Jyo looked at the wolf who had come in. Such things were not rare here but they were interesting. One of his eyebrows went up hearing Scith call it by name.
"Zaro. Se he's your pet or friend. Whatever you wish to call him." Jyo said slightly more interested as he could sense some magic with his underdeveloped magic detection skills.

"Yea... you could call him that, hes a nuisance though sometimes."
The animal rose a hand up to his muzzle and ran it over it before clawing at Scith in the same manner.
"Alright alright, I am kidding, sheesh. Anyways, I rose him from a pup, but he isnt exactly your normal wolf."
He looked over at him once more and he saw the little moocher sticking his head up sniffing at the tray of food he had gotten. He pushed his nose away and said that it was his and the wolf just bared its teeth before laying down.
"Yea yea, your bark is worse then your bite. "

"Belive me I know all about animals that are not 'normal' so to speak." Jyo said abesent mindedly fingering the collar around his arm for a second.
"Remind me to introduce you to Ember sometime. He's not fond of humans for the most part but i cna garentee he'll be civil." Jyo said with a sign of slight amusment. Ember was as un-normal as a wolf could get.
They ate in silence for a few minutes before Jyo spoke up.
"So what were you doing before coming to the academy. You're not old but also not young enough to have been doing nothing." He said then he took a bite of the spaghetti he ahd gotten for lunch.

"Well.. me and Zaro here were what you could call a fighter for hire.. we werent exactly to skilled yet, but we managed enough to handle the smaller thugs and gangs that hung around our town.. come to think of it, our first mission we had to disable a group of thugs that had been harassing our local Chinese Resturaunt.. its funny as well.. they saw Zaro and took off running."
He shook his head once more and reached down, giving the dog a piece of the large boneless chicken he had gotten, it perked its head up and took it, and afterwhich he scratched the top of its head and moved back up straight.

"Must have not been a dull life if anything else." Jyo said and ate a bit more before answering.
"As for myself. I grew up in the Academy learning some elemental magic pluse some other spells. I have also trained with a sword. Thats almost been my entire life so far. Spellcasting and swordsmanship. Only went on my first mission for the academy last week." He said remembering the odd mission. It had made a change in him. But he gained alot from it.
"Granted that even if I didn't have much else but magic and training in my life it never got dull due to such a vast amount of variety in each aspect in my life." He added.

"Sounds alot more fun then what I had to do, but as I said, I cannot use magic... oh.. right, I didnt tell you why did I?"
He reached down to his belt and pulled up that sword hilt, setting it down on the table, it had no blade to it.. yet.
"This is.. Blood Reaver. It was passed down through my family line. Most people call it a trinket, because they have no idea that that little hilt can turn into a rather impressive blade at its maximum power. However, it also drains the user of is magical energy, and until I learn to control its stronger levels I will never be able to use any magic.. the benefit however.. is it also blocks basic magic from others that are at my level or a little higher. A safe guard which comes at the price of having to heal at the normal rate a human would, as well as only being able to defend myself with Zaro and my blade."
He shrugged his shoulders.

Jyo leaned forward very interested and listend as Scith explained about the weapon.
"I've read about such weapons. But I have never seen one. They are very interesting. Each one is unique. This could be a very useful weapon indeed. Interesting that a magic weapon would be something that could block some magic. That takes a bit of work to get down right." He said and then leaned back. As his sword was horazontally sheathed at the small of his back he didn't have to stand to unsheath the the weapon.
He brought it out the longsword and placed it next to Scith's
"Granted mine isn't magical but this is my weapon. Cryogenically tempered for longlivity. It's a sturdy reliable weapon." He said. The longsword had a strange gleam to it from the special tempering of the blade. it had a simple yet elegant and practical design to it as well.
"It's name is Raion Tsume. Or Lion's Claw." He said.

" I see. Yes. Lions Claw then? A nice name. Of course.. I dont like Blood Reaver myself, but it had been pushed to the blade due to its.. unique luster once it reaches the last level. The last level of the blade requires a sacraficed life.. which is also why it is not exactly. EASY to reach the last level, as that life is one of a loved one. Its extremely powerful.. but with all things that are, comes a flaw."
He shook his head slightly and shrugged, slipping that hilt back to his belt and taking a bite of one of the tacos he had grabbed, swallowing it down and licking his lips free of any remains.

"Interesting meathod to attain such a level." Jyo said sheathing his own weapon now.
"I personally would rather not attain such a level of power with it if that isthe price." He said.
"But as I stated thats my own personal view." He added. Not sure how to really keep the conversation going. The fact about Scith's weapon didn't really bring him down in his mood. But it did gt him thinking about the matter

"I dont want to reach that level if that is what required either... but Zaro here has already volunteered for the process if my life is ever in danger and there is no other way out.. of course, between me and you, I dont think I could even do it then."
He laughed slightly and shook his head, hand coming down to scratch behind Zaro's ears.
"After all, to lose my best friend after all that time, wouldnt be worth living after that."
He smiled once more and shifted back, taking another bite of that taco and then finishing it off before taking a drink of water.

Jyo nodded.
"Yes I could understand such a thing. I was considering if I had to do such a thing to my family, Girlfriend or Ember. I don't think it would ever be worth it really." He said with a bit more of a serious tone for a moment and then gave a smile.
"But hey. thats not a decision you need to make now so my own advice is to just not let it bother you until the time comes if it ever does." he said trying to not just dismiss the matter. But also not wanting to linger on it as he was sure Scith probebly did that enough on his own and didn't need another person added to it to bug him about it.

"Thats just it though.. its always been just me and Zaro since I was young, but I find myself considering few occasions in which I should take it to that next level.. when there are many others involved so that I need to do so.. never however. Will I do such an atrocious thing just to save my own hide, it would not be worth it. "
He shrugged his shoulders and Zaro moved laying his head in Sciths lap. That got a smile and he merely reached down running a hand through its coat.
"He understands that as well.. which is the only reason he has ever agreed to do so.. he would want to save me, but I couldnt, only when others are involved. "

Jyo nodded.
"Undestandable. i can see where tat could make things even harder." He said wondering if this might be a reason the investigators sought out Scith. Such magic items were normally catologed. Mabey Scith's training in the arts here would help him out.
"So you say the sword has been in your family for a while right? Do you know how long it's been being passed down?" he asked.

"Hmm.. lets see.. my father told me this.. I believe it was descended all the way down from Baron Von Kaines, or as my father told me his true name was Akari Seto Kaines. Supposedly he was from some egyptian background, but had been welcomed into the german society due to his wealth.. the sword he held was said to have been given to him from a man shrowded in a cloak, whoms name Akari was not given. Giving him only the words. " Use it well, for as time passes shall its power grow... but at a price my friend.. at a price.." and then promptly disappeared. There was more as to its origins, but i havent looked over the texts in a long long while.. after all, I left home when I was only 10.. to live in a foster home while my mother and father ventured across the old lands in search of the rest of the texts.."
He rolled his shoulders slightly after having spoken of his tale, looking over at Jyo once more.

"Interesting indeed. Mabey there are some things to be found in the library here at some point. It has about any book or text a person could look for. But that doen't mean alot as a weapon like your's isn't common." He said thinking he would like to be able learn more about this weapon and be able to help out Scith if he was truly interested as t the weapons origns.
