Talbot looked at the ruby eyed boy, her own gray eyes taking in his appearence before a smile crept onto her face. She showed no fatigue even after her long night of studying on her majick and in truth she felt none of it but that could have been because of the rose wine- who knew? She nodded her head and answered softly, "I'm good. And none of that 'Ms' stuff-" she stuck out her left hand, for she was a lefty, and continued, "I'm Talbot Linsorim." (Wolf laughed a bit and he walked a bit more over to the girl named Talbot. He stoped about a feet away from her and smiled as he moved his right hand into his pocket while his left arm was out, showing the golden claw.) Nice to meet you Talbot. I'm Wolf.... well I don't have a last name. (Wolf looked around and saw something around the area and wondered why she was in a courtyard. But soon snaped his head back to Talbot with some what of a confused look.) So why are you here?

"There you are, nice and clean." Joseph said to his revolver as he clipped the final piece back into place. Spinning the gun in his hand it glinted in the light of a near-by fire. The emblem on his back felt warm. "Yeah, you're welcome." he replied before holstering the weapon and standing up.
The gunmages stretched out his back with a yawn before looking around. Off in the darkness he spotted a girl standing alone. He shrugged, why not, might as well say hello. Midnight left his tent and made his way off towards Niero. "Now what's a cute girl like you doing all alone over here in the dark?" he asked casually with a smile.

There isn't really a rhyme or reason I just am." She looked distant for a moment, saddened by her own words- but she looked back at him with a well worn smile. Her gray eyes seeming jovial, "What about you, Golden boy?"

Eldran started walking the perimeter of the camp. He would adjust his eyes every now and then peer out a pair of binoculars for incoming threats. He had packed away only practical gear for this trip and bought extra, even though he knew the base was likely to be at least decently stocked. He carried a little survival gear on him, just in case.
And hoped what he had read in the books would hold out if he had to use it to survive in the wilderness. He REALLY didn't want it to come to that.
He grumped a little as he watched and munched on a peice of jerky. "We get called all the way out here from our studies to deal with this, when the professionals could just as easily deal with it. We're just students."
He would have like to be nose-deep in a book right now, but he knew someone had to keep watch and it mine as well be him.
He sighed and continued on watch, but he kept his ears open as well.

Me? You can say I'm a lost soul, looking for a reason to fight and live. Nothing big.
(Wolf smiled at his own words as he knew it was the truth after his family kicked him out. He did turn into some kind of lost soul, looking for a reason to fight on and live everyday. Soon his left hand made a fist as it was making Wolf feel some pain. To take his mind off the pain, Wolf removed his right hand out of his pocket and pulled out the deck of playing cards. Wolf spred out the cards, have the cards face the ground.)
How about a little game. Pick a card. They say that the card you pick so what your soul it like.

Yukiko's attention soon lay upon the figure who came over and spoke to her. She personally didn't expect it, but then again, being someone like herself doesn't seem to expect these things. Anyway, she looked at the figure carefully, as if studying him, though not obvious whatsoever, for her eyes remained the same dull and empty blue. Her expression remained the same as her lips parted, replying slowly, her tone of voice somewhat low and monotoned.
"It's cooler here." she replied simply. A slight shrug can be seen, though barely. She supposed she isn't one who produces big actions.
Either way, she kept her eyes on the male. She doesn't remember seeing him before either, like most other people really, but a gun mage? She would be sure she'd remember if she had seen him before.

Talbot looked at the deck of cards- she had done this once before and only once. Her father had taken her to a fortune teller and- the death of that fortune teller still haunted her dreams from time to time.
She ddin't hesitate and she chose one card from the left side and sighed, she looked at the familar card and shook her head, showing him her card, Ace of Spades.

Joseph looked aorund as if he could see temperature then back down to her with a shrug. "Well, if you want cold, you should try being out on the sand dunes. It gets freezing out there at night. I'm Joseph Midnight by the way. What's your name?" he asked politley offering his hand. The girl was cute though obviously younger than him. She seemed so calm...that made him wonder why the school brought her to a potential battlefield. The girl certainly didn't seem like one meant for war.

I see, so your fate is sealed. But fate can be changed with will.
(Wolf smiled and with his left hand, he drew a card himself. But it would be the same card every time he did this. He slowly drew the card and smiled as he looked at the card and then he shown it to Talbot, it was the Joker card.)
Unlike you, my fate is unseen. Like the Joker card here, I belong nowhere.
(Wolf placed the Joker card back and grabed the Ace of Spade out of Talbot's. He didn't slowly and placed that card back in the deck and the deck itself into the holder on his right side.)
A Joker and a Ace of Spade... hm.

Yukiko looked at Joseph as she thought for a bit. The sand dunes. Oh right. How could she have forgot about that? It would prove to be a good training place, especially with the temperature.
"Maybe I will ...." she answered softly, her tone same monotoned one from before. She gave a slight shrug, also barely visible due to her lack of movement.
Yukiko watched as the gentleman extended his hand. Slowly, she herself reached out towards his, and soon made contact as she shook his hand slightly. "Neiro Yukiko (last, first)." she said, introducing herself as well, politely. It felt strange though, saying her 'fake' name, no matter how many times she has heard others call her or when she introduces herself. She didn't quite understand why, to be serious, since she had been using this name since a very young age. She should be used to it by now, and well, she guessed she is, yet it still feels somewhat weird using it. She supposed that, in a way, she desires a day when she can use her 'real' name in public, though that day will most likely never come. It was for her own good, she supposed. Shrugging the thought off mentally, she kept her eyes on the gun mage, her expression constant and unchanging.

Eldran circled the perimeter several times and handed the watch duty off to another, older student before coming back down into the main grounds. He pulled out a small book and began reading at a decently fast past, letting his rather rare breed of memory absorb the information on the different sorts of beasts, dragons, etc, that they might be facing, so that anything useful like specific weaknesses of different breeds of the same beast, he would be able to tell them.
Since he only focused on the tactical knowledge, he was able to finish the book at a rather quick speed and then snapped it shut.
"And done." The knowledge burned comfortably in his mind. He started walking over to Ziare, seeing a familiar face and wanting to say hi.

The gunmage shook her hand with a smile, "Well it's a pleasure to meet you Yukiko. Though if you decide to go out there on the sand, why not let me know first, I'll go with you. None of us should really be off alone at a time like this." Joseph cocked his head as he studied the girl. So Talbot wasn't the quiet one...Yukiko was. "If you don't mind me asking...what's your specialty...when it comes to magic I mean?"

Suddenly, over the walls of the camp, which is to say fairly tall, a swarm of beasts just jumped over it, rushing into the camp with great jumping skill. They were wolves, rushing into the camp with fire, ice, and other elements sprawled about their fur as they bite and attacked a few mages, biting some and killing others. Quickly the camp was in a uproar, that already a vanguard of wolves have breached the walls of the base. And it wasn't letting up either, it seemed more and more wolves came rushing in. Quickly a group of mages took off, to re-solidify their position as they tried to fight off this group.
Swiftly, a group of Elemental Wolves, with their furs becoming their element (Ice, Fire, Metal, etc) rushed off toward the Gunmage Midnight, and the Card player Wolf. Meanwhile, another group was heading toward Jyo and Ziare, their furs turning into weapons as the sun went softly over the horizon, turning the day into night.....

(((ooc: T____T I typed up a whole post before ... but when I clicked post reply ... I was signed out >.> so my post was lost ... grr ==; oh well .. xD)))
Yukiko said nothing as she just gave a slight nod regarding his first comment. She supposed he's right, for they really shouldn't be wandering off at a time like this, seeing as they were ordered to be on defensive matters.
Anyway, when she heard what Joseph had asked, regarding her magical style, she couldn't help but think about her ancestors, who inherited the power long ago, and passed it down from generation to generation. Just as she was about to answer, something else caught her attention. Her eyes widened mentally as she saw the pakc of elemental wolves, though her face remained calm and emotionless.
"Looks like we have company ..." she said slowly, her tone of voice low and lackign emotions like usual. She supposed he'll just have to find out her specialty for himself while they defend the camp.
Raising a hand slightly, ice quickly formed beneath the wolves, meaning as an obstacle for them to come quickly. They would most likely slide and some may fall and anything along those lines. Either way, Yukiko can't say she's enjoying this intrusion, not because she does not wish to fight, but rather because she thought of these creatures' actions as mindless and obnoxious.

Joseph gritted his teeth at the site of the wolves. So the girl was a ice witch. A very useful trait in most cases, but the ice wolves were immune to her ploy. The gunmage quickly pulled her behind him as he drew his revolver. His muscles tightened as he charged his ammunition with his energy. Five loud cracks range out as the weapon discharged five glowing bullets. Each one collided with an ice wolf. Two lost a leg while the others slumped dead from headshots. With each impact Joseph visably wince from his empathy. Even to d**ned beasts!
"Come on, we have to fall back and join up with some of the others." He said as he cast Replensih to fill the empty chambers of his loader. two more bullets range out, and twice more he felt a wave of pain. The flame wolves were begining to melt the frozen ground giving the rest of the pack friction.
