Tristan walked out into the Training Grounds. He was getting used to the layout of Babylos, but he prefered this place more than others. Igneus was sitting on his right shoulder, watching for any bugs to snatch up. The hunter was fully armed as always, the sun was shining as always, a pretty normal day. Being how high in the sky Babylos was, there was never a cloudy day.
How the foliage and every thing was maintained with no rain you ask? Magic. Despite some humidity, things were maintained by some sort of magical energy source that not many ever got a chance to look at. Tristan sat down on a large rock, having maneuvered around it for his sword, and looked at the mound of dirt that had held a massive, half assed summoning worm in it a few days prior. The grass hadn't regrown yet, but some one or something had filled it back up.
[You do that?] He asked his dragon. Do I look like I'd care enough to?...I just carried your sorry ass outa here. Was the responce. The six foot three hunter chuckled at that and looked around. He was waiting for something, and that something would come along soon.

"Hello there."
Nanashi was behind Tristan, and had just come in the way that Tristan had. Most people wouldn't have been aware that Nanashi was there, and would be quite surprised by his sudden appearance.
Nanashi was looking quite casual, feet slightly more that shoulder width apart, and arms crossed. His sword was hanging at his side, the second handguard looking quite out of place.
"I haven't seen you here before. Are you new?"
OOC: Sorry for the short post...
And "...Not"?

Tristan looked over his shoulder and Igneus turned around. His right eye scanned the boy rather lazily considering the angle he had to work with. The hunter stood back to his full height, his sword scraped along the rock as he did so. He turned to face the boy, his eye running back over him, picking up any missed details.
"Yea, I am...Just registered the other day." He answered in his deep voice. Tristan towered over this boy who was about the same height as Roy, Tristan's first encounter on these grounds. There was probably still blood on the grass from that fight. "You can call me Knight." He said, walking around the boulder and extending a gauntleted hand to the young man.

OOC: Oh, come on... It's only the swords, your shapeshifting gauntlets, handguns and possibly sniper rifle, as well as my scrolls and our elementalism... And the dragon...
IC: Knight, was it? Obviously a nickname. Also, 'Knight' happened to be a giant, standing almost half a foot above Nanashi's head. Now that he was standing up, that's exactly where Nanasi had to look (up).
"Kinkatsu Nanashi. Pleased to meet you, Knight."
Nanashi nodded slightly, sort of a makeshift bow, careful not to take his eyes off Knight. Nanashi had only just met him and didn't exactly trust someone he had just met, and it was easy to immagine someone like Knight crushing you like a bug. Rather nerve-wracking, to say the least.
OOC: Short post again...

"Like wise." Tristan said, subtly aware of this Kintatsu's caution. He was a fearsome looking figure: Height, Thick armored hands, Gaunt face with the added effect of the sunglasses, His voice, The sword, and the occasional peek at his hand-guns when his coat revealed them somehow. He looked around a bit and Igneus kept his beedy little eyes locked on the young man. Is he actually afraid of you? Igneus asked spitefully. [Maybe...Probably just being cautious.] Tristan replied with his mind.
"Well while we're on the training grounds, care to go?" The hunter asked, taking a step back. Being on the training grounds meant that you should be ready to fight, whether you were looking for a fight or not.

Well, this was awkward. NANASHI was usually the challenger.
"It is what people do in the training grounds."
Nanashi drew his sword, and assumed a horse stance facing sideways in a horse stance, pointing his sword straight at Tristan, and placing his left hand inside his robe with his scrolls. He never took his eyes off the giant. He had openly proclaimed a fight, one Nanashi hoped not to loose.
When Nanashi did not move, Knight would no doubt assume that he was expected to strike first. If he didn't, it would be a standoff until he did. Nanashi always started on the defensive, unless he had challenged. The challenger always struck first.

[Starting off with blades huh?...Very well] Tristan jerked his head to the right and Igneus took off to a perch to watch the match. The hunter clapped his hands together with a metallic clank The backs of the armored gloves began to glow a light blue hue. Tristan pulled his hands appart slowly as though drawing a dagger, and in a sense, he was drawing two.
The backs of the titanium fittings began to extened into a pair of fourteen inch blades, as sharp as can be and as hard as the rest of the material. Tristan took a light stance, but seeing the boy didn't have an intention on being the first to attack, rushed in. He wasn't moving at top speed, only enough for an opener. Both hands in tight fists, the right up by his jaw, the left turned in a sort of chambered fist only it was down by the hip. He came in quickly and would put out a feint stab with his right to distract the guard of the sword.
If the sword went to attack in a preemptive strike, The right hand would come back to flick the blade aside and a left upper cut slash would head across Kinkatsu's chest. If the sword did nothing, Tristan would flick his left hand out to swipe aside the blade, and the feinting right would pursue a stab to the base of the shoulder.

Well, a direct charge. It seemed that Nanashi's foes weren't exactly on the creative side these days. Nanashi's left hand revealed itself, this time bearing a scroll. The scroll was then unrolled, placed on the ground, and activated.
"Earth."
The result would be a solid stone wall right in Knight's face. At hight speeds, it would be rather hard to avoid running into it headlong, the avoidance of which would require an instantaneous stop. Seeing as Knight wasn't exactly on the light side, inertia would be against him, resulting in a rather humiliating situation for him.

"Oh shit." He said as the wall of rock rose infront of him. Reverting to his Ninjutsu training, Tristan charged right into the wall and began to run straight up it. His thick boots clung well enough to the stone to propell him straight up to the top. Tristan gripped the top edge despite the blades, and pulled him self up ontop of it.
"Sneaky basterd." Were the words that echoed down to Nanashi, a few meters below. He would wait to see what the young man would do next before deciding whether or not to jump off the stone pillareque wall.

Nanashi didn't even bother to reply. Just move on to the next attack. Slightly mysterious how Knight had managed to scale the wall in such a short time, but it was of little importance. What was important is that he did, and was now on top of it. That meant long range.
Nanashi reacher for another scroll and repeated the exact same motion, only this time with a different word.
"Wind."
The result would be exactly what it sounded like: A gust of wind aimed at Knight. It was fairly simple, and would effectively get Knight to fall off the wall. It was high enough that, if he landed wrong, he could easily break something. Seeing as it was not a... planned fall, the possibility was overwhelming.

Tristan saw the motion and heard the word, barely. The wind came strong and feirce. It was too fast for Tristan to blow a ball of flame to cancel it unfortunately and was hit full force. He blocked it as best he could with his arms, but it knocked him over any way.
It was the most curious sensation, not like flight at all. It wasn't propelled by his own power, nor Igneus'. Fortunetly for Tristan, he weight enough that he wasn't blown far, and was close enough to the stone pillar to kick off of it, giving him enough back ward momentum to land more lightly then he would have coming straight down. "Shit...That hurt." Tristan said, getting back to his feet. He brushed himself off and bolted out around the pillar.
Tristan's approach would be un expected, coming right around the rock wall like that. A left hook with the bladed fist would be the first move. It would be followed by a right jab. What ever hand wasn't striking was up enough to block the sword.

Coming around the wall, though Knight might think was unpredictable, was, sadly, exactly what Nanashi had expected second to him not coming around at all. Third had been over the wall. Regardless, it seemed that Knight was a close range fighter, so the trick was to keep a distance and attack with ranged attacks.
So, to go through the list of scrolls. Fire? To extreme for the circumstances. Water? Defensive. Earth? Defensive, and already used. Wind? Already used. Metal? Defensive. That left wood. Not exactly an "attack", but it was ranged and it would work. Hopefully.
Nanashi took out yet another scroll, and once again repeated the motion of laying it on the ground unrolled, and saying the word, this time...
"Wood."
Several thick root look-alikes sprung out of the ground, right where Knight would be when they were ready to grip him. And grip him they would, if they were given the chance.

Tristan saw the motion once again. This time the word was wood. The hunter glanced about, slowing down, until he saw the roots begin to shoot from the ground. "Shit." He said jumping straight up. He angled himself down ward with what little wind element he knew and inhaled deeply. When Tristan exhaled, the roots where almost up to his level. Unfortunately for Kinkatsu Fire was Tristan's strongest element.
A massive fire blast shot from Tristan's mouth in a steady stream and roasted the roots below. Most if not all of the roots would be reduced to ashes. Those that escaped incineration would be chopped to bits by Tristan's gauntlets. The hunter landed near the rock wall and thought for a moment. He himself would have used stone again, or earth what ever. Then he would have tried to blow his opponent of that rock once again.
Sure it would be repitition but it was effective. With that in mind, Tristan came to a conclusion: This Kinkatsu must not be able to use the same spell twice. As lame as that sounded, it would explain why he didn't use that earth and air combo again. Now it wasnt a rock solid explanation, as the boy could have just wanted to use wood. But if that was the case, this was going to get very easy, very soon.
Tristan rushed back at Kinkatsu, hoping to lead out another scroll spell. If the young man let Tristan come in, he would be in that same running stance and throw a simple stabbing one two. Right then Left.

It wasn't true that Nanashi couldn't use the same spell twice, he just didn't like to. He wanted to keep his opponents guessing what he was going to do next. Anyways, Knight was charging... AGAIN. So he was asking to be attacked from a distance, again.
"Earth part two."
The wall that had been created earlier began to crack, then broke into around five pieces. Those five pieces then flew in Knight's general direction.
Knight had evaided wood, wind, and the initial earth. Let's see how he responded to a second earth attack...

If it was true that he could only use each spell once, Kinkatsu would run out of spells some time. If that wasn't the case, he would run out of energy with the frequency of the spells he was using...eventually. Tristan charged in but heard the huge pillar crack. The rock is following...Five peices. Igneus offered blankly. [Got it.] Tristan responded and kept rushing forward.
He cast a sideways glance at the huge chunks of stone. He was moving faster then they were, barely. He went full force right at Nanashi. Coming in close, he would kick off hard and fly clear over the young man, out of reach of the sword. Hopefully the rocks would fly right into their controller. Given the speed they were moving there was a good chance of that.
If that wasn't going to happen, Tristan would just have to avoid them in between attacking Nanashi.
