She didn't even flinch as he plucked one of her feathers. She had lived through far worse pain than this at Nephilim and besides the awe of meeting one of her own kind was definatly something that she had never expected.
"I hope.. that you give me a chance. A chance to get to know you." she said softly as she looked up into his eyes and let her hand fall from his cheek.
The accelerated growing must have been painful. While he had lived for four to five years without her ever knowing she had lived her full sixteen years in torture and testing. She took his feather and put it in her hair braiding it in gently. Taking her feather from him she braided it in his own hair.
"We can take a part of each other with us no matter where we go." she said softly as she touched the feather gently and then let it hang in his hair. It almost blended in while his feather looked like a stark contrast with her own white hair.

He actually genuinely smiled softly as she started to braid the feathers into each other's hair. Now they were symbolically entwined with one another. Hadrian did not know where to go from here. He had not actually expected to find her so easily or to have to slaughter Nephilim to get to her. He sighed and shrugged a little as he stuck out his hand and shadow energy started to gather into his palm suddenly it elongated and started to take shape. Then the darkness faded away into a weapon, a scythe that he held out in front of her.
"Since we are now entwined," he said, pointing to the feather in his hair, "I felt it necessary to show you my weapon, like you I to have a weapon that is the essence of my soul," he said twirling the scythe deftly.

She smiled even brighter as he actually gave her a genuine smile this time. It was wonderful to see his face lit up like that. She sat back a little when the darkness came on his hand. It wasn't that she was afraid. No but she didn't know what kind of weapon he had and so she stayed back incase it was something she would be in the way with.
His weapon was very fitting. A scythe. Yes, she could see very easily that it was the perfect weapon for him. She smiled as she ran her hand up and down the scythe for a moment before she nodded. Her own hand was covered in the purest white light and a spear took shape. She smiled.
"And here is mine." she said softly as she looked up into his eyes. "Are you curious about anything?" she asked softly. "About me."

Hadrian watched with a faint grin as she summoned her spear. He did not know exactly why but it made him happy for some reason to finally be around her, to be around someone like himself. He knew he had not been alone but now it was different, he was actually physically in the same room as one of his kind. They didn't even have a name for themselves, that was one thing they would have to do, is come up with a name for their kind. If there were to be anymore of them they would certainly need a unifying identity because eventually, if there were enough of them, it would come down to a war between them and man. A war to prove their dominance over the human race, Hadrian could already see himself leading their kind into battle with a zealot-like roar.
He snapped out of his reverie as she asked him if he had any questions, "Well there isn't much about you that I don't already know. Except I have one question about your time at Nephilim, did they put you through pain desensitization torture regiments?" he asked, pulling his shirt down a little to show just some of the scars that riddled his chest and neck.

She reached up and touched his scar gently with her finger. She hated to see people that had gone through the pain she had. And she knew only too well what Nephilim would have put him through. Though his might have even been worse as they would have developed and refined some of the things they had done to her.
"Sixteen years of it." she said softly. "I may not have scars.. I'm unsure as to why but I do not have any. Yet, I lived through sixteen years of tests, tortures, and projects."
She touched his face gently again as she looked into his eyes. This to her was like a dream come true. To meet one of her own kind. To be able to talk about Nephilim without hearing how sorry they were. She hated the pity party crap it drove her nuts. It's not like they could do anything but she hated it when they asked questions and got 'I"m sorry' back.

He nodded, so she had gone through it. Well then why did he relish in the pain and she seemed to recoil from it. She ran from it while he embraced it and made it part of him. Maybe that was the fundamental difference between them that made them such harmonious opposites. It was their different ways of coping with the pain that made them different. While she drew into herself and hid herself from the pain, Hadrian embraced it, hugged it, kissed it, made it his.
"I think that's the main difference between us Celeste. You ran from the pain...I ran to it..." he said with an odd grin as he traced a finger along the scar on his face, "I know you didn't enjoy the survival trials...but I did, I relished seeing their faces twisted in agony as they realized that I was indeed superior and their time was up. It made me realize how much better I was...no, we are than them...than humans," he said, touching her hand gently, "We're the next step in evolution Celeste..." he said with almost a vain smirk.

It was the first time outside her wings that he had touched her and her hand turned to grasp his genly in her hand. She smiled up at him because what he said was true. She had hated the pain and the torture and it was obvious from his words, actions, and disposition that he had embraced the pain and the suffering letting it help mold him into the man he was now.
"I think that we are opposites in so many ways except our joy in finding one another. Because I just knew that I would never find anyone like me and yet here you are. I can touch you, and feel you, and talk to you. You've been through what I have and though different our back grounds are so similar. We can balance each other. Thank you for finding me."
She told him softly as her thumb ran across the back of his hand gently. She couldn't believe she had been able to meet one of her own kind. She almost wanted to think of him as brother yet if he wanted to 'breed' with her brother wasn't the right word to use.

He sighed softly as she thanked him for finding her and ran her thumb across the back of his rough and scarred hand. Hadrian didn't realize how hard his mission would be. He truly did feel conneceted to this girl that was sitting beside him. They were the only two of their kind, why should he let Nephilim turn them against one another?! Why should he let the humans toy with them and make him betray her? It was not right for him to do what his mission entailed, she was one of his kind, the only one of his kind.
"Celeste you should know, my mission was to retrieve you. I was to find you and bring you back to the Nephilim compound," he said, "But, I don't think I can...you are the only one like me..why should I let those filthy human scientists turn me against my own kind?" he asked, looking into her red eyes with his black ones.

Celeste looked up into his beautiful black eyes as she listened to what he was saying. She had figured that he would have wanted to take her back. Some how he seemed like it was going to be that. Yet, he said he didn't want to take her back. At least he didn't think so. Inwardly she sighed in relief because she didn't want to go back and forcefully would be worse.
"I think you should give the school a try. They can train us in our magic. We can become more proficient. And here we are free to get to know one another without torture and fighting." she said softly.
She couldn't help but want to be close to him in some way. Brother, friend.. anything really so long as she was able to keep in touch with one from her past. How she had longed for such a companion and yet here he was and she was happy.

Hadrian sighed and touched her hand gently. She was the only other one of his kind, a true companion. But he also felt a rising urge to run his scythe across her throat and be done with her. At the same time he could bring himself to do it. What was wrong with him, why was he unable to give into the violent urge that plagued him? He had slaughtered so many in the past, why was she any different. She was different because she was like him, Celeste was like him. The only one that was equal to him, that was why he was unable to kill her. Celeste was his only true equal in the world.
"Maybe I will, if only to watch over you. Do you realize how much more superior you are to any of the humans here?" he asked, almost spitting the word human, as he reached out softly and touched her cheek, "I don't think you realize that...they never told you how inferior mankind is to us," he said with a grin.

She had never thought this man would be capable of such a soft and loving touch yet here it was. His touch on her cheek was so gentle she couldn't help but close her eyes and nuzzle into it softly. She had not expected such a touch and it just meant that at least to her he had a softer side.
"I was not ever told anything about being superior." she said softly. "I would like you to stay. I want to grow close. For us to get to know each other. We are stronger together than apart I think."
She let her staff go it disappearing in a rush of light that disipated. She touched his cheek gently the same as he was still touching hers.
"You can stay here in my room tonight if you like. Since you don't have your own yet." she said softly offering him her bed.

He smirked a little as he pulled his hand back. His scythe still rested in his hand, he placed the blade under her chin, sharp end facing towards the floor. He lifted her head up and watched her carefully. She was so kind and trusting, too kind and too trusting. Certainly being so trusting would easily get her into trouble.
"Celeste you really shouldn't be so trusting," he said, chuckling a little, "Mankind cannot be trusted so easily, they'll try to take advatange of you because you are unique. Humans always want to destroy what they percieve as a threat to their dominion over this world. They'll try to exploit your uniqueness and you're abilities..." he said watching her carefully, the blade of the scythe glinting a little in the light.

She was shocked.. and breathed in heavily as the cold metal of his scythe went under her chin lifting up her face to talk to her. She listened of course but she was not as weak as he thought. Her hand closed over the scythe and moved it away as her eyes remained locked on his.
"No one has done anything of the sort yet. In fact I've made friends here. Ones that care and watch out for me. Seig, and Drake and even Angra. They are all very nice. You judge too quickly and do not give people the chance they deserve. Yes, the human race does like to get rid of threats however they do not see me as a threat currently. Perhaps you need to give them a chance. Not jump directly to the worse case." she said with a slight fire behind her eyes as she kept his scythe away with minimal strength.
They were right and now she knew it for sure. They balanced each other. That was what they were. Ying and Yang. Together they made a perfect team and together they would be unstopable with their powers and super human abilities. This was what Nephilim wanted. This was what they had tried and suceeded in creating. The perfect pair. Hadrian and Celeste.

He chuckled at the sudden fiery determination in her eyes and voice. Hadrian watched with a smirk as her hand closed around the blade of his scythe and started to move it away. She had friends now, human friends. The question was did they truly know who she was...what she was. It could not be that they would just accept her so easily. There was either some ulterior motive or they simply did not know who and what she was. The scythe suddenly shrunk into a small length of darkness that was sucked into his palm.
"But how can you be sure that these humans are indeed your friends? How can you know that they do not have ulterior motives, like the Nephilim Coporation. They gave you a puppy...you thought it was a present, but in the end it was only a test of your abilities and to push your limits. They made you kill the only friend you had in your time there...for their experiments. Humans will cover their motives with false kindness and frienship, be on your guard Celeste..." he said as he watched her intently.

Oh God. He had to bring up Zeig. Tears formed in her eyes as she turned from him and stood up moving to the window. That had been one of the hardest times of her life. They had given her the puppy to raise and to play with only to make her kill it later.
She wiped away a few stray tears that fell down her face and she turned back to Hadrian but did not sit down again. She leaned against the wall and looked at him.
"You can't assume every one is out to get you though. Not everyone has an agenda. Some want to know you or me because we are unique not because of our dna but because of our personalities. Because we are people we are able to get along with others and make friends." she said as she looked into his eyes directly.
