Yay School... mmm not!

[Lexandra]

She hadn't figured he would get so excited about camping but hey he was a Druid. She supposed that as Tree Hugger Extreme it would be hard to be away from the trees for a while. But that was good she supposed. To really like something that much.

"We'll have to go camping then." she said with a shrug. "I'm not adverse to a weekend in the woods. Besides I can practice my archery better there than in the range here." she said with a grin.

She stopped in mid step when he mentioned the elevator and she grabbed his hand stopping him too. Slowly she turned her gaze on him and raised her right eye brow.

"Elevator?" she asked with a smirk. "I walked up seven flights of bloody stairs and there was an elevator?"

She laughed. She shook her head and tucked her bangs behind her right ear.

"Lets, go then Woody." she said with a chuckle as she let go of his hand once more.

Xavier chuckled as she took his hand, stopping him in disbelief that they had walked seven flights of stairs when there had been an elevator the whole time. If she hadn't been so concentrated on acting like she despised him and didn't need his help he was sure she would've asked for an alternative. But it was her loss, at least this time around they didn't have to take the steps back down. He felt a small thrill run through his body as she took his hand in hers. Gah, no what was he thinking there was no way he could that way about her, she was so abrasive and rude. Though it really was a refreshing pace from normally happy people.

"Well I would've pointed it out had you asked," he said with a grin and then shook his head as she let go of his head and started off without him, "Woody...hey wait I liked Xav better," he called, jogging a little to catch up with her.

Lex laughed. She turned to wait for Xav to catch up and she looked him over. She looked at him and grinned as her hazel eyes too inventory of him.

"Hmm, fine. Xav. But.." she wagged a finger with a smirk on her face. "If you're a bad boy, it's back to Woody for you."

She laughed and continued walking down the hall. She thought about the day. She hadn't wanted to make any friends. Yet, despite herself she had and it wasn't too bad. Maybe. But he was the only one. She didn't need people and she didn't need clingy people either. She was a girl who could take care of herself and didn't depend on anyone's help.

She pushed the button on the elevator and leaned against the wall waiting. She smirked to herself. How the hell had he gotten her so soft as to accept him as a friend. Damn his persistence. She didn't need people, yet this one was atleast interesting. She loved his reactions to what she did and what she said. Made life much more interesting. And since she hated school it might be nice to have a distraction. Yeah, distraction.

"Let's go kid." she said as she stepped into the elevator.

He shook his head in mock horror and held his hands in front of his chest as if to fend off a blow that was never coming. He jokingly appeared scared as if her threat of calling him Woody again was a serious threat.

"Please don't...I'll be good I swear," he said his voice a picture of mocking horror but his voice was monotone and bored. He chuckled a little as he finished his joking with a smirk as he followd her into the elevator. Wait had she just called him a kid?! "Kid? I'm the same age as you...and probably more mature than you are," he said with a smirk, "Miss I'm too cool to ask for help or accept a friend," he said with a chuckle as Birazcir slipped in between the elevator doors just before they closed.

Birazcir let out a soft growl, "Oh I get it..the humans are getting along so the wolf gets forgotten. Next time make sure you keep the elevator doors open for me...nearly got my tail caught," he said with a soft whimper as he looked back at his tail, imagining caught in the elevator doors.

Lexi raised her eyebrows and chuckled as she leaned against the wall of the elevator. She loved the kids cheek. He made her laugh and she had to admit that it wasn't easy to do. She pressed the button for the first floor.

"Oh yes, Mister I never give up annoying as hell man." she said with a smirk as she looked over at him.

The elevator began to travel down as she looked around at the smoothe walls and the numbers slowly moving down floor by floor. She didn't really know what to say at the moment. The bell dinged and she stepped out of the elevator.

"So, oh tour guide, city or cafeteria?" she asked looking back at him.

Xavier laughed as he leaned against the opposite side of the elevator. He took the time during the elevator ride to glance over at her a few times, inspecting her phyiscal appearance. He hadn't noticed it before, probably because he was too thunderstruck by her completely rude and abrasive personality but she was actually kind of cute. in a weird sort of you can look but you can't touch way. Xavier shook his head, what the hell was he thinking she was definitely not his type. But then again there was a saying about opposites attracting.

"Where ever you want, you might like the cafeteria it's a little more convenient. Plus they can conjure you up any food you want," he said with a grin and a nod as he started out of the elevator ahead of her. Time to make her pick up the pace to follow him. He smirked as he turned on his heel halfway down the hallway and looked back at the elevator, "Well aren't you coming slowpoke?" he asked with a sly grin.

If he was under the impression that she was going to run to catch up to him he had another thing coming. She wasn't the 'oh please wait for me' kind of girl. She walked at her own pace and screw all the people that were in a hurry.

She couldn't help but think about how easy it would be to shoot him right now. Just POP and a crossbolt could easily just scratch his side. She could do it to. She was that good of a shot. But honestly, could she shoot something that cute. It wiggled. Yeah, it was safe. For now. But that didn't mean HE was safe necessarily.

"Alright, Spaz, I'm coming." she said in a monotone as she walked still at her own pace.

Man, why had she let someone get close? Would they be hurt later when they found that this was her. She might soften a little but she didn't soften much. It took the right kind of person to really get along with her. So far, Xav was doing a very good job at taking her crap but it didn't stop just because they were buddies. No, if anything he would deal with it on a more regular basis. She had a feeling that she would see him often as persistant as the little bugger was. Yet, for some reason the thought brought a true smile to her face.

She finally caught up to him at her own pace, thank you so very much. She looked over at him and smiled before she entered the cafeteria. That'll throw him off. Heh.

He watched with a chuckle as she sauntered down the hallway at her own pace. Xavier had known her for only a short amount of time but he found himself thinking how typical her action was. Of course she'll make someone run to catch up to her but god forbid she'd actually have to put some effort into catching up to someone else. He shook his head with a grin as she called him a spaz and continued down the hallway. He was fairly certain she was going slowly just to prove her point, she'd make him jump through hoops but never the other way around.

He started to go for the cafeteria door to hold it open for her. But then he hesitated, she didn't like that kind of stuff she was one of those independent types. She would take it as a personal offense if he tried to be polite and help her. He withdrew his hand and looked up to see her entering the cafeteria. Just before she disappeared behind the door she looked back, flashing him a smile. A smile?! Xavier groaned and shook his head as he followed behind her. He was never going to nail this girl down, he was starting to believe she was doing little things like that just to screw with his head.

"I'd offer to pay for the meal or get your food for you but you'd probably take Shadow there and put a bolt between my legs," he said with a chuckle as he moved towards the line of students, "You know it never hurts to let someone be polite once in a while," he said almost as an offhanded suggestion.

Lexi stepped into the cafeteria and looked around for a moment. It was rather busy but that didn't bother her as it normally would. She was at least with someone though Lexi would have normally taken her meal back to her room to eat it might not be so bad to actually let herself eat here.

She raised her brow at his comment and chuckled. The boy really was trying rather hard to get close to her. For a moment Lexi looked at him and her eyes softened. Should she let him in? But if she did would he not only get hurt? She wasn't the sweet girl she figured he would be wanting to date she was brash and brazen.

"But.." she said softly before she smirked and the old Lexi came back. "Then that would be a date, and as far as I recal you never asked me. That's rather rude dont you think?"

She looked over at him and then looked down for a sec. She wouldn't actually shoot him in the butt, as much fun as it sounded he was already too close for that. But, she might have to keep that to herself. It was always a good thing to have a threat up her sleeve.

Xavier watched Lex carefully as she started to talk, her eyes had softened a bit and her voice was softer and gentler. Finally he was getting through a little, at least putting a few cracks in the emotional wall she'd built up around herself. But they were quickly patched as the smirk returned. Xavier looked a little flustered and actually blushed a bit when she said that if he paid for the meal it would make it a date. He hadn't intended to make it seem that way, he was just trying to be polite....wasn't he? Xavier shook his head a little, this girl was definitely screwing with his head and he was starting to think it wasn't intentionally.

"No nothing like that, I merely being polite is all," he said shaking his head as if to reason with himself that that's all he had been trying to do, "Yea just being polite, I wouldn't consider it a date unless I had actually asked you if you wanted it to be a date," he said the blush fading as he regained his composure, "Just trying to be polite," he said again with a nod.

There was something strange about the boy. She just looked at him for a moment as she stared flabbergasted. She really didn't know what to think. He was just rambling about not being on a date but it was.. different than before. Almost as if he was trying to convince himself that he didn't want it to be a date.

She just couldn't help but stare at him. Blinking was almost not even an option as he finally finished rambling. For a moment silence fell on them and she just couldn't take her eyes off of him. She bit her lip as she thought about it for a moment.

"You wanted a date didn't you!?" she asked looking at him in utter shock. What had she done to get this? What had she done that had made him want a date from her. Leave it to Lexi to state the obvious.

"But.. I'm totally not your type. Right?" she asked furrowing her brow. Completely caught off guard by his actions all together. She just .. wow.

Xavier sighed and ran a hand down his face in exasperation. He was flustered and totally out his element now. He hadn't intended to let it slip so soon that he had been a little attracted to her. She was rude and abrasive and he really didn't think she was his type at all but something about it was refreshing and new. He had never before met a person like her, who wasn't afraid to tell people to shut the hell up when they were annoying. It really was intriguing and he wanted to get to know her more. He had been certain if he was actually attracted to her or not but the way he got flustered when she spoke of date pretty much confirmed it.

"I..I hadn't intended for this to be a date at all," he said honestly, "I really just wanted to get to know you, I'll admit I am a little attracted to you. I've never met anyone like you, you're rude and abrasive but at the same time you have a softer side. I've never met anyone like you before and I just wanted to get to know you," he explained as they made there way up the line to the ordering area, "I...i just...I'm not good at stuff like this," he said as he scratched the back of his head embarassedly, "So there's a um dance...a prom I think, coming up soon...maybe we could go..just as friends?" he asked meekly, a hint of hope in his eyes.

Again, the boy surprised her. She just couldn't believe it. She stopped them from getting in the line because ONE she was not talking about this amid a crowd of people probably itching for gossip and TWO because she was NOT going to talk about this here of all places.

Though the way he went about it was about as adorable as a new puppy. You just wanted to hug the boy and tell him that everything was going to be okay. WAIT A BLOODY SECOND.. HUG THE BOY!! Oh geez this was bad. This was really really really bad. She had actually NEVER in her life wanted to hug a person.

And now he was asking her to prom. She took his hand firmly in hers and led him to the most remote corner of the cafeteria. If he was hungry he had just chosen the worst time to ask her to the prom. She pushed him into the exact corner and stood there with one arm against the wall next to his head as she looked right into his eyes.

"You're asking me to prom? The place with tissue paper and frilly dresses?" she asked in an almost accusing tone.

She looked at him. The kid had nerve. She had to admit one didn't ask a girl like Lexi with a lack of balls so to speak. She looked right into his eyes. A dance. A dress. Damn she hated dresses but .. but was Xav worth frilly? No, but was he worth a dress? Just maybe.

"Well, I'm sure as hell not getting frilly for just a friendly outing. So, either this is a full fledged date, or no dice." she said looking at him her eyes softened a little as she was now the one that was vulnerable, yet she didn't let on too much. If he said no, then she would go back to pestering him and maybe she'd crash the prom. She'd have to wait and see.

Xavier's eyes went wide as he felt her hand clutch his and start dragging him out of line. Oh hell, what had he gotten himself into. He didn't mean to offend her or anything he was merely trying to be honest. Xavier was attracted to her, whether he wanted to admit it or not. She was attractive, physically...very and personality wise she was completely different from anyone he had ever met. She was almost exotic in that sense, just such a total and complete opposite from his personality. Maybe that was what initially had attracted him to her, was the fact that she was just so different from him.

Xavier's eyes were still wide and there was a faint blush on his cheeks as she pushed him against the wall. Her hand was pressed against the wall by his head. God it felt like he was being interrogated or having his lunch money stolen. If she was like this now...what on earth would she be like at the prom? The thought made Xavier grin despite the nervousness and fluster he felt right now.

He nodded gently as she spoke, "Alright well then I'm asking you on a date then," he said with a nervous grin, "You don't have to get a frilly dress if you don't want to though..." he said with a soft gulp, "Simple's fine with me..." he said meekly but with a smile.

So in the end he did want it to be a date. She almost smiled at the triumph. She had thought so and now he had just proven her right. A smile crossed her face. She saw how nervous he was and she softened her hand going to his cheek no longer leaning against the wall.

"Hey, I may be rude and abrasive but I'm not going to beat you up or anything." she chuckled as her hazel eyes danced for a moment.

On impulse she leaned in and pressed her lips gently against his. Kissing him softly her hand still on his cheek as she did so. It wasn't a long kiss only a few moments passed before she broke it and pulled back again she winked at him. A slight, almost unseen pink blush on her pale cheeks.

"It's a date then, but don't be late." she said with a grin and took his hand in hers and instead of dragging she walked back to the line with him slowly and next to him.
