"You're not bad," she said bowing slightly.
Spreading her arms wide and twirling her scythe for only a moment, letting it whistle softly as the blade cut the air, Talbot moved towards him. She lunged to his left with the blade but instead of striking she laughed- having faked it and striking his shoulder playfully with the pole end.

Jyo nodded "As are you." he said and he swung o block her weapon. had it not been a fake his would have met her's but his weapon went through empty air. He had his sword sheathed by the time she had hit his shoulder.
But it seemed she had left the blade out just a hair to long. Jyo once more had whipped the sword from his sheath and he caught the inner curve of the scythe and he yanked his weapon back hoping to pulle her at him.

Reflexively Talbot changed her grip on the scythe- letting it slip through her fingers just as she came close enough- waving both hands she loosed two air balls at Jyo then used a small swipe of air to leviate her scythe back to her hands- she hopped back just out of sword reach.

Jyo was blasted back slightly and disengaged his attack. He landed smoothly and smiled. She has me ranged but without magic she has no chance up close. Now to do ths right. He thought and his eyes narrowed witn concetration even though there was no sign that Talbot could see. There was a change in the air.
"So are you ready for something slightly new?' He said and his right hand was held up as though he was holding a javelin. A bolt of lighting formed in his hand and he threw it at Talbot. It wasn't truly aimed to hit. But if it did it wouldn't damage her much instead it would slow her down slightly.
He rushed in after that with a smile on his face. He had disguised the reason for the magic in the air well. Now to see if it had worked correctly. Jyo wasn't a swords man or a speel caster in truth if he was to be described. He was a battle-mage at heart.

Talbot hadn't moved- she had senced something was amiss but failed to move at all, she had watched and paled slightly when she realized Jyo was moving at her. Her first reaction was to spin her scythe and cast Tornado Blade- the force of the air and the sensation of being cut should drive him back.

Jyo's right hand flew out and was aimed to meet the Scythe. The Scythe stopped not even and inch from Jyo's hand. He had used his solid force based magic to creat what was virtually a shield. He smiled again as he once more attacked with a draw strike using the flat of his blade to hit Talbot. He then leapt back.
Good reflexes. But I would suggest adding a bit more stratagey to all of this." He said still admiring her technique. Not many could properly use a Scythe in combat.

Talbot hopped on one leg for a minute, even in play being hit by the flat of a blade stung. She sighed softly, annoyed at herself and slightly dismayed she was being bested so quickly.
Holding her scythe like a lance and charging forward, he wanted a stradegy then he would get one- dividing her usual channel of ribbon cut to her hands and both scythe ends, she swung the staff at him- colliding with his blade giving enough force to hopefully make the blade drop as she dropped hers-- instead of trying to pierce him with her scythe she punched as she came within arms reach of his chest. Ducking down and sweeping the ground with her right foot she aimed to knock his feet out from under him, kicking up her fallen weapon at the same time, and facing the blade to his chest.

Jyo felt the kick hit him and he was flung back as he jumped along with the movment. He saw he scythe being held where his chest would have been had he not moved along like he did.
Not bad. Good job hiding the move He thought as he fell back down to the ground and his weapon started crackling with lighting from the base of the blade up. He aimed an attack directly at the scythe knowing if he broke it it would not be a problem as a staff member of the Academy could easily fix it with a wave of their hand.

Talbot spun her staff, moving it behind her back and casting a small wind shield- true the two properties were against one another but by casting ribbon cut and making the wall fall- being he was still on the ground it would be like being covered with a blanket of bees. She took a few steps away and waited.

Jyo managed to get a shield of his solid magic to cover him. But not until after being cut up lightly. He saw she wasn't going to stop for a while. So he took the time to fully charge his lighting Javelin again.
He waited until her spell was over and then this time he did his best to aim true with the magic attack to fully paralyze his foe.

Talbot cast quickly, this spell taking up most of her energy, she jumped high flipping and landing on the other side of him, out of range of the shot- sadly however she realized her right leg hand gone completly numb. Putting her weight on her left leg she sighed softly, "Nice trick!"
She had only enough energy to cast one big spell or three small ones and right now ribbon cut wouldn't do it. Instead she stood still holding her staff infront of her, waiting for his next move.

As she Jumped Jyo had flung his sword at her in a spiraling motion. If aime right it would nick her other leg. He was using the only form of wind magic he knew to bring the weapon back to him and grab it by the handle. It was now held in the traditional fencing stance.

With a numb leg Talbot had no choice but to jab at him, playfully, she smiled but this time it held an expression of annoyance- she could even bend her numbed leg to make hopping around eaisier- she was glad these stuns on adverage only lasted a few turns-- what a pain.
She faked a jab to his left side, popping at his right shoulder and dropped her scythe end low enough to poke at his stomach.

As soon as Jyo's weapon was back in his hand he felt a sarp jabe to his gut and stumbled back. She recovered quicker than I thought. Jyo didn't pause. His weapon parried hers away and a grin crept on his face at the challenge.
He then used a magic not even Ziare knew of. he tried sending a probe of thought into Talbot's head. It wasn't ment to read her mind or memories. Even if he had that level of mastery over it he wouldn't have done so. This was a subtle tounch to simply make her slower in reactions and so forth. If jyo did this right Talbot wouldn't even know it.

A steel trap went off in Talbot's mind- which should have turned Jyo's little mind tapping back on him threefold.
Talbot growled softly and swung her scythe hopping on her unnumbed leg as she did. Her father had been a mind and wind mage- how dare he try and sneak into her mind! Even to stun the mind is a precious thing and mistakes can be made. Talbot no longer smiled her face contorted angrily- even the smallest amount of mental meddling could kill someone.
"You stay out of my head- you hear me? Unless you've got six years of that under your belt don't you dare do it again!"
Talbot swung again with all her might, this time sending the blade just shy of his sword arm- close enough to remove fabric and steal a small amout of flesh. That should get her point across.
