Ziare had thought long and hard about several things. She didn't want to lose either Alastin or Jyo but she knew she had to make a choice. She had waited too long as it was and she was tired of playing around. She never really stayed in Jyo's company when long enough to find out if she still had feelings for him or not.
It was this reason she was here at Jyo's dorm. She was nervous and had been standing across the hall for some time now just staring at the door. It was something that she had to do. Something she had to know. Right now she had to know. Biting her lower lip she crossed the hall. Straightening her collared shirt over her thin frame the blue color accented her eyes and the blue jeans fell just right around her hips she lifted her left hand and knocked on his door three times.

Jyo had been reading several books on different aspects of swordsmanship. WIth his old powers gone and his amount of new powers limited he would have to be relying on his melee skills much more for a while. Right now he was just skimming through the book though getting a basic idea of what he really wanted to look into practicing.
Then he heard a knock at his door. He looked over and closed his book while standing up. Wonder who it is? Now that I've showed myself to mom and dad plus the other students openly it could be about anyone. he thought as he set the book down and walked over to the door throwing his red coat with the holes for his wings back on. He didn't tend to wear much more then a jacket pants and shoes as the cold didn't bother him and he wasn't about to cut holes in all his shirts.
He opened the door and was pleasently surprised to see Zaire. He haden't planned on seeing her for a couple of days unless she need him during that time. But he wasn't going to complain about her showing up at his door. "Hello Zaire come on in." He said with the newer more pleasent echo in his voice as he stepped aside to let her in. "I wasn't planning on seeing you for a couple more days but this is a pleasent surprise. Can I get you anything. Something to drink perhapes?" He asked. He was much more like he used to be. Noticably different but at his roots it was clear he was still Jyo in many ways.

The door opened and Ziare looked up. Jyo basically looked the same as he always had but now he had the wings and the echo. Though the echo was weird what she was about to do made her even tremble on the inside. But she had to know why the other day despite the tears his arms had been comforting.
She entered his room and smiled. It was the same as it had always been and she felt at home immediatly. She had spent so much time here before the incident and before he had left that she was so used to the way it looked and smelled. She closed the door behind her gently and looked up at Jyo.
She swallowed hard and bit her lower lip before she stepped forward and hugged him gently. It was the hugs of old the ones that they used to share the soft ones. She nuzzled into him gently. He said he hadn't planned to see her for days but she didn't care. The ring he had given her still resided on her left hand. She leaned back gently and looked up into his eyes.
"Jyo." she whispered softly as she cupped his cheek gently. "I want.. to try."
She leaned forward and kissed him very hesitantly on the lips. It was almost as if they were sharing their very first kiss that night by the fire again.

Jyo stiffend for a slight second as without a word Zaire smiled closed the door walked into his arms nuzzeling against him. He soon relaxed and put his arms around her holding her gently as she did him wondering if something went wrong. but he didn't think so with the way things were happening here. But he was going to wait and let Zaire speak.
And when she leaned back looking into his eyes with the eyes that had him trapped with love for all the time he knew her, she spoke. Telling him that she wanted to try to make things work. Then before he could say anything she kissed him. Not like when they had last met. But this time much more like when they had just started seeing each other.
Jyo gently pulled her closer but not by much as he was still going to be careful about what he did with her for a while. But he returned the kiss with everything he had. Not forcefully but obviously passionatly. After several minutes he broke the kiss gently. "Zaire I can't begin to say how happy I am to hear this. I just want to make sure you are sure. it's been a few days but I want to make sure you didn't rush the decision. thats not what I wanted. But if you really want to try. Then I don't know if there is anything i can really say except thank you. And that I love you. Perhapes more than ever." he said. Which is true. Now that I have faced the prospect of truly losing her. I don't thinkI had ever been more terrified in my entire life than at that point. He thought as he gently ran his fingers through the shortend hair. He found the new look something different . but it still looked very nice on Zaire.

Ziare smiled softly when the kiss broke. It was something that had taken a lot for her to do. A lot of courage had gone into the kiss and when the passion he showed her came back she couldn't help but blush. She looked up into his white/green eyes and she cupped his cheek gently.
He spoke to her and she listened quietly. She knew that this decision was not made lightly but instead one she had made for him. Because she knew what she wanted. She remembered what they had before everything had happened. She blushed at some of his words. How could she not? She smiled and hugged him again.
"Jyo.. I'm sure. But you have to realize I am different now. And Alastin is a huge part of my life. I can't be without him because I need him near daily. He has saved me over and over again and there is no way to ever thank him enough."
The scars on her wrists were now just white lines but they were and would always be a testiment to what she had tried to do. Trying to take her own life when her real one had failed her so terribly.
"But I want us to try because.. I remember what we were and to find something that special again.. I would.. love to try." she whispered softly.

"I have no problems with you being around Alastin. I just don't get along with him. But I know what he's done and he has had my thanks. I know you're different. But I am too. Mabey it's the differences that might help us now." He said.
Jyo kissed her lighty and smiled. "Well that makes two of us. I'm sure we can find that connnection we had at one point and lost. I'm sure of it." He said pulling he to him gently. Mabey. Just mabey things are going to ge better soner than I thought. She is doing better already. And it seems like there is leterally no seceret's between us this time. He thought.

Ziare smiled. She knew that he and Alastin would most likely never get along. But she needed them both in her life. They kept her grounded. More Alastin right now than Jyo because of Alastin's calm and sweet nature that allowed her to do just about anything. It had been hard for her shopping in the city but he had done so wonderfully with her she felt so very safe with him.
After another quick kiss he told her that he believed they could do it. She wanted to find that good and safe feeling again. She hoped that it was with Jyo but in the least she did remember feeling like she was on top of the world when she had been so deeply in love. And so many feelings inside her conflicted. She knew she loved Jyo but she loved Alastin too. Were they different kinds of love? She was here to not only find that out but to reclaim what was once so bright in her life.
She pulled back out of his arms gently and smiled softly. She looked around the room that had always been like a second home to her. Nothing had changed. She picked up the picture of her and Jyo on their first day in the city. They had taken these in a small booth just outside a huge store.
Setting it back down after running her fingers over it for a moment she turned back to Jyo. Leaning against his desk she looked up at him.
"So.. what do we do.. now?" she asked.

Jyo watched as Zaire turned around and looked at the room. Theyhad spent so much time together here. Plenty in her old room and other places. But this had been like their own home. Jyo found he had loved it when he could wake up and know Zaire was in the other room at the most.
He noticed her glancing and running her hand along the picture of them during their first date together. He had looked at that picture everyday since he had come back. It reminded him of when things were much better and it calmed him greatly. It tears me apart to think things can't be exactly like that. She and I had nothing but pleasent days back then. But stil it looks like things will be better. They already are really. he thought walking up to her as she turned around asking him what they should do.
"Hmm tough choice. Part of me wants to take you out and do something. Mabey just cruise around the city or the likes and find something interesting. Another part of me wants to just stay here with you. We'e had a hard time to get through. And throughout it we weren't together." he said putting his arms around her again. "Of course we can do both. So how about a day out on the town and then we can come back here." He said. After all we might run into some old friends. Like Talbot. I want to know how she's doing of late. or mabey I'll just speak with her tomorrow. I'm slightly worried about what might have happend to her. He thought thinking back to her memory loss and blindess. But those thoughts quickly melted away with Zaire there with him. She had that effect on him before and it was still there.

Ziare watched Jyo as he spoke. He seemed so much the same as he had before. Aside from his looks he was the same. Even his demeanor and the way he spoke to her. His indecisiveness and the need to touch her often. She had missed her gentle touches from him but she hadn't been ready.
The city was still a very scary place for her. She was not really used to people and it was still really hard to keep herself calm. But she and Alastin had ventured out there not too long ago and she was willing to try it again. Jyo's warm arms enveloped her again and she hugged him back laying her head against his shoulder. Her favorite spot on him. He was so strong and so helpful that it made everything seem so much better. She closed her eyes.
"I'm afraid of the city. Mostly I'm afraid of the strangers. But I'm working on it. I'm trying at least." she whispered softly. "So, if you'll bear with me. I would like to do both."
To know that she had the refuge of Jyo's room to return to when they were done with the harshness of the city would give her something to focus on. She also wanted to go on a date with Jyo. They hadn't been on one in some time and when he had come back from Japan so much had gone wrong that they had never truly gotten back together much after his coma. Life had definatly been hard for them and it was going to be hard to find that synchronization again.

"Well if it bothers you that much we can head right back here when it becomes too much for you." He said. After all the last thing she needs is a person who is supposed to be helping her drag her through something that disturbes her. "That way we can see how things go and if you are too uncomfortab;e we can just spend time together back here." he said and smiling as he felt hr head rest on his shoulder. He had always loved when she did this. He could tell she felt safe and comfotable around him when she was like this. "At least this much has stayed the same. You're giving me a very good reason to not want to go out and about and to just stay here with you instead you know?" he said with a soft chucle and making no signs of moving at the moment. Zaire was here in his arm as they were going to try and be together again. he wasn't concerned with things outside of them for the time being.

Ziare couldn't help but chuckle at his comment. It was true that she felt safe here and it was often that they would decide to stay in rather than go out somewhere. Sometimes it was nice just to be together where it didn't matter what you did but it was the time spent that meant the most. Giving each other more and more of your life.
He wrapped his arms around her a bit tighter and she made no moves. She in fact was ready to just fall asleep. He was turning out to be as comforting as always. She didn't move in the least when he said that she was slowly convincing him to stay. Instead she smiled softly.
"You know.. we can go on a date later. Maybe for now.. we can stay here together." she asked softly.
Her hand reached up and began threading through Jyo's now shorter red hair. It was soft and luxurious and she had always loved his hair. Sometimes she missed the fact that it was no longer blonde but she didn't mind the red. She was getting used to it.

Jyo smiled enjoying her hands going through his hair. God I missed that. I missed everything about being with her. He thought. "Well then lets just stay here. I'm sure we can think of something to do. It's been too long since we;ve been togethr like this." he said retunring the action of running his fingers through her hair as well. It was something that they had done for a logn time now. It had a sense of intamancy that was nothing but pure affection between them. Jyo was glad that it was something that would remain the same.
"So as I offered before. Would you care for something to drink or eat? mabey both. If you want you can have a seat on the couch and I'll join you in just a minute." He said and almost pointed to the fireplace to ignite a fire for them to sit in front of. Another thing they did often that he missed. But he remembered about his powers. Oh yeah. I can't do that anymore. Mabey I'll relearn my spells at some point. He thought and looked down at Zaire waiting for her answer.

Ziare smiled as his hand began working through her long blonde lockes. They were definatly shorter than he had ever seen them but she liked it and he didn't seem to mind. But he had died and so had she in a way and so she had taken her hair and tried to take her life all in the same day. She felt him tense to shoot fire into the fire place and chuckled.
Pulling back she took his hand and kissed the back of it gently. Looking up at him she smiled and pointed her own finger at the fire place the fire arrow shooting out and igniting the logs.
"Looks like that's my job from now on." she said with a smile.
She left his warm arms and sat down on the couch. Situating herself on one end her legs in an indian style she looked into the fire and smiled. There was that sense of nostalgia here at this moment. She and Jyo before a fire. Many times they had done this. Both had been fire elements and they had always loved the fire. She could not burn from it and so it was nice in a way for her because she was never afraid of fire.
"I would like something to eat and drink please." she said turning to look at Jyo. "You know what I like, I trust you." she said with a smile.

Jyo gave a far-off smile. "Yes at least for now it is." He said. He had full plans to take some classes in elemental magic again to try and relearn some of his lost spells. But for now he would let Zaire take over that job of lighting the fire so casually.
He went int the kitchen and made some of the tea he had made her when she had been recovering back when they had first satted seeing each other. She had taken well to it and he himself had missed drinking it hough he didn't need to anymore. He also had been baking some french bread. he buttered two slices and brought the tead and bread out.
"It's not alo right now. I still need to restock some things before I can really get to cooking again. But its still good food. And a bit of nice hot tea as well." He said setting Zaire's tea and bread down by her then taking the seat next to her with his wings over the back of the couch. He put and arm around Zaire and looked down at her. "Another thing we haven't done in a while. I'll admit it's nice to know that not everything is going to be different." He said taking a sip of his tea.
Ember emerged from Jyo's bedroom and walked in front of the couch looking at Jyo and Zaire. "So things begin to mend. That is good. I'm glad to see you are doing better Lady Zaire. I thought it was you I heard." He said letting them bother hear him as he decided to lay in front of them gazing at them for a few moments and then back to the fire with many thoughts on his complex mind. He was happy to see Zaire recovering. She was important to him every but as much as Jyo was. Granted it was in a different way but that meant very little.

Ziare smiled at the tea. It had been their favorite and she picked up the cup and saucer sipping it gently. She really didn't eat much these days and she was already growing thinner. She loved the taste of this tea. It was something Jyo had introduced her to and she had gotten hooked.
"Not everything has changed but some has." she admitted.
It was then that Ember came out of the back bedroom and she smiled at the summon bond. Ember spoke to them and she smiled at him again. Reaching down she scratched behind his ears and pet him gently.
"It's good to be better Ember." she said and sat back on the couch again leaned back into Jyo.
"Say Jyo. I'd like us to take a trip one day soon. Somewhere we've never been. Just us like we used to. Like when we went camping." she said softly.
