Mission Name: Witness
Suggested Level: Apprentice-Mage
Format: Free Form (Note that you WILL be skipped if you do not post much)
Sign-Up 1.________ 2.________ 3.________ (When you sign up, please also post yourself in the Briefing Room.)
Scenario: In Sousville, USA, a magical disturbance was detected. Apparently, an Elemental destroyed a good deal of the woods nearby, leaving many people in shock of what they saw. The Tracers were dispatched along with D-13 Agents who memory wiped the witnesses. To the local media, the woods were a result of a small forest fire which occurred and was promptly put down.
However, one man was not affected by the memory wiped. This man initially began to began to speak about what he saw, and how it affected him. The man said that he saw magic, in the form of a conglomeration of various elements naturally. However, many people didn't believe him, and instead mocked the poor soul and ostracized him from society. However, the Tracers, for safety, were dispatched once more to memory wipe him. However, when they tried the man was not affected by the Tracer's spell, some sort of power was blocking out their own spell.
Fearing for their safety, the Tracers instead rushed back and ordered the Academy to send 3 Well-Trained students to deal with this problem, to understand the circumstances regarding the Elemental, what happened to it, and the Secret behind this man's resistance to memory wipe: Silabus Rote.
EDIT: Changed Elemental Wolf to just plain Elemental... I needed to change a few things around....

1. Keiko Nihara 2. __________ 3. __________
Keiko had heard rumor that the academy needed a few students to step up to the plate and take on a story of an elemental wolf. It was intriguing and well Keiko loved all things cuddly so she had put her name on the list as fast as it had gone up. It was chill out as of late seeing as Christmas was closing in on everyone. She worke a soft baby blue sweater that had little white argile diamonds on the front and over that was a nice zippy hoody that was pure white just like snow but lined with black fur to keep her extra toasty.
Her new kitty, or rather tiger, was at home enjoying the cool day as one blue jeaned Keiko made her way through the halls. A messenger bag filled to the brim with feather light paper bounced methodically against her thigh as she made her way to the briefing room. Opening the door she stepped in and took a seat with a bright smile on her face. A mission was exciting. No longer was she the Keiko everyone had to take care of but she was gonna do it herself. Hopefully it wouldn't thunder but.. but she would be strong if she could just in case.
And so the cute little redheaded girl waited. Woe for any who were in her party and did not know how to deal with a hyperactive papermage.

1. Keiko Nihara 2. Raiden Matsutani 3. __________
Raiden only been in the Academy for a week atleast, but he was getting the hang of things for now. For the most part it was unsual getting used to all this new things he's never witness before. There was a paper on a bulletin board on a hallway. Raiden read it and for the most part understood what it was asking. He picked up the pencil and gave it a weird look. Never in the Edo period of Japan he would have ever seen anything like that. He looked at a postition on the sheet where he could sign. He finished and walked away heading towards the briefing room as it had instructed.
Raiden whizzed down the hallway at the fast pace he always walks and pushed open the doors to the briefing room. Looked around and spotted a woman sitting in a chair. Silent as always he sat a seat adjacent from her and folded his arms tapping his bicep with his index finger. The mission alone indeed sounded strange to him."An elemental wolf..." he said to himself.

1. Keiko Nihara 2. Raiden Matsutani 3. Lucian Dragomir
Lucian had been fascinated with the Tracers ever since he had witnessed their handiwork in France when he had undertaken a mission to close a rupture there. The mission was a success but what Lucian took away most from the mission was respect for those who bore the title Tracer. They were an elite force and he had seen first hand how elite they truly were, able to make an entire village disappear from the face of the planet.
When he had heard that they required assistance with another mission he was ready to lend his assistance. Donning his typical battlewear a black tank top that left his arms exposed for easy access to his runes and a pair comfortable loose fitting black track pants.
He made his way towards the designated briefing area and walked in, quiet as usual. There were only two other peeople in the room a redhaired girl, rather small, and a strange looking boy with a talon for one hand. He nodded in their direction as a greeting and took his seat. Outwardly he remained calm and collected but inwardly he was rather excited to get the details of this mission.

Walking briskly into the room, Kenji Rio looked at the three students who eagerly volunteered themselves for this mission. Of course, what he was really doing was looking at their souls due to his "Blindness". One seemed to be the soul of a young woman, while the other seems to be ancient, with a demonic aura. Regardless, his skill level was no where near to Kenji's. Talking a look at the final member, it seemed to be that of a man... Who was interested in the Tracers. Mr. Rio kept this thought in mind, wondering whether or not the man would be Tracer material.
Placing his hands upon the table, a sudden hologram (Magical in it's Nature) appeared before the three students. What appeared before them was a small town with a huge forest, and within that forest there is a huge black scorch across the Earth.
"What you see here is Sousville" Kenji said in his usual business-like deep voice "along the back and sides of the small town lies a huge forest, stretching past 20 miles. Apparently, an Elemental got past D-13's and our regulation, and thus started a huge magical fire. Forces were dispatched to deal with the fire and elemental, but the only thing the Tracers found was a fire, no elemental. Anyways, our forces then began to mind wipe all witnesses, save one. His name is Silabus Rote, and all our memory spells had no effect upon him."
With that, Kenji threw a folder toward the three, inside a bio of Silabus.
"He is just a regular human. He displayed no supernatural abilities, nor had anything else of note for that matter. That is why I want you to go down to Sousville and investigate this man and the fate of the missing Elemental. Our Tracer bases have been set up in a Gas Station right outside of town, inside at least two dozen Tracers doing checks upon the town for other signs of magic. You shall be teleported via Warp Hole, over here"
With that, Rio opened a small wooden door nearby. Inside was a huge blue hole, floating right in the air.
"Here we go" The Blind man said....
Objective: Arrive at the Gas Station/Tracer Camp

Raiden sat in his seat staring up at the ceiling tapping his index finger on the table this time. After a short period of time a man walked into the room. Raiden looked over at the man giving the guy a questioning look. It was strange, the guy gave a sense that could see, but only with his mind's eye. Raiden sat up and stared towards the middle of the table at the strange 'illusion' in the center. He had never seen anything like that before, as his right eyebrow raised.
'This Elemental really sounds like trouble...at best I want to stop this before things get worse. This is a good way to make up for my bad deeds....' he said to himself.
After the man had talked of what's going on. Raiden stood up and stretched. He glanced back over at the other two for a second and then walked over to the door the blind man was standing by. He glanced over at the blue hole and the Rio again. Without a second thought Raiden silently went through the blue hole unknowing of what would be on the other side.

Lucian watched and listened with patience as the Kenji Rio epxlained the mission. He watched the hologram with interest as Rio explained the mission to them. A fire elemental, it sounded like an interesting challenge and the thought of tackling such a creature made him grin faintly in excitement. Missions for the Tracers were always interesting and proved a good challenge for Lucian's combat abilities. So far the briefing sounded rather mundane, the elemental had been able to avoid D-13 and Tracer security somehow. The elemental escaped by the Tracer's memory wipe protocol seemed to go well, however apparently one of the people in the town was immune to their memory spells.
His eyes raised a little in surprise and interest as he took the file Kenji threw out on the table. Lucian thumbed through the pages of the file, going over the details of one Mr. Silabus Rote. The man was so ordinary, it was almost boring to read the report on him. How could a man like this be able to fight against the Tracer's memory wipe spells. Lucian finished thumbing through the file with a faintly perplexed expression as he shook his head a little.
"Well, I suppose it's time to go to work," he said softly as he stood up as Kenji finished the briefing and motioned towards a room with a blue warp hole in it, "I'm Lucian...see you on the other side miss," he said nodding to the small redhead. The other member of their team had already made his way through the warp hole.
Lucian took a faint breath, he hated teleporting, the yanking feeling always unnerved him a little. He stepped through and the familiar yanking feeling took hold as he felt himself being pulled through space. The blackness and hurtling feeling gave way to solid ground an old road which ran past a run down looking gas station.
"Must be the place," Lucian said to himself, as he made his way over to the gas station. It seemed run down and old on the outside but upon stepping inside Lucian discovered it to be quite an advanced technological forward base for the Tracer's. There were men busily checking monitors and writing down measurments and observations.
Lucian stepped over to one of the larger monitors which displayed a home with several gauges and indicators around the picture, "The target's home?" Lucian asked, stepping up next to the man sitting at the console. The man looked up and nodded and Lucian crossed his arms over his chest, staring, "So ordinary...something about this does not seem right at all..." he said to himself watching the monitors carefully.

There was a strange man that came into the room after the other two students entered. She smiled at all of them though the blind man couldn't see he still deserved the courtesy. She kicked her feet happily and hummed a happy song as the man began to explain what they were here for. She smiled at the neato burrito little map the suddenly appeated. It was like magic!
He began to explain how this was gonna work. How this elemental thinga ma gig was out there and how it had done some neato things before disappearing. And when the Tracey peep arrived to take everyones memories one man still had his. And that was kinda weird if you thought about it for a minute. One normal human being membered it but he wasn't anything special.. he was normal. She wondered if maybe the elemental had taken human form or something snaztastic like that but probably not as the blind man said he was normal.
And so the door opened and they were supposed to go out into this blue swirly vortexy thing and end up just outside the town. Well aint that swell. Hehe I sound like a Texan! And so the weird demony guy with the REALLY COOL HAND went through and then the man with all the cool inking going on and he was apparently named Lucian.
She didn't just walk through the portal no no. She ran through and Ta Da! on the other side pose and all as she giggled. Keiko was a rather happy girl. She saw Lucian go in but demon man didn't do anything. Afraid? Hell no. Keiko didn't scare of people.
"come on lets stick together!" she said happily as she tugged on Mr. Demon's hand but didn't let go as she was totally aiming to take him to the gas station. "You and I can be buddies, I'm Keiko by the way, Keiko Nihara and you're my mission buddy how about that?!"

As Raiden stepped out of the warp hole, grabbed his stomach. Being zoomed through a warp hole for the first time ever was the most gut wrenching feeling he ever felt. He stood up and looked around the landscape. He remembered that they were to reach the Gas Station after the warp here. Raiden scratched his head and looked around, but he had no idea what a gas station even was. For the most parts…Raiden had no idea what most thing where.
He’s only been awake now for a month since he’s been release from his imprisonment in Japan. Just about 400 years of slumber, after awhile he glanced up to see Lucian walking towards some kind of building. Raiden’s head tilted to the side as he watched the guy walk over to the building. ‘Is that the gas station?’ he said. Raiden wasn’t sure or not if it was. Just then, he felt someone tug his hand.
"Come on lets stick together!"
Raiden glanced over to see the woman who was also in the briefing room smiling up at him. ‘Eh?’ he said bewildered. She was holding his hand…Raiden froze for a few seconds.
"You and I can be buddies, I'm Keiko by the way, Keiko Nihara and you're my mission buddy how about that?!"
Raiden’s cheeks turned red, as he looked away trying not to look nervous. “Well, er…um…yes ma’am,” he said in a semi-polite voice, “My name is Raiden Matsutani,” he said with a half smile.

"Indeed" The Tracer said in response to Lucian "All of this is a bit peculiar. It may come with the job, but everything we Tracers see... We begin to question it. I suppose Paranoia is part of the job. Regardless..."
With that, the Tracer stood up from his seat, looking at the three students while a cadre of Tracers rushed back and froth behind the man.
"What I want you guys to do" The Tracer began "Is to make way to Mr. Rote's house. He is currently located 10 miles from this Gas Station to the end of the town, his house being the border to the backwoods. Along the way, I also request you talk to a few towns folk to see if they noticed anything....Interesting or unsettling of Mr Rote. These pieces of info may gives us a clearer idea of why Silabus will not have his mind touched."
With that, the Tracer handed each of the students a small map of the town, with the man's house checked off in red ink. He also handed the three students a small phone of some sort.
"Call that if you need to. Now then, please be off"
Objective: Head to Silabus' House
Optional Objective: Question Towns Folk

Keiko giggled at the blush. He was SO CUTE!! No one blushed quite like he did and he didn't take his hand away so what did that mean? Why it meant.. it was........ Magical Mission Holdy Handy Time! She closed her hand gently over his and looked up at him still smiling as happy as could be as he told her his name.
"You're so cute!" she said with a giggle. She wasn't one for modesty. If she thought you were cute she would tell you if she thought you were gonna take her out on a date.. or wanted to go she'd tell ya. She wasn't afraid to be herself though it got on peoples nerves just how energetic she was.
"Raiden is a nice name. Keiko is sooo normal I should have had a snazzified name like Sheera or Mobobeetu. But instead I got Keiko but at least you get a neat name." she said happily.
"Wanna go into the gas station with me? That's where the other guy went and we should go too huh? Because we don't wanna miss out of important stuff! Let's go buddy!" she said happily. She tugged on his hand gently in the direction of the gas station
((ooc: Yes Raiden you can God Keiko walking with you to the gas station should you chose to go in there!!))

OCC: Okay, cool. I like your character, she's pretty funny! ;D
"You're so cute!"
Raiden's face turned red as Keiko was smiling and giggling at Raiden's blush. Raiden didn't take his hand away, because he didn't want to seem impolite or rude. He glanced back over at Keiko again and was sort of bewildered by her engectic nature. He's never been around someone who seemed so happy, it was kind of strange to him. There was a huge contrast in nature between the two of them. Raiden is not exactly the guy who likes to speak up or say very many words. It was hard as it is talking to girls let alone hold a girl's hand.
"Raiden is a nice name. Keiko is sooo normal I should have had a snazzified name like Sheera or Mobobeetu. But instead I got Keiko but at least you get a neat name."
Raiden nodded and said, "Thanks, Raiden is a nice name. I like you name too..." Raiden looked in the direction of the gas station which she had pointed towards. "So...that's the gas station..." he said in a low voice. Raiden without a second thought smiled slightly at Keiko and then started walking towards the gas station with her.
They reached the gas station to find Lucian there already. The guy seemed extremely intrested in the business of Tracers. For the most parts...Raiden didn't even know what a Tracer was. Raiden listened in as the Tracer informed the three of them of what to do.
After that Raiden looked at Keiko and Lucian."Ready?" he said. He walked out of the gas station with Keiko's hand still in his. Raiden looked at the strange looking device he received from the Tracer. *the phone* He glanced over at Keiko and said,"What's this?" he said while walking along.

((OOC: Well thank you very much. I like Raiden too. They're so opposite it's great they fit together well))
Keiko blushed. Why!? Because he said he liked her name, that's why. Did they stop holding hands? Hell no they didn't. They were super mega cool ultra special mission buddies. Not everyone could be a SMCUSMB (reference above for definition) you had to be someone special like Raiden here. He was special!! Yay for special buddies! Yay for Raiden!
Swinging hands happily they went over to the gas station and went in. Keiko had not let go of his hand and she really didn't wanna. Because he was nice, his hand was warm, it was cold, and he was cute. She hummed happily next to Raiden as the Tracer peep began telling them everything that was going on and where they needed to go.
10 MILES!!
Well at least she'd have her SMCUSMB along for the ride and she would most likely talk his ear off on the way. But he seemed nice enough and he hadn't run from her yet. She'd probably chase him anyway just to tackle and hug him happily. You had to get used to Keiko. People tended to either like her or find her annoying she had yet to meet someone that all out hated her. They were handed a phone and she smiled and waved at the Tracer peep before they headed back outside.
They were still holding hands as Raiden asked her what the phone was. She giggled and smiled up at him.
"Well I'll tell ya then!" she said happil as she stopped them from walking. She pulled out her own pink light up cell phone and smiled. She dialed her number into the one that Raiden had and then pressed send. "Hold it up to your ear." she said excitedly.
When he did and with her hand still in his her phone would ring. She would answer it with a happy 'Hello Raiden!!!' and then giggle as she looked up at him and closed her cell phone ending the call.
"It allows people to talk to each other no matter where you are. Like I could call my mom all the way in Japan, or you could call your buddy back at school. Anything. It allows you to talk to people that live in whole other places. It's kinda neat huh?" she asked happily as she pressed the end button on his phone and squeezed his hand gently.

Lucian listened intently as the Tracer that he had been conversing with stood up and explained their current objective. He looked back at his two teammates and watched them leave hand in hand. The girl seemed to be very friendly and was helping out Raiden. The boy seemed to be out of place in this current time Lucian wondered if maybe he had been frozen in time or something. That or he was some sort of supernatural being, that would explain the talon and the strange confused behavior around technology. It was not that Lucian cared all that much, the Academy seemed to attract all types, he was just interested in answering the questions that Raiden left him with.
He'd also be happy to answer the questions that this mission was leaving him with. He nodded at the Tracer who had revealed their objectives and left the gas station, catching up with his teammates as they walked down the road towards town. Lucian went over his map quickly, making a mark at the location most relative to their current position.
"Well do you want to split up? Keiko, you seem rather comfortable with Raiden, how does it sound if you two go ask questions about this Silas fellow and I'll go investigate his house?" he offered as they made their way into town. He was merely offering an easier way to complete their mission. This was they could get both objectives done at the same time without sacrificing time to do one and then the other.

Raiden's question of the phone still lingered in the air as he asked Keiko what it was. She stopped then from walking. She happily decided to show Raiden how to work a phone. He watched as she press some buttons on he own phone. It was a strange thing to watch, Raiden never seen anything like that. He heard the buttons make sounds as they where pressed. "Does this thing make music?" he said in a sincere voice.
"Hold it up to your ear."
Raiden not expecting to know what happens next placed the phone next to his ear. Suddenly he felt it vibrate and ring making strange noises. Raiden held it away from his ear right quick alittle shocked, but then put it back to his ear as Keiko suggested. Next thing he heard was a loud voice coming out of some holes in the phone saying...
'Hello Raiden!!!'
"Wha-What?" he said confused as the sound of Keiko's voice through the phone.
"It allows people to talk to each other no matter where you are. Like I could call my mom all the way in Japan, or you could call your buddy back at school. Anything. It allows you to talk to people that live in whole other places. It's kinda neat huh?"
Raiden's head tilted to the side as he took in all the useful information Keiko was teaching him. For the most parts now, Raiden was glad to have met her. She was like a guide for him now. Raiden did his usual half smiled and said,"Thank you Keiko." As they were walking Raiden noticed Lucian turn and face him and Keiko.
"Well do you want to split up? Keiko, you seem rather comfortable with Raiden, how does it sound if you two go ask questions about this Silas fellow and I'll go investigate his house?"
Raiden listened to Lucian's question and pondered on what to do. "Umm..." he said in a low pitched voice, but stopped himself to let Keiko answer instead. Lucian's question was geared towards he and he didn't want to speak out over her.
