Ziare walked outside into the bright sunlight of the day. It was beautiful out and she just wanted a day to lay back and relax. It was stuffy in her dorm room and she longed for rays of sunshine and the green grass of home. But the courtyard of the Academy was what she was going to have to work with. She wore her light colored blue jeans and a pink spaghetti strap tank top. Her pale skin would not burn never had and so she let it show today. She had her hip length platinum blonde hair hanging down.
Ziare stepped towards the outer edges of the courtyard so she wouldn't be in the way and she lay down in the grass and closed her eyes momentarily. She pulled the sunglasses out of her pocket to cover her crystaline blue eyes and then she opened them again. She looked up watching the clouds go by above the academy something she used to do as a child back home in Rosewood. She let out a contented sigh and putting her arms behind her head settled in for a long restful stay.

Nathan stepped into the courtyard, doing something nobody else did; read while walking. It was sort of a dangerous pastime, since people tended to not look where they were going when they were looking at little tiny words. But Fahrenheit 451 was just too good to put down just because he was walking around. No, he was just going to stick it out and who cared if they got a little bump. It wasn't like Nathan was big guy. In fact, he had to call himself "svelt". Soccer wasn't a big guy sport, more about finess than anything.
It just so happened to be that today, his target of destruction was a pale girl in a pink top. He couldn't catch any other detail as his body fell over and the bit of pink became all he saw in the blur of green. When he peeled his eyes off the book to get up, he got the full image of her, and gave her a little apologetic smile. "Uh... Sorry! I must have been more blind than I thought... Heh..."

Ziare hadn't seen the boy coming towards her. She had closed her eyes and had almost fallen asleep in the gentle rays of the sun when a kick to her ribs sent a boy sprawling on the ground next to her.
"Uh... Sorry! I must have been more blind than I thought... Heh..." he said as he looked up at her.
She smiled and took her sunglasses off and sat up.
"Not a problem, I tried laying over here so I wouldn't be in the way but looks like it didn't work." she said laughing. It was clear she wasn't mad or anything. Ziare was a light hearted person and she loved people.
"I'm Ziare though you can call me Zi if you'd like." she said holding out her small hand. "I don't recall having seen you before are you new?"

"Yeah, I ws trying to walk so that I wouldn't get in anyone's way..." Odd little irony there, both of them tried to keep away from people, but they ended up crashing anyway. Figures, just his luck. But that didn't mean things had to get rough. She certainly didn't seem to be too angry with him. That was always a bonus.
"Yeah... I am new. Nathan. Nice to have met you, Z." He didn't shake her hand, that wasn't his style. Instead, he gave her a not-so-high high five. His being new was kind of apparent too, since he looked at the places like they were completely new to him. Really, he had taken the tour a few times, but it was still exciting to be here. Already, he had been studying like a kid cramming before finals, and had gotten down a few spells to the level of "competent". Considering he had spent just a few weeks getting ready and had just arrived a few days ago, he had done more than okay. They hauled him here because of his innate sense of burning stuff after all.

Ziare giggled at the high five and thought it was different but effective.
"Well met Nathan. So what kind of magic do you do? I'm assuming you have some talent else you wouldn't be here." she said happily. "I love it here. I hope you do too."

"So far this place seems pretty cool. Lots of resources to use. It's a lot better than my last school. It now seems completel mundane compared to this place." He laughed a little and memorized the page number he was one. Then he folded up the book and shoved it in his vest. The glint of a small Derringer handle was barely visible. And when his vest was on the right way, the Derringer was invisible, even if you were looking for a clothing bulge.
"As for my magic... It's kinda unoriginal. I burn stuff. Fireballs, walls of flame, overheating things to the point where they melt... It's not elementalism though, from what I've been told. It's more controlled and stuff like that..."

Ziare smiled another fire user! She turned and pulled her hair over her shoulder to expose her back. On her back covering the entire area was a bright red tatoo that was of a celtic design. He couldn't see the whole thing only one other besides herself had. But he could still see that it would cover her entire back. The ink being too bright to be a tatoo it was obvious it was a bond mark.
"This is my bond with my fire summon. It showed up suddenly and then when I went home once it grew to cover my back. My fire summon is my most powerful summon and the one I can actually speak to and confide in." she told him. "I'm an elemental summoner but fire is my strongest. Armenius is part of me and I'm part of him."
She told him only too happy that she had found another fire user.
"It's great to meet another fire user. Well I mean I only have a fire spell but my summon is pretty bad if you catch my drift." she said smiling.

"Summoning elementals, eh? Huh. I don't know too much about that subject. Kind of a curse of being new. I checked out the library to get some books on what kinds of magic there were, and I can't even comprehend how long it would have taken to get those books into the library." His backpack that he had left in his dorm was filled with books, only three, but big enough to cover almost every cubic inch of the bag's space. He had heard there were some odd magic items that could remedy that situation though.
His eyes were on that bonding mark. He had nothing of the sort to show what kind of power he weilded. It sort of made him sad, because it was such a unique thing. But oh well, he could easily just burn something instead.

Ziare looked at him and let her hair fall back down her back covering her mark. She loved her mark but luckily her hair covered it because when people saw it she usually had to tell them the whole story behind it.
"Don't worry so much about being new. You'll get used to it and the teacher know lots about the different kinds of powers. I mean I would love to be able to manipulate fire like that. So cool really. Can I see what you can do? Would you mind terribly much?" She asked him clearly excited.

"My control isn't exactly top-notch, so watch out." With a nervous laugh, Nathan reached into his vest. A second later, it drew out again, with a small cartridge in between his fingers. Placing it on the ground, pointing the bullet inside away from them, he checked to make sure there wasn't anyone around to get hurt. Then, he built up a mound of dirt about ten feet away from the bullet and it's path.
Making sure theny were behind, and a bit to the side of the bullet, Nathan took a small breath. Nobody was in front, back was clear too. Stretching his arms out to the side, then in front of him, and finishing up by bringing them in a wide circle, he prepared for the first cast he had to do under somewhat dangerous conditions. He then took one heck of a deep breath and closed his eyes. Then, with a smiple snap of his fingers, the catridge's back end heated up, turning a bright glowing red. The gunpowder inside ignited, and the bullet fired. That small mound of dirt he built made a small puff of displaced dirt as the bullet tore through it. In addition, the catridge itself fired backwards, erratically flying several feet behind them.
"Well, what do you think?"

Ziare watched completely intrigiued by what she saw. Her eyes wide as she saw what had happened. It was amazing. Shooting a bullet without a firing pin how amazing.
"That was fantastic. My fire magic is of a different sort not so hands on I suppose. Armenius really does all the work I just tell him what to do. I only have one fire spell that is all mine." she told him.

"Let me guess, the summon expels fire out of it's mouth..." Nathan laughed, just out of the typicality of the way fire spells were used. Then again, he could be wrong. After all, he could lose five pounds with one of his fire spells. It had been such an odd spell that he had just had to learn it. And it helped that it was beneficial in combat as well.
"I don't have a fire-breathing spell yet. I think I have to first learn how to safely volitalize air particles, so I don't burn the inside of my mouth." Shrugging, h gave up on the subject, curious as to what would happen next.

Ziare laughed.
"Well yes actually he does breathe fire though it will be obvious when you see what he is."
With a gentle thought she summoned Armenius who towered above them easily as tall as any dragon seen in books or paintings. He was ruby red in color his stomach orange and his eyes the bright blue color of flames. He tried to look innocent as innocent as a huge dragon can look. She told him to bring his head down and he did. She hugged Armenius around the neck as she loved him very much and each time seeing him was a joy. She sat back down.
"Nathan, this is Armenius my strongest summon and my fire summon. Armenius this is Nathan." The giant dragon bowed his head slightly and looked at the boy.
She turned to Nathan.
"Don't worry unless I tell him to change he'll be completely docile and friendly. He takes his cues from me." she said.

D-D-Dragon! Nathan's eyes lit up as he looked at the massive (though not in dragon terms) dragon before him. It was huge, for a youngling, but it was certainly bigger than him. He threw caution to the wind before they were even introduced, jumping in front of the dragon's face and staring it right in the eyes. "Fire-breather huh? I'd hate to be near you when you drink too much soda!"
He laughed joyously as he finally got introduced properly. It was just to cool to act like anything other than a little excitable five-year-old. "I'm going to take another guess and say he liked sleeping in the fireplace when he was wee long." His hands spread to be about the size of his forearm. "So, how's it going little dude?" Leave it to a Pyromantic Alchemist to call a fire-breathing dragon "little".

Armenius looked over at Ziare and spoke to her mind...
Excitable isn't he Ziare? Armenius asked huffing so a warm breath came from his nose. Ziare laughed and nodded it was true but it was amazing to see someone so excited about it.
He called me little, I'll have this youngling know that I am not little as far as summons are concerned and definatly do not sleep in fire places. Armenius puffed out his chest and Ziare couldn't help but giggle.
She relayed the message to Nathan. She loved Armenius like another half of her to lose him she would be lost forever. It was different than the bond she felt with Jyo but it was similar in many ways. It was like a twin bond or brother sister bond to her.
"Calm down Armenius he's just over excited. He thinks you're cool." she said outloud.
Cool? Cool! He thinks I'm cool perhaps I should set that tree on fire and see how cool he thinks I am. That sent Ziare into another frenzy of laughs as she couldn't breath for a moment. She rarely got to talk to Armenius like this he usually was very formal and to hear him change because of Nathan was amazing.
She told Nathan again what Armenius had said still trying to catch her breath.
