Well, Followers of Dreams was orrigionaly intended to be a counter-orginization to The Cleaners, so I could factor Roy's "Second Sight" into things, and have him observing from a distance.........

Right. Forum teams just give members something to do. There are newer members that don't see much activity. This gives newer members an opportunity to fit in right from the start. It also gives veteran members a fun challenge if they don't join a team. If a veteran member does join a team, that member could be what makes the team worth joining. So what if members play favoritism? You'd do it anyway without teams. -=}N{=-I'd like to point out that I do not do freaking do favoritism since the whole practice just outright disgusts me. The whole thing to teams and gangs is just freaking pointless there are too many gaps that will just fundamentally ruin this site. It turns the opening challenges of getting out there and roleplaying and doing the work of meeting people into nothing more then a moment of... Oh I'll join this group 'cause they strong LOLZ. That's basically what's being put up. That's bascially how it's going to break down. The whole damn thing reeks of sociological impacts where the single person gets screwed by the masses period. Even if you say you are monitoring it the process of the sociology will spawn more teams based on a fear factor because the soloers and or veterans will feel intimidated by these 'teams'. The inactivity of the newer members no offense but, all they need to do is look for open threads and post. Or create new threads. This is ruining the whole challenging aspects to roleplaying and a good number of the more intriguing aspects that originally attracted me to AA. A system that was simplistic yet immediately showed a number of challenges. Simple and unmolested by too many bad ideas. This is one of them.

You know, I'm actually thinking that the idea of teams might detract from the setting. The gangs worked setting-wise for 552 because it was supposed to be this school of misfits and bullies and the like. However, in such a nice school as Arcane is supposed to be, it would just be out of place for teams to be created or accepted. Well, that's just my two cents.

Look, Lance, it only get that bad if everyone joins teams. Not everyone is going to join a team. We'll have missions just for certain teams to join, and we'll have missions for players that aren't on teams (as well as mixed where affiliation or no affiliation won't matter). I'm trying to help you guys, ok? I'm exactly going to tell you what I'm helping you with, but the next event will give you quite a bit of trouble. Without a team, it'll give you a bit more trouble.

And that's the whole damn problem you shouldn't create missions that are just for 'teams' because that only creates favoritism. And yes Sword people will join teams be it for fear, for not wanting to be left, for not wanting to be ganged up on, for not wanting to get hurt, because they feel intimidated outside of it, because they don't have the bravery to stand on their own, or to avoid being merely being appraised because of their stats.

That's a gang you're talking about.. not a team.
And we DO have certain characters *cough* Der Metzgermeister *cough* Azrael Thantos *cough* that can easily clean up messes in a rather bloody second, if that becomes the case.

*pulls out RP references*
Happens in MMM as well and they're just teams. Anything capable of mass-violence promotes such an effect.

No, that should encourage people to join teams. If you think that teams will get out of hand, then go join a team, Lance, and try to cause havoc. I'll clean up and get you out of here. Otherwise, be quiet. You can laugh if it happens. If it doesn't, who was proven wrong? Mods/admins choose team captains. We ask what the team's for. If it's used for something other than what was told to us, we take it away. Can't lie to the mods/admins. If we see them using it for what they've told us but they're going a bit too far with it, we'll take it away from them. They do have to be specific in what they want a team for. If someone PMs me and wants a team for raping people, I'll say no. If they want a team for killing people, I'll say no. If they want a team for power, I'll say no. Do you know what my team's for? It's for finding Horemheb. Does that sound bad to you? You seem to think that once something gets out of control that we can't fix it. Obviously, since the first time you've said this will be a problem, you want there to be a problem just so you can stick with your arguement. I see teams as a minor thing for now, until the next event. -=}N{=-
