he was. He seemed to be like a child almost in his curiosity the way it abounded. She remembered being like that about life. Still was sometimes. Sometimes the simplest things were what made all the difference because she could still remember Sieg her 'brother' teaching her how to drink a coke for the first time.
"My race does not have a title. There are only two of us. Hadrian and I. We are hybrids created in a medical facility. Genetic hybrids of human and avian DNA. So that is where my wings come from and why I am so light. They can't explain the lack of pigmentation in our hair but it's just a side effect. We both escaped from the laboratory and ended up here. Myself first and then he came along after seeking me out. The only other like himself."
"What about you though. Where are you from?" she asked letting her wings go away again and leaned back against a nearby bench.

Jason listend with rapt attention to what she had to say. He found it highly interesting. Gene splicing and so forth? Well that I know a bit about. Still to be one of the only two of your kind. must be lonely at times. He thought and then gave a small chuckle at her question. "Wow I'm gonna seem kinda dull in comparison." he said with a toothy grin. "But I'll telly ou anyways of course. I'm your run of the mill human. Well besides the fact I can use magic. I was born in Stockton California. But I grew up in Springfield Oregon. Another part making me sound pretty common really. I lived a pretty average life until I ran across the girl about to be raped. When I went after the guy attacking her I didn't really stand a chance. Thats when my powers showed through. Naturally i kinda freaked. A personf rom the Academy met me at my place and explained things for me. Now I'm here to learn more about what I can do. And learning about everyone else here seems a plus." he said and gave a shrug. "Like I said pretty dull really. I guess the exciting phase in my life is going to start here at the academy." he said.

She smiled and lay her head on her knees as he began to describe his own life. It sounded pretty interesting if you asked her. To be honest. He was nice and sweet and he was just another happy human that she was going to have to get Hadrian to meet. She watched him as he talked about himself a rather condensed version but so was hers there was much more to Celeste than there looked to be.
"You're life isn't boring. If anything it's normal there isn't anything wrong with having a normal life. Saving a girl from being raped is much better than anything I have ever done. So just because you aren't some crazed experiment that was tortured and what not, doesn't make you less interesting." she said with a smile.
"You shouldn't sell yourself short." she told him and nodded gently as she did so her blue eyes looking at him with a soft smile on her face.

Jason's eyes narrowed and he gave a small wince at the mention of her being tortued. he wouldn't wish that fate on his worst enemy much less a person he was already starting to consider a friend. But he knew that could be an unpleasent subject to bring up so he decided to be polite enough not to mention it.
"Well I didn't really mean to sell myself short. I can see how a person with your background would find me a bit more interesting. I'm willing to bet that someone who led and average life must seem as interesting to you as you and this whole world of magic is to me." he said with a small shrug thinking about the way she probably viewed things.
"So how long have you been here and what type of magic can you use?" He asked knowing that there were almost a limitless amount of magic types out there.

There was a soft flapping of wings as Hadrian landed beside Celeste with a soft grin. He was wearing a sort of modified tank top so that he could fly with out his wings shredding his shirt like he was inclinded to do. His scythe rested over his shoulder as his black eye shifted from Celeste to the boy in front of her. From what he could gather and had heard as he landed they were having some sort of friendly conversation. He smiled thinly at the boy, bah humans he just could not ever bring himself to simply like them. He slid his arm around Celeste's waist a little possessively as his wings slid back into his back, his eyes turning back to their normal crimson color.
"Hello Celeste," he said looking down at her with a soft smile. He then turned back to look up at the boy, the smile fading, "And hello to you," he said, his voice was stiff with formal politeness beause if it were not for Celeste being here he would not have even given this boy a second glance, "So what are you two up to?" he asked, looking from the boy to Celeste.

Celeste smiled at the boy. He was right, there were times when just normal human lives seemed the most interesting. Like his. It wasn't very exciting or anything but it was so normal. So many people these days took so very much for granted and it was nice to sit back and look at their lives from an outside point of view to see just how amazing their lives had been in the end. And so when he asked about her magic she didn't mind talking about it at all, he was kind and he didn't seem to want anything other than to talk to her.
"My magic is Celestial magic." she said as she summoned up her staff. It was an ornate staff with a cresent moon and star at the top. It was made of pure light but you could see the beauty that it was. "This is just my staff, I have other spells as well, this is just the easiest to show."
It was then she heard the familiar wings and she smiled as she quickly unsummoned her staff and got up. Hadrian landed right next to her and she smiled brightly at him her blue eyes as bright as ever a huge happy smile on her face. Hadrian cooly surveyed the scene and she could sense the tinge of jealousy but it was so very cute. Especially when he slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her close as an unspoken phrase. Telling young Jason here just who she belonged to.
"We were just getting to know one another Hadrian. Hadrian this is Jason, Jason this is the other like me, Hadrian. He was just asking about my magic you should show him yours." she said looking back up at Hadrian. She turned to look at Jason again.
"We are opposites. Where I am light he is dark." she said with a smile. "And what of your magic Jason?"

Hadrian grinned a little as Celeste explained that they were getting to know each other. Apparently they had already talked about him because Celeste introduced him as the other one like him that she had told him about. Ah so the little human already knew about him somewhat. Hadrian smirked a little as she asked the human, Jason was his name, what his magical style was.
"Yes please Jason...enlighten us," Hadrian said, "In the meantime I'll let you get a glimpse of mine I suppose," He said as his scythe appeared in his hand and he rested the butt of it against the floor, "This would be my scythe...not my only spell but it's good for getting the job done when the situation calls for me to get up close and personal..." he said with a faintly dangerous grin as the scythe seemingly melted into shadow and sucked back into his palm, "I'm sure you're magic is fairly unique," he said with a mildly bored tone to his voice

Jason watched with a high degree of interest. He found her ability to summon her staff out of thin air to be something he would want to learn how to do. He was sure it wasn't too hard. But he'd have to learn it from gound up.
He was about toshow his magic when another person landed by Celeste. From the way he acted it was clear the two of them were a couple. And that the guy seemed a bit overprotective. Heh. Not that he would have to worry about me really. Though Jason. The the guy was introduced as Hadrian. Jason raised his left hand and gave a small wave in greeting. "Good to meet you. I guess she beat me to telling you my name." he said with a smile. He was very much contrast to Hadrian really. But Jason was a more or less friendly guy. He watched as Hadrian showed his powers. "Thats pretty neat. Similar magic yet two forms of it." He said then gave a small smile when asked about his own magic.
"I'm what you could call an energy manipulator. I can focus my mana into energy blasts and sheilds and can use other abilities. One of them I'm not going to show though as it's a burst of speed that would send me flying into a wall or strait up. And I don't land well from high falls." He said then gave a shrug. "Here I'll go ahead and show you a bit." He said grabbing his staff and holding it strait up. A strange green glow flowed up the staff and at the end formed into a blade comprised of his energy. "I can charge most any item I hold." He said and the charge was gone as he set his staff down.
"Nothing flashy but I like it. It's effective and not hard to use and I think with time I'll have a big variety as to what I can do." He said with a smile. "So how long have you two been here. I already told Celeste I have only been here a few days. But how about you two?" He asked wondering how much he could learn about this place from them.

Hadrian watched with a bored sort of detached sense of interest as the boy, Jason, showed off his magical abilities. Hadrian was not really interested in the magic styles of a human, there was not much he had to learn from them. He had his shadow magic and that was all he needed. It was the only style that was perfectly suited to him. It allowed him a broad enough range of spells to suit his combat style which revolved around inflicting the maximum amount of pain on his opponent. This energy manipulation was mildly interesting, Hadrian could see how he could do a lot of the samer things with his shadow magic though so it really was not all that impressive. But then again Hadrian never really found humans all that impressive as a collective anyway.
Hadrian shrugged as he asked how long they had been here, "A few months maybe more, I am not exactly sure...I have never been one to keep close watch on time. I came here not long after Celeste. As she has probably told you already we were created by a group of scientists the Nephilim Corporation," he explained, "Well I was created not long after Celeste was and when I learned of her I slaughtered those who wanted to keep me from seeing her, which was most of the science team assigned to watch over me...and our creator...our father Doctor Damien Calhoun," he said, sneering a little at the word father, "Ah yes, my scythe feasted on blood that day," he said with a bit of a wistful sigh and a faraway look as he thought of the day he killed his way to freedom.

Celeste watched as Jason showed them his magic. Apparently it had to do with manipulating energy which was interesting. She had never seen anything like it. The way he charged up his staff. But she wasn't sure what exactly you did with it once it was charged. She was going to ask when Hadrian took it upon himself to show his scythe not to mention he began to condescend the poor boy. Celeste placed her hand on his back and gave him a little squeeze that told him to watch it or he was going to be dealing with an unhappy Celeste if he ran her buddy here off because of his anti human attitude.
"I've been here for several months. And at least one full one before Hadrian got here. He was created after me, and I escaped not knowing of him. We never met the scientists kept us seperated I had no idea there was another like me. Yet, here he found me and we've been at least friends since." she told Jason with a warm smile.
"And so, how are you enjoying your stay here at the academy so far? It's nice here, at least in my opinion it is. A lot of nice people. But do watch out for the bad ones. Because like many places in the world, the academy has them as well. I know more than most. And if it wasn't for a close friend and Hadrian I would still perhaps be underneath that person." she said softly and in honesty only Hadrian would know who and what she was talking about he would most likely become even more possessive of her in front of Jason but only Hadrian and Drake had seen how far she had fallen.
