Mathias strolled into the stadium... he was expecting someone to meet him for a match, someone to test his power against. Hunter against hunter, this should be interesting to say the least.
Mathias was outfitted in his classic apparell. On his blade he had a fire and a shadow augmenter, turning his living blade into the blackfire sword. This arena was a grassy ring with trees trimming the outside.
"Yoooohooooooooooo. Tristan." But hearing no response, he planted his sword deep into the ground and sat down, beginning to meditate.

First challenge...This would prove interesting. Tristan walked into the clearing, fully armed, Igneus on his shoulder. His steps were muffled by the grass but he was making no effort to remain quiet. A slight jerk of the head indicated for Igneus to fly off and sit in a tree until needed, and the tiny black dragon did so.
The crusnik, who had not revealed himself to be such yet, walked out infront of his challenger. "Mathias I presume." He said, the lumbering pillar of a man was a good six feet from his opponent, and he eyed the strange blade stuck in the ground behind shaded eyes.

"You would presume right. I'd keep back if i were you. My blade hasn't had a meal for a while, and your quite close to it's feeder strings." He didnt move from his position, he was still meditating in his spot, building up his energy output for his blade.
"And you would be Tristan, no?" Mathias had no familiars to order, so he simply sat, sat and waited for whatever may come.

"Living blade huh?...I'd think it would find me in distaste." He said calmly, not bothering to step back, after all he was who he was and had enough fire power to take down a dragon, almost literally. There is something alive in that blade...Whether it's the blade itsself or something inside it I can't tell Came Igneus' thoughts. [Souka...] Was his mental reply.
"Well...You called me here, let's get to it." He took his stance, sliding his right foot back. He would leave his weapons out of it for now as the power his sword could exude was at an insane level.

He stood and drew his blade up with it, not yet activating the augments in it. The feeders came back into the blade and it let out a soft croon of content from the energy output of mathias. An eyeball fluttered upen in the center of the crossguard. The iris of it was a dark purple and it seemed to have an innocent bloodlust in its gaze. It was fixed right on Tristan.
"No, my dear, his soul is not for the taking, this is merely a test of our power." And the blade seemed to make a sound of agreement as the eye fluttered shut once more as if it were resting.
Mathias took a neutral stance and faced Tristan... and so the fight began.

Tristan shot forward, hands up to block the blade with an armored hand. Coming in range, Tristan would throw a quick one two, disguising a hard snap kick with steel toed size fourteens. If any of those hit, Mathias would be in a world of hurt as metal would strike bone in every strike.
The hunter had been slightly bewildered by the eye on the sword, but weirder shit happens in the realm of magic...Almost on a daily basis to. Kinda of sad really. Each strike would follow the next regardless of dodging or blocking, unless of course the man lept far beyond reach, then continuing the combo would just be pointless.

Mathias lept back. With any luck this would throw him off balance. From his vampire blood things seemed to slow down a bit, giving him time to take in his opponents strikes. He quickly identified the snap kick and drew a pistol, sniping his shoetip. The steel core bullet would split a hole in the shoe, causing the shards to slice his toes open, hopefully slowing him down. But thats only if the bullet hit, of course.
Mathias threw a small satchel into the air as the dust burst from it and covered the feild in a thick cloud, it would take 2 posts to settle, and after that there was a 5 post countdown until the feild effect took place.
"I hope you can see in sand"
He merely stood where he was, eyes closed and waiting for Tristan to make his next move

Tristan's combo stopped when Mathias lept back and the bullet sunk into the dirt. The man then scattered some sort of dust. What ever it was, it wasn't good. [Katon] Tristan thought, inhaling plain air before the dust came down. He breathed out hard and slow.
A huge fire ball burst from his mouth and ignited the dust. The flame spread to cover all of the falling dust, and even lit up the grass underfoot. Depending on how much of the dust was in the air, it would even reach mathias. The flames were intense and Igneus watched with amusement as the particals incinerated in mid air. Once they were all gone, Tristan would halt his flaming breath, and take back his stance.

Mathias jumped high into the air, just above the dust, he didnt want to be in there, half because of his weakness to fire, but mostly because he didnt want to be part of the effect that was about to take place...
The flame spread quickly throughout the dust and just brushed mathias. But as the flame passed over, the "sand" grew heavier and before it even hit the floor it erupted into feeder strings, this would completely cover tristan if he didnt act FAST. Before mathias could even decend into the cloud, it transformed, and he landed on the mass of strings. These strings would all but drain Tristan, regardless of his bloods taste. Strings would rise high above the initial entanglement that was about 10 feet high. With the strings flying upwards, the entire entity would be about 30 feet high sucking the blood from everything that came in contact with it. It was pretty much now a killer blackberry bush. lucky the dragon had time to escape.

"Fuck." Tristan said, jumping up and back as hard and fast as possible. He soard up high, just out of the reach of the strings. He flew back to a branch a little under thirty feet in the air then took off again to a higher perch. Is it just me...Or do these things defy all logic. Igneus asked in a half rhetorical way. [Yes...They do.] Was the responce as Tristan landed on a perch a good fourty feet in the air.
The threads writhed about with Tristan and Igneus out of reach. The hunter stood, leaning against the trunk of the tree. "So...What to we to now, those things are too thin to just be for restraint." Tristan asked the small black lizard who was standing at his feet. No idea....
"Fuck...." He couldn't say much more than that, he didn't know what to do, he was stuck to the trees and would have to lure Mathias up. After having gone through so much shit and fought so many different things as a hunter, he was truly stumped. He only had one thing going for him now, and it probably wasn't much.

Mathias walked calmly along the thicket of feeder strings, his sword crooning happily as it draws the blood from birds that fly into the plume of strings.
"You cant stay up there forever, and i'll make sure of it!" and with a single swipe he cuts down every tree in that quarter, forcing Tristan to jump around until all the trees are gone, or forcing him to fight.

Tristan, hearing the words, pulled out his twin hand guns and fired off six rounds at mathias. All at different points on the body so it would be difficult to block them with that sword. The bullets would reach him before his sword reached the trees, forcing him to abandon the assault on the wood platforms.
If he pursued in chopping down the tree, he would get an enchanted bullet aimed right at the top of his chest each time. The bullets Tristan had were all enchanted to peirce most armor. More or less, the only things they couldn't force their way through were: Dragon scales, Pure diamond, A stronger defensive enchantment, and slag worm hide. That last one sort of fell under the stronger defensive enchantment category but whatever.

Mathias heard each shot ring out through the stadium and looked up to see the bullets coming right at him... wait, that wasn't right, he could see them? Time almost seemed to slow, or he just sped up. He just passed it off as one of his vampiric abilities. After all, he had never been shot at before. He took his sword and began spinning it around, taking advantage of his hightened speed. The bullets would get caught in this vortex created by his blade. Mathias would slash infront of him, lining the bullets up in a neat row, and, completing the spin, would hit the bullets with his blade, sending them right back at tristan with just as much force as they were delivered.
Regardless, he felt he got lucky this time and backed away from his assault on the trees.
Mathias took another approach instead. He sank himself into the tangle of strings and planted his sword into the ground so it could connect with and controll the roots. He gave the sword his orders and it proceeded to manipulate the roots to push up from the base of the trees. Though it was difficult, the trees would eventually uproot themselves and fall towards the entanglement.

Tristan saw the bullets line up below, then saw the flick of the sword as the bullets took off with the same velocity as Tristan's handguns. Igneus made a small grumble of laughter to the thought. The hunter normally would have bothered to dodge, but all sixe shells were heading directly at his chest.
Each of the six, semi crushed, bullets stopped dead three inches from the coat. They dropped from the air, curteosy of the wards on Tristans vest. Tristan saw Mathias jump into the tangle of roots and plant his sword in them. He lept from his current perch to another vantage point, one where he could just see Mathias between some of the thick vines.
He aimed his twin hand guns right at that point and squeezed off ten rounds. With the sword in the vines and the confined space of his current housing, there was an extremely high probability of all ten shots hitting. Even if the vines moved to protect the man, with the enchantment on the bullets theyd go right through and hit Mathias, though cause much less damage.

Mathias knew the risk he took when he dove in, and he had a plan for this. He ordered through his sword the manipulation of the strings. The sword glowed a deep purple with the combined elemental augments. The strings wove together to make a spike straight at tristan. Mathias knew these bullets couldn't be stopped, but diverting was another thing. Mathias used the swords power to create a cold fire that froze the spike. The steep slope of the frozen spike would cause the bullets to richochet off and hit around Mathias. Now the trees were toppling inward toward the entanglement. Mathias would remain unharmed, as the strings would catch the trees before they hit the ground.
