Starlight Deck A deck at the top most of the ship. Filled with soft plush lounges for you alone or with your date to gaze up at the stars. It is also the perfect place to spend a few quality moments with your date in the fresh air. Up here there is also a swimming pool if you are dressed for that. Swimsuits are in your rooms if you would like to take advantage of the pool. Enjoy the view.

Torm stands by the railing at the ship's stern. Stories below, the churning engines carve a foaming swath in the sea, and the frothy, disturbed water forms a trail that fades off into the distance under the night sky. The moon looms relatively large in the uninterruped dome of stars that stretches out and above in all directions.
And so Torm stands there, one hand idly holding an ornamental red cane, the other cradling a drink in a delicate glass, looking about at the ocean and the night sky, totally carefree. A sudden stronger gust of wind billows his white dress coat and threatens to take his hat with it, but the wind subsides and calm reasserts itself. Torm had been skeptical when the tailor had suggested a mostly white ensemble, but the idea had grown on him. He was not a vain person, but he didn't mind being well-dressed, even if his idea of dressing stylishly didn't always coincide with that of others.
There are countless students on the boat, but few are out on the open-air decks at this time; most are either dancing with their dates or making merry in the restaurants and facilities. Torm plans to join them at some point in the near future, but for now, he enjoys the first few minutes of time he's had to appreciate being near the earth's surface in a long while. Most people in the city of Babylos probably didn't think about it much, but the fact that the city is an isolated, contained island in the sky still lurks in the back of most minds. Being on the sea is a special treat, also. The scent of salt water and balmy ocean breezes is not something that can be found up there.

"Aww, look, little Tormy's all alone," Mint says in the sort of voice someone might use to make fun of a toddler. On her face is an expression of mock pity, which immediately dissolves into a giggle and cheerful smile. She strides perkily to the railing near him and spins to lean back against it. "Sooooo, wheres your date?" Mint asks. "I'm sure she's lonely."
She appraises his appearance momentarily. It's a cool get up, in a rakish sort of way. She continues, "Well, you're all spiffed up! This is something new! Why aren't you down in the festivities?!" Mint tosses her marginally neatened hair and looks thoughtfully up at the spindly tower in the middle of the ship, smiling.

Mint's first tease immediately rankles Torm; not because what she said truly bothers him but the spirit in which it was intended. Torm turns from the sea to look at her as she approaches. She really was beautiful tonight; her eyes match the sky blue in her dress, but then again her eyes always seem to change shades to match her clothes, so that isn't really a stretch. If only she wasn't so damn annoying! She was always this way.
"No, I'm here alone, Mint. I was busy and didn't hear about this event until a couple days ago, so I figured everyone was already going with someone. At that point, if a date was going to happen, it would happen on its own or it wouldn't."
He could never tell whether she was complimenting or making fun of him; such was the case with her comment on his clothes. "If you must know why I'm not at the party right now, I just felt the need to see the surface at eye level for a few minutes. Life in the sky wears on me after a while."
Torm grins wryly down at her. "How about you? You're all 'spiffed up' too, I see. Why aren't you making merry with the general populace?"

Mint is a little miffed by his comments. "Well, if you must know, I didn't come with anyone either. I turned down quite a few NPCs though, let me tell you. as for being up here, I grew up by the sea, so it's a piece of home for me."
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Mint leaps up and swipes Torm's white hat and jams it on her own head. Then, she dashes up a short nearby staircase onto an upper deck and leans on the railing, her chin resting in her hands. "You lazy, lazy man, Torm! 'A date will happen if it happens...' One sure as hell won't happen if you don't get off your ass and ask people out on them." Mint leans back while hanging onto the railing. "You could have asked me, for example..." Suddenly, as if realizing what she was saying and thinking better of her words, she scowls and adds, "Not that I would have said yes to the likes of you, you lazy cheuvanist. Whoa!" Mint's grip on the railing slips, and she falls backwards onto the deck in a rather comical fashion. Immediately, she jerks back to her feet, cheeks tinged red with embarassment, and dusts herself off.

Torm chuckles a little when she talks about not having come with anyone herself. "Ahh, so don't be making fun of me for not bringing a date." He was about to ask her what an NPC was when she snatched his hat and ran up to a walkway above and to the side of the stern deck. It looked ridiculous on her with that dress, but it was cute in a funny sort of way.
Then she makes that comment about how he could have asked her, which seems to throw her off balance as much as it does Torm. That came out of nowhere... Then, as if recovering her thoughts, she proceeds to insult him. Her clumsy fall afterwards takes off some of the effect, but it was still there. Now she was definitely making fun of Torm, and it kinda pissed him off. "What makes you think I woulda asked you anyway?" He holds his hand up towards where she stands on the balcony. "Now gimme back my hat." At that moment, a passing observer might note how much the scene looked like a silly parody of a 'Romeo and Juliet' scene.

Angrily, Mint tosses the hat down to the lower deck forcefully. "You are impossible, Tor-Maigh Mac-Rag-All-Ach!" she says, carefully prounouncing each syllable.
"Fine, be that way!" she shouts hoarsely, and turns to sit on the deck facing away from Torm. Whatever his response is, she shouts "FINE!" at him again. Mint curls her legs up and hugs her nees. She appears to be studying the deck intently, bu her thoughts and focus are inwords. Torm was causing her a lot of anguish. *He's being so mean, and he doesn't understand at all...* she thinks as she bites her bottom lip a little and remains motionless.

Impossible, am I? Torm thinks. She's the one who's impossible, getting all upset and flustered. Mint: "Fine, be that way! Torm: "Well fine, YOU be that way!" Mint:"FINE!" Torm: "FINE!" As Mint whirls about and sits curled up facing away from him, Torm immediately regrets getting upset. I didn't actually hurt her, did I? Slowly, Torm scoops up his hat, but does not put it back on. He quietly climbs the stairs to where Mint sits, and looks at her for a few moments. All curled up and biting her lip like that, she looks so sad and innocent. He really feels bad about getting upset now; he should have remembered that it was just her nature.
A little roughly but not too much so, Torm presses his hat onto her head. He does not smile but asks softly, "...want to go get a drink?"

(OOC: I just can't get over how smooth you played that. I'm still chuckling!)
As Mint sits, alone in her miserable thoughts, she feels something land on her head. To her surprise, Torm's white hat has been plopped on her noggin! She looks up and to the side to find him standing there, slhouetted against the night sky. Well, silhouetted as well as anyone wearing all white can be a sillouhette.
"...wan't to go get a drink?" He asks her. With this serious but friendly question, Mint is immediately flooded with relief and happiness. Maybe this guy wasn't so hopeless after all. A wide grin crosses her face, and she laughs a little as he holds a hand up for him to help her to her feet. "It's always drinks, with you. Why drinks?"

(OOC: Haha, I actually thought I was doing what I was supposed to!)
Torm takes Mint's hand and hauls her to her feet. Well, she's not shouting at me anymore, and she's not moping either, so I'd call that an improvement. Perhaps she just needed a good shout for some reason. Regardless, Torm is glad they're still on good terms. As for that drink, well, the sea air is great to breathe for a few minutes, but all that salt makes Torm thirsty too. He sticks out a crook'd arm for her to put hers through. "In all our ravings, what really threw me for the biggest loop was that you could pronounce my full name, Mint," he says jokingly. "Most people hear it and just give up. If the drinks weren't free already, they'd be on me, just for that."
He wiggles the crook'd arm. "You coming?"

Xavier wandered out onto the deck looking for Lex. He spotted her but than grimaced a little hen he noticed that Darts was over there talking to her. Geez they had gotten into one fight and already this guy was trying to move in on her. Xavier knew she was attractive, but this was getting ridiculous. He made his way over to the two of them and stood next to Lex, taking her hand in his and squeezing it gently.
"So everything's worked out then right?" He asked with a good-natured grin, "I know you probably don't believe it Darts but it really was one big accident...I didn't mean for you to hear that at all," he said with a nod. Then he looked over at Lex with a grin, "So I apologized and everything...we're done fighting now right...no need to use the dagger on me?" he asked jokingly with a chuckle, but there was a faintly nervous quality to his chuckle.
He knew Lex would use the dagger on him if she truly got pissed at him. But he was hoping that this wasn't a reason to get really pissed at him, just a little. What he really wanted was just to get her alone so this whole thing could just blow over and he could attempt to salvage what was left of this night.
He pulled her a little closer to him, squeezing her hand softly again, "Lex," he said as he looked down into her eyes, "Come on it's getting cold out here...let's go inside, wouldn't want you to catch a cold on tonight of all nights. Besides it'll be much warmer inside together," he said with a soft grin.

Lexi leaned over the rail slightly looking out at the dark ocean. She liked the sea. Never having been on it at least that she could remember it was amazing to see something so entirely vast. The waves rocked the boat but you could almost not tell as massive as the ship they were on was.
She finished her beer quickly and threw it in the proper trash can on the deck. Leaning against the railing someone came up next to her. Her face didn't move but her hazel eyes did and she saw it was Darts. She couldn't help but admit she had hoped it was Xav but it wasn't she only hoped that Xav had at least appologized.
"You didn't ruin my evening. So don't go all mopey on me and blame yourself. Got it?" she asked in her normal harsh tone. She sighed and soon she felt someone take her hand.
She hid the smile that wanted to come to her face. Instead she still looked pissed and ignored them both while they talked around her. Xav pulled her in closer to him and she finally looked up at him. No smile crossing her face and no look in her eyes as she looked up into his. He asked her if she would accompany him back inside. It seemed he had appoloigized. She looked over at Darts.
"Have a nice night." she said as she looked back up into Xav's eyes as he led her away.
She didn't say anything as Xav led her through the ship back to the lounge. She still wanted that drink and if they were going somewhere warm where she didn't have to stand in the shoes she was going to burn tonight then she assumed it was the lounge.

“You’re Right Xav.” Darts Stared at Xav. “I don’t believe you. But I don’t care. I forgave you and that is good enough for me. I don’t think I can believe you did it by accident. It was fairly loud. That doesn’t matter know anyway.”
Darts watched as they began to leave and Lex wished him a nice night. He smirked and turned around to look out the sea. The moon way out and he looked up at it. He kept thinking to himself about Lex. It wasn’t anything mushy or loving. It was denial.
“I don’t care that she is dating him, I really don’t, why would I. There is no reason to so I don’t That is just the way it is. But...why am I thinking about her now then. Damn.”
He moved from the rail and headed back into the lounge. He needed a beer really badly. He walked up to the bar and ordered one. He chugged it down and ordered another. He chugged that one down as well and then just sat there admiring the scenery. It was a very beautiful ship. He saw Dusk flying around far above everyone’s heads. He smirked and then turned to the bartender for a third drink. He sipped this one and put it on the counter. He didn’t want to chug this one down as well.

Mint hesistates for a moment. "Ahh, what the hell," whe says, and puts her arm through Torms. "Well, of course I can pronounce it! Anyone without a sock for a tongue could do it, don't patronize me," she says; a joking reply to a joking remark. The pair of them make their way inside to the lounge's door. As they head for the entrance to the restaurant, Mint grabs the brim of the hat, which she is still wearing, and pulls down on it so her eyes are hidden in shadow. Anyone watching very carefully might have seen her irises flash to a shade of violent magenta for a moment before fading back to a sky blue matching her dress. In her head she thinks to herself, *...I lied to you Torm. The only reason I can manage to pronounce that gibberish of a name is because..."
The two arrive at the door. Mint laughs and gives him a friendly shove so that the doorpost is in his path, and dashes inside ahead of him. *...because I've had practice...in dreams...*

Corsair noticed a few other people were already out here on the deck. But there was a good amount of places here that he and Midori could feel like they were not around anyone for a while. He look up at the sky and nearly gasped. Not even out in the country back home had he seen so many stars. It seemed like every star in the universe was here to be seen. And with no moon the sky seemed to have no end.
"Well I figured this would be romantic. But I guess I didn't know how much." He said as he lead Midori to the edge of the deck near the railing and then looked down at her. The sight of her tonight simply tantalized him. He had a harder time keeping his eyes off of her then yesterday. And coupled with her beatuy and his rapidly growing feelings for her. It was making his night the best in his life so far.
