Yay School... mmm not!

Xavier smiled softly as he felt her hand on his cheek. So she did have a soft side, he knew she couldn't be that rude and cold all the time. There had to be a time when she let the walls down and acted at least somewhat kindly. Apparently he had instigated that time and he smiled as she told him that she wasn't going to beat up or anything. He laughed a little, the nervousness was starting to go away. he had tempted fate and asked Lex to the prom and had not ended up with a bolt from Shadow between his eyes.

"I didn't actually expect you to beat me up, just but a bolt in my ass," he said with a chuckle. His eyes went wide as she leaned in for a kiss. It wasn't a long one but it did leave him with a grin on his face. He certainly hadn't been expecting that from her, this girl definitely knew how to keep him on his toes. Everytime he thought he'd figured her out she pulled another trick out on him. She certainly was going to be a handful, but Xavier had a saying that a reward not worth working for wasn't worth having.

"Late...me?!" he asked with a jokingly incredulous look on his face as she took his hand and they started walking back towards the line, "I wouldn't dare think of being late...especially not when I know you're more than capable of sticking me with an arrow from one of your bows or a bolt from Shadow," he said with a grin, "I wouldn't want to go to the prom with an arrow sticking out of me," he said laughing and squeezing her hand gently.

So it seemed that she had indeed made a friend and not just that but now she had a date to prom. Something she never thought of herself as attending. Yet, the prospect some how excited her deep down though her face showed nothing at all. She wasn't a giddy school girl so there was no way she was going to be bubbly and cheerful getting in groups with other girls to go pick out a dress.

"Now, that this is done with, what are you going to eat?"

They were now back in the line to get food her hand still holding his as she looked around. Her hazel eyes only now really looking over the room. It was nice, she guessed, to have a friend but she wasn't going to hug him or anything. She .. yeah she probably would but it would be on her terms damnit.

Xavier was grinning from ear to ear now. He had accomplished that which he had previously thought impossible. Xavier had not only been able to get Lex to show him his softer side but he had been able to ask her to the prom without getting shot at. Not only ask her, but he had gotten a yes! Xavier was still suprised that she had said yes. She had even kissed him, though he had only known her for a short time this was ridiculously uncharacteristic of her.

He couldn't help but chuckle as they stood in line hand in hand, "I definitely didn't think you'd say yes," he said with a grateful grin, "As for what I'm going to eat...we agreed on cheeseburgers didn't we?" he asked as they shuffled forward a little bit as the line started moving again.

Lexi was still holding Xav's hand but for now she didn't mind. Screw all the people staring at them in the cafeteria they could all go to hell, may their hamburgers burn!! She wasn't the clingy type though and he would find that out. Holding hands was about as lucky as he was going to get and he just got to deal with it.

"Right, cheeseburgers." she said with a grin as squeezed his hand gently.

She leaned against Xav slightly only her hip up touching him and it was light. She didn't put her full weight on him nor would she. She just leaned against him slightly as she looked down at their hands her bangs falling in the way. She looked back up and shook her bangs out of the way so she could see again.

"Hey does Biz get anything or do you make him hunt on his own?" she asked looking over at Xav.

Xavier grinned and noticed the look on her face as she saw people who had gotten their food and were moving to sit staring at them. Xavier didn't really mind at all and gave them a friendly smile. He knew, though, that she probably wouldn't be one for all sorts of touchy-feely stuff, especially not in public. Xavier really didn't feel like finding out what Shadow's sting felt like so he felt it best to restrain himself for now. Although she had caught him off-guard a couple of times, maybe he should do something to throw her off her guard.

"Nah Biz hunts for his own food. He would probably think it an affront to his hunting abilities to be handed food on a platter," Xavier said with a chuckle, "In fact," he said, closing his eyes and opening up the mental link he and Biz shared, "He's hunting as we speak," Xavier said, opening his eyes again.

The line shuffled forward again and Xavier ordered for both Lex and himself, paying for both their meals as well. He smirked as he led her back to the table where he started to eat, "Enjoying the free lunch?" he asked, looking up with a grin.
