Then you'd have to say it's unfair to teams to do missions where only unaffilaited members can join, correct? Are you really going to whine about a few lousy text inputs on some web-encoded internet space?

Teams may be an alright idea, but team based missions are not.
Teams shouldn't get any special treatment, they should be teams in name only.
Personaly, I enjoy finaly being able to lead something, and not be dragged along by the nose. On the other hand, it's also cool to be a part of something without being left out as usual.
Yeah, most of my opinion was bitching and whining, but I bet more than just I feel that way, or just don't care.

I never said do missions just for the unaffiliated either. And I'm not whining I just don't back down for an arguement like you think I did. And though you view posts as lousy text inputs on web-encoded internet space some of us view them as the creation of a community and helping create a unique and fantastic world. Roy Atenwood - Roy I perfectly understand how you feel wanting to take a role where you're finally being respected by others. It's something that we all strive to achieve. You're doing a fine job at playing your character here and my curiosity is piqued as to how far you go. ^_^

All right, team missions are gone. I do see what you mean, now that I think about it. Not all members of a team would necessarily do that mission. Being a team, they could create their own threads and make it like a mission for themselves or something fun, whatever.
However, Train, I do remember talking to you over AIM about Roy. I like him running a team. He knows what's up, but... I remember you saying he wasn't quite fit to be a leader.
Good luck, Roy.

As a player he may be suited but, I am not sure about his character.

I plan on having Roy grow into the part. Along with the fact that half of Followers of Dreams hate eachother's guts, it's going to be tough getting off the ground.
Hopefully I'll be able to have his second sight guide him through >.>
Yeah....I'm gonna need the luck.

I feel like I should say something about teams, and team missions, and all that jazz, even though Sword already vetoed the team missions:
EXP DOESN'T MATTER.
What else are missions for other than a few lousy EXP? Hell, why don't we just do this: If a team gets together and formulates their OWN team-based 'mission-style' thread, and plays it out to its entirety and does a good job, an admin/mod can read, review, and hand out a handful of EXP (say, no more than 15 in all, and no more than 3 a character) for them?
That way, AdMods aren't showing favoritism, they give it to anyone who's got the gumption to GET UP AND DO IT.
As for the lone wolves? They've still got their regular missions, and maybe that can be taken into account during said missions that they've got no team-based backup.
As for me, hell, I've decided I'm just going to eff up the world of every team around.
Just for fun.

That's just complicating things Price because that means more work on the admins part on having to read any threads outside of the mission area that a team calls a mission. Just vetoing team missions and having the standard mission system is fine as is. Then we don't have to figure out who is a loner so they get extra perks in a mission and who isn't. In fact people can do teamwork without the team system in the first place.

I figured it'd be pretty obvious by the way they weren't part of any little group of buddies in missions who was the loner or not. Didn't think I'd have to go to dictionary.com and bust out a definition of 'loner' for this. Anyway, I don't really care one way or the other, as I'm not joining teams due to my character's attitude. Hey, isn't that sort of a strike against your argument, since you keep insisting that everyone will join a team regardless of whether or not they want to?

Price the day I include you in the general masses is the day that everyone becomes Chipmunks and acknowledges Winklewood as their pimp. Your character is just a cocky ass who will one day get tentacle-raped by a tentacle-monster he challenged.

Ok, so with that out of the way, teams are free game. Reqest team captain through a PM with a mod or admin. Mods/admins will judge you to see if we can trust you with a badge. No more team testing.

Ok, I figure I might as well put in my two cents. As for the team idea, it is not bad in theory. I am happy to see that there will be no team biased missions, although I do question one thing. If there is a quest or a mission too big for one character, would you not form a team with a group? It may not be an official team like what is running currently, but it is still a team none the less.
As for the gang thing on the Xin board (of which I am also a member) I do agree that there are problems with it, and I would not like to see them carried over to here. The teams here seem only to be a name and a group of IC "friends," and no stat enhancements simply for being a part of it. So, not bad.
The problems will occur if there begins to be things that would favor members of teams over those who opt not to join. Train does make a very valid point though (a few, but one in particular). If this was something you wanted to be board wide, why not make a poll thread and hold a board wide vote, asking for member feedback, or perhaps sending a mass PM about it? Hold an actual vote, and pass the idea if there is enough member support. I know the mods/admin have the power over the board, but this seems like something that should have been run by the members first.
So long as this doesn't split the board apart like the gang thing does on Xin, then I could see it working. However, any form of group is going to create some kind of segregation. As I said, this wasn't a bad idea, but it reality, it runs the risk of causing more harm than good.
