Eldran smiled and attempted to pull out his wallet. After a couple times, and his head nearly hitting the table, he got it out as his head thumped into the table. He frowned at himself rather comically for a moment.
He opened it and showed its contents to Ziare and then replaced it as he grinned. The two debit cards from the banks proved evidence.
He grinned and paused thoughtfully for a moment as he pulled out his supplies. "I can do the picture right now, but keep your money."
He grinned and winked as only a friend would do. "Besides, I just got a new friend, and I like drawing. Just get where you'd like to be drawn and then tell me."

Ziare smiled he seemed so nice and he was so friendly. She laughed.
"How about just a picture of the city? I don't want to be in it." she blushed. "And if you won't let me pay you in money how is there something else I can do for you?" she asked clearly wanting to repay the favor of the drawing.
"You don't mind if I talk while you draw do you?" she asked sweetly.

Eldran shook his head, smiled, and grinned. "I don't mind if you look over my shoulder, go right ahead. My parents have been doing it for years."
With that, he took a look around until a found a perfect view and framed into into a rectangle in his minds eye for a good long half a minute.
Carefully arraying his pencils and his paper and art supplies, he began to draw, his normally carefree face went slightly intent and his hand movements light, deft, and sure-fingered as he drew and colored the picture from his mind's eye.
He was grinning at the challenge of so detailed a piece.

Ziare moved to sit behind him curious how an true artist could draw by looking at something alone. She was amazed how his hands raced across the paper created arches and lines that were reminescent of the buildings that were in view.
"How did you get into drawing?" she whispered not wanting to disturb him.
It was going to be a beautiful picture that she would always cherish.

He grinned and smiled as he continued to draw, not distracted in the slightest, tempered by years of his parents pulling the same stunt, only this time, he didn't mind talking.
"I stole a few pencils from my mom and dad and I used to doodle on scrap paper and toss the rejects behind my bed when I was younger. When they moved the bed and found them while cleaning, they encouraged me to take it up as a hobby, so I did. I got into photography as a sort of side hobby to that."

Ziare listened to his story and looked at him not his drawing as he talked.
"Why did you hide your drawings?" she asked moving away slightly so she could look at him easily. "I mean why hide such obvious talent. If I could draw like that I'm not sure what I would do, I don't really have any talents like that."

He paused for a moment and laughed. "The first ones weren't nearly as good as the ones you see now."
Eldran smiled almost slightly sadly as he continued his drawing when she mentioned talents before resuming his normal grinning smile. "We're both in an Academy of the Arcane Arts. Almost everyone has a magical specialty they're good at. Very rarely does someone enter who isn't good at some form of magic."
He had almost finished the drawing and was grinning in anticipation. "As for the favor, you can introduce me to your group of friends. "
He set the paper down and cast a very very basic wind spell to clean it off and then another basic spell to smooth it out.
He reached into his case for a semi-hard clear plastic case and slid it into the case and handed it to her.
"All done."

Ziare was shocked how fast Eldran was done with his picture. She took it from his gently and her eyes widened in surprise.
"How beautiful you captured the beauty so perfectly." she looked up a large smile on her face. "Thank you so much, and I'd be glad to introduce you to my friends, they would love you."
She got up and gave Eldran a friendly hug squeezing his shoulders lightly.
"You're are so kind. Now we need to have a talk about your lack of confidence in your magical abilities." she began sitting back down her voice taking on a more serious tone. "I just saw you work magic and it was wonderful don't sell yourself short because you can't call lightning from the sky all magic is wonderful in it's own sense."

Eldran laughed and grinned and shook his head. "That's elementary magic. Spells children are taught at a young age."
He reached into a bag and handed Ziare the results of a few tests he had requested done to him. They showed a somewhat lower than average mana capacity potential and almost no attunement for any particular branch of magic.
He grinned lopsidedly. "I don't have much magical power or talent. My parents sent me here because I am good at learning and they said that with my talent at that, I'd be good at figuring out a career."
He still smiled despite all of the would otherwise would be sobering news. "But you're right, I am a walking library, and few others can draw as well as I can."
He shrugged and smiled some more while he packed up his supplies one-handed.

Ziare looked at the paper and read the numbers that showed Eldrans' magical potency. He was right the numbers were low but that didn't mean he was talentless.
"Well you may have learned that when you were a child but I didn't learn anything until recently and so you should cheer up. As you said you are a knowledgeable person and even in the magic world that is something. Plus you're kind. You know.." she said with a smirk..."Magic isn't everything. Plus who knows you may have a dormant ability that just hasn't shown up yet, I've heard of that. Kind of what happened to me actually."

Eldran grinned and peered at Ziare. "Really? Tell me about it. I've read a lot about magic, but I have never heard first hand someone else's first hand experience with unlocking dormant power. I should have by now, with all the accidents I've been through."
He laughed and then grinned expectantly, waiting for her to continue, curiousity almost seeming to bubble from his expression, though he kept it in check.

Ziare smiled and dove into the story she had told many times before.
"Well I had no abilities since I was little, though thinking back I never got burned no matter what I touched but I was always afraid of being different so I never told anyone. Well it was about a few months ago when my sister, Mylie, and I were walking in the woods looking for herbs and other things. We came across a couple of bears that cornered us. We couldn't move. And because we lived in the country we knew that if we ran we would only get hurt. So we stayed still but my sister was scared she is much younger than me and she started crying which sent the one bear lumbering for us. I held out my hand instictivly and closed my eyes. I was scared. But the attack never came and after a while I opened my eyes to see my summon, Armenius a dragon in the air and the bears making for the woods." she told him watching his expression. "That's how my power awakened. I have more summons now and Armenius was reacting to my emotions and was a lot bigger that day than he is right now but he's leveling up the more I use him. When I first learned to call him on my own he was the small enough to fit in my palm." she told him holding open her palm to show him.

Eldran nodded and grinned and then waited.
"May I see him?"

Ziare smiled and nodded.
"Of course you can." she said.
She called Armenius up easily. She no longer needed to closer her eyes or hold out her hand but she still had to whisper his name in her mind. Right before he would be visible a red pulsating glow would surround Ziare. The instructors said later the glow would leave and she wouldn't have any obvious traits when she summoned until the summon actually arrived. She gave Armenius the instructions to remain docile.
My child. It was simple but it meant he was here next to her chair. Armenius stood coming up to her mid hip if she stood up next to him. His blue eyes looking kindly at Eldran. His red wings tucked close to his red body.
"Eldran this is my main summon Armenius." she said introducing them. "Armenius this is Eldran."

Eldran stepped back a couple steps and then, way more fascinated than afraid, began crouching, hopping, and looking at Armenius up close, sketching the dragon, his eyes, mouth, wings, scales and part the and taking notes on him the whole time.
The whole time, he was muttering. "Fascinating, absolutely fascinating."
He stepped back and coughed as he fumblingly put up the notepad and pencil that had somehow appeared from nowhere. "Sorry, it's just so, interesting."
He smiled. "Well, then, it won't hurt to show you this."
He unbuttoned the first few buttons of his shirt to reveal what looked like a tattoo, only it was way too intricate to be one.
Obviously mystical in nature, it was a rendering of Oeberus, the Eternal Snake in slow motion about a life-like rendering of the Sun and the Moon. The sun was in the rendering was in the same place as it was in the sky, and the moon waiting below was in the predicted fullness for tonight, as were the stars twinkling behind it.
He shrugged and grinned. "The docs have all seen it and are puzzled, but you're the first student at the Academy to know about it."
